I guess you're not making inclusions until they are officially confirmed, but Heavy Rain or whatever Quantic Dream is calling its next game should be there too. We know there's a 'full' new Wipeout in development, though it hasn't been quite officially announced. And Zipper is working on a next SOCOM too. Also, everyone seems to be forgetting Hot Shots Golf 5!

Also, there are various 'unnamed' PS3 projects from various sony studios, but I guess they don't count yet. But Team Ico is an obvious one, Sony Bend, the Buzz! team and more.

Yes, i know... MP, and that's it for hardcore games... that's why i said what i did...

Since when are those hardcore anyway?
Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros etc. appeal to core gamers as much as any "hardcore" game. That they also appeal to casual gamers does not change this. (All the biggest franchises do!)

And, show me some good online games on the Wii that compares to Warhawk, Resistance, R6, GRAW, H3, etc...
None of those interest me (well, I am keeping an eye on Halo 3 but because of the single player), so I could name several Wii online games that I consider better. You would of course disagree and then we won't get any further.

Thnx! Were there any PSP games I missed?

Obvious biased. Seriously, Nintendo has got more then Sony? Maybe last E3.

Obviously a sane person. I can understand a toss-up between MS and Sony for various people, but the Big N doesn't deserve the lavish placement some people are giving it.

Quality over quantity?

I wonder how many of the people putting PS3 first based on variety and the spread of titles would do the same for DS in handhelds (and vice versa)?

I'm a newbie around here so I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a slice of GAF humor or what. :P

No, I sincerely thought it said Nintendo, so I was going to post "Wii Fit FTW". Then WHAM, Microsoft is there instead, and I can't joke about their first party lineup at all.

People are confusing quality of titles vs number of titles all thought this thread. Let's see how Lair, Warhawk and Heavenly Sword turn out first. Three iffy developers in my mind.

Sony > Nintendo > Microsoft

I don't even care for the Wii, but I think SMG, SSB, MK, and MP beat what MS has coming. I don't really understand the love for the MS lineup. I can't wait for Mass Effect and Alan Wake as those are two promising new IPs and of course I want Halo 3, but other than that their upcoming games don't excite me. Luckily the 360 seems like the best platform for third-party support. In that category I'd rate it:

Microsoft > Sony > Nintendo

Ninja Theory and Factor 5, ok. But Incognito? What is questionable about them?

And jarrod, where's 8 Days, next gen Socom, Eyedentify, and The Agency?

Nope, just Mario Galaxy and Zelda DS and Metroid Prime are more interesting to me than Sony offerings. Quantity wise Sony obviously exceeds both Microsoft and Nintendo, but I simply don't find Sony's line-up as compelling. If you think you'll enjoy Sony's games more than I, you're free to disagree with me.

Am I biased? I think everyone is.

For 2007:

Nintendo > Microsoft >> Sony

For 2008 I'll wait a bit, seeing they all probably have more big ones behind curtains for now. Especially Nintendo since they have a shitload of unannounced Wii games in development (the same goes for DS).

Action-RPG lover.

Mass Effect + Too Human + Fable2 + Kingdom under Fire = happy gamer. Go MS.

Would love to add R&C to my list, but that would make me appear a balanced console gamer and less likely to solicit entertaining responses.

Hm, I kinda see where you're coming from and I kinda don't. I don't see how those games (besides Mario) can allow you to make an overall judgment like that. And saying Sony only has a quantity edge over Nintendo and MS (I actually think MS has more then Sony this year) is an understatement. Have you seen how beautiful Heavenly Sword and Lair are? Obviously a lot of work has been put into those titles. It's not like Sony crapped out a dozen games just to say they've got numbers.

On the other hand you make some sense. In terms of enjoyment, I can see how someone could make a decision such as that (we're all different). Not everyone would like the genre's coming out of Sony, however, it would be nice for some people to give them credit for trying nonetheless.

And to the biased thing, true. However, some are more biased then others.

For me, Nintendo, by far.

Thing is, you guys are all buying at least three games a month, so I can see why you wouldn't be too hot on Nintendo's first-party, especially since third-parties don't fill up the droughts with good stuff.

Me, I only buy like games 10 games a year coupled with DS, so individual quality is more important to me than quantity. Besides, Galaxy, Corruption and Brawl individually just blow Sony's and Microsoft's efforts out of the water.

Owning all 3 Next gen system my thoughts are as follows.

This year the order would be

1. M$ = with such games as halo 3, mass effect, PGR4,
2. Nintendo = Mario, SSBB, Mprime 3
3. Sony = I honestly have no idea, Drake gets a meh from me EDIT: SOCOM will rock, and Warhawk

Next year the order would be

1. M$ = with such games as Banjo, Too human, Alan wake
2. Nintendo = Like sony this year, i have no idea other then mario kart
3. Sony = MGS4, nuff said :EDIT: MGS4 isnt 1st party so erm....Killzone

LittleBigPlanet and Heavenly Sword are only Sony games this year that I could see myself enjoying. Of course Sony games have a lot of effort put into them and Sony studios definitely have great engineers and artists, but their game designers aren't as good (that's my opinion, don't hate me on that). If you think Sony games fit your taste, then I see why you could rate them higher.

Just to make things clear - I don't have PS3 or Wii, from last-gen consoles I have PS2 and Xbox (I played some Gamecube 1st party games though).

I think Sony has a more balanced lineup with a lot of good quality games. Microsoft is close second. Nintendo's seems a bit missing, apart from the few big franchise titles, nothing else really sticks out for me.

I think Sony and Microsoft are pretty competetive in the near-term, but Sony's numerous and excellent studios are cranking out some huge titles next year that are looking incredible. This holiday I give MS the edge, but long term, it looks like Sony by a similar margin (at the moment).

Halo 3, PGR4 and Mass Effect is an incredible combination this fall.

Their survival? :P

Eight Days is up there, SOCOM's unconfirmed, The Acency's from SOE (not SCE) and Eyedentify seems to be mia for awhile now.... I figured it was canned or on indefinite hold (see also: Project HAMMER or GT4 Portable).

I'd have added Siren PS3 too, but I doubt SCEA picks it up. There's a massive amount of unlisted JP DS non-games coming too, but I doubt they come here either.

Cry-On is not a first party title.
MGS is surely going to pick it up though, no question.
