What would be a system seller for the PS6 (for you)

With all the news about PS games no longer on PC, the looming PS6 updates and the ongoing discussions about PlayStations first party output..I wanted to ask two things?

1.What would be a system seller for you on the PS6? (This can be games, policies, software etc)

AND

2. When was the last time you felt PlayStation had something that could really moved the needle for you on selling consoles?

I have owned PS since after 360 so this isn't a console warring thing or anti-PlayStation. Not interested in console warring just general thoughts since the same topics seem to come up a lot online and on this forum.

Final Fantasy VIII Remake
PS6 exclusive

(I might get a ps6 anyway to play my existing games. I see it like a gpu update)

For me, I wasn't even big on buying a PS5.

A PS6 is even less appealing. No software can convince me to buy the home console.

I just want a proper handheld again and that'll be me fine in the PS Ecosystem. Will be getting rid of everything else.

Whatever is Team Asobi's PS6 project, and the PS6 Portable itself.

In the sense of buying a console for just ONE game? Astro Bot.

Honestly nothing. I don't expect the PS6 to be below $600, and I'm not spending above that amount on any games console, especially given my increasing disappointment with the PS5's library. I also already have a Switch 2 and thus a lot of the games I would want on a PS5/PS6 will also come out on the Switch 2.

Exclusives that would make me buy a PS6:

Dead or Alive Xtreme 4 with high-end graphics and well thought-out volleyball gameplay with 2P coop and open roaming on the island.

Earth Defense Force 7 that starts a new arc (4.1 and 5 and 6 felt like a trilogy almost)

Subscription-based Destiny 3 (something like GTA+ with rolling new content and expansions like an MMO, something to sink your teeth in for years)

Vanillaware's next game if it was an exclusive

To be honest there's nothing Sony can do to make me interested at this point. This is the last generation that I buy a console, I'm stickin to PC only from here on out. I simply don't have the money for multiple platforms anymore with how expensive everything has gotten, so I gotta choose a cord to cut, and it's consoles.

Playstation would've gotten me with the ps4 if I wasn't being more careful with money at the time. Bunch of cool exclusives. Bloodborne, Gravity Rush 2, Last Guardian, Uncharted 4, whichever Gran Turismo was on there I probably would've bought that too.

What would the ps6 need? Idunno. I'm not interested in any remakes or remasters or any sequels to their current big IPs, so they should bring game development back to Japan and come up with some cool new IPs. I don't think that's gonna happen though, which is part of why I got a Switch 2 instead. I can count on Nintendo to make quality exclusives and I can play their giant backlog on the go

The only PlayStation title that would make me consider buying a PS6, for a while, is Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2. But I seriously doubt that Sony is going to keep investing in VR.

People should already know that there will be those games they'll want to play on Playstation. I never buy their Consoles for any game in mind.

I like to futureproof. When a game comes that aligns with what I want, I'll already have the hardware ready in my house to play it.

Does anybody wish for Nintendo games on PC? Most people make the effort to get Nintendo based hardware in order to play it without another thought.

None.

There have in the past maybe been a handful of exclusive titles that I would like to play on PC.
But never enough to justify the entire console price tag for.

And even then, games like Bloodborne I can play on PC already.
Exclusives remain exclusive exactly as long as emulation takes to catch up. I can wait.

And in addition to all that, PC alone already has by far the most exclusives - and better ones, too, since indies and small teams in general just make more interesting games, and most genres I play are drastically better to play with kb&m.

But I will say this:
We got a PS4 when the PS5 came out, to be our DVD & BluRay player.
Somewhat likely, we'll upgrade that to PS5 when PS6 comes out.

Final Fantasy 8 or 10 Remakes.

But they'd be multi-plat anyway I think, so the main thing that would make me pick up a PS6 would be great support from 3rd Partys and mostly Japanese 3rd party studios.

I'll put it this way. I don't have any faith that modern Sony could make a good game, even if it was a game that would sell me a PS6 in theory. Like if they'd make a new Siphon Filter, it'd probably star an ugly insufferable girlboss and they'd sell rainbow gun skins and the story would start out: *record scratch* "Uhhh, yea, that's me. You might wonder how I got into this mess..."

God of War Trilogy Remakes along with old versions plus spinoffs collections.

A damn good X-Men game, the one they're supposedly working on after Wolverine.

Goddess of War, Intergalactic to be determined.

Bloodborne remake made by the same studio that made Demon's Souls rema..oh wait
Driveclub remake made by the same studio..oh wait

FUCK YOU SONY

1- Physical media support with no BS, and if they finally break the 'online sub' scam... but this is just impossible tbh.

2- Mmmm.... Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted. Man the PS3 and that whole gen was just banger after banger. If only we knew the dark times ahead of us...

Sony firing Herman, bringing back shu to finance 100 small teams making ps6 exclusives with the sort of budget they just spaffed at bungie…so around 30mil ish on average per game.

Absolutely nothing.
My gaming time is limited and, not having had a PS4 or PS5, the ecosystem means nothing to me.
Plus, Sony moneyhatting a relevant third party game like a FF remake, at this point, would just make my resolution to not get their hardware stronger. Keep doing the games you think are your identity and that you think are all going to sell billions, and leave third parties alone.

1.What would be a system seller for you on the PS6? (This can be games, policies, software etc)
I'd say:
- competitive price + disc drive
- a new 1st party RPG on the same level of The Witcher 3/Baldur's Gate 3/Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Xenogears Remake
2. When was the last time you felt PlayStation had something that could really moved the needle for you on selling consoles?
That's tough. If we're only talking about 1st party releases, I'd probably need to go back to Killzone 2. If we're talking in general, I'd say Final Fantasy VII Remake being "Play First on PS4".

Cant think of any real personal system sellers outside of Shenmue IV or Darkstalkers 4. I suppose an actual, proper Fear Effect 3 would also do the trick.

Five games in two years each of UC2/TLOU2/KZ2 caliber.
In other words, never going to happen. Couldn't care less about MP stuff or SP Horizon/Ghost/Spiderman type open world collectathons.
