Eidos Montreal Possibly Working On A Co-Op Game In Unreal Engine 5, Likely New Deus Ex

Fans have also been looking forward to another Deus Ex game, and famous leakers like Jason Schreier have stated that another title is already in development. While little is known about the next game, we came across a new job listing that hints at co-op mechanics and a shift to Unreal Engine 5.

Eidos Montreal is looking for a Senior Game Designer, and this job listing states:

“Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.”
“Has experience in working on co-op games.”

The job listing also hints at mechanics like crafting and upgrades. One of the requirements states:

“Develop and fine-tune mechanics of leveling, skill acquisition, crafting and upgrading.”

Maybe they have some ideas and prototypes from GotG left and are reskinning them now for a new IP.

Or Tomb Raider becomes Coop. It already had a MP for some reason.

Where is any connection with Deus Ex or any specific IP in that job description?!?

Just below on similar threads I see the headline that they and Crystal Dynamics work on 5 games. It could be any game.

I'm an optimistic guy and therefore I choose to interpret this as "a new Deus Ex and another completely unrelated co-op game", because if they're really considering implementing co-op in a Deus Ex, a judge should intervene and ban them from ever making one again.

Maybe its just an extra mode or something. Or an additional coop campaign like the old splinter cells those coop campaign were fire. No biggie if done right.

I can hear it already.

"Hey guys! We got this new amazing Deus Ex game in development which you can tackle alone or join up with up to 4 players online to overcome many challenges we have prepared for you".

Why the hell do they need someone with reverse engineering skills? unless they are planning on disassembling actual good working games to learn how to make a game lol they shouldn't need to be reverse engineering their own damn software.

Stop being a bunch of pessimistic thots. We haven't had a new Deus Ex game in years and it's surprising they're bringing it back since it's never been a financial powerhouse. Beggers can never be choosers, you take what you can get. Also, where's Denton Denton when you need him most?
What? They’re behind Human revolution and Mankind divided

Who else is supposed to handle it?
The same people who made two solid entries and did justice to the franchise are now being crapped on by drama queens lol. The only games they've done recently are two Marvel titles which were both modestly recieved. Just goes to show that we're always on the look out to shit on somebody.

Those two are amazing games. Human revolution made a shitload of doubting gamers eat crow.

Coop is the problem, not the studio.

Probably a legacy of Square Enix management to want gaas/live service

Meant to quote the co-op portion, the copy/quote failed me.

This is clickbait. No where on the job listing does it specifically mention Deus Ex. Eidos Montreal could be working on a new co-op IP, or a new Marvel game that has co-op. Calm down.

jup, clickbait and we clearly see who does not read beyond stupid headlines, and therefore headlines will be clickbait forever.

Does job lists include the exact name of the game when hiring?
Like, if they still want to reveal why include this on the hiring? Doesn't make any sense.

Does a co-op Deus Ex make sense?

Edios Montreal can make more than one game at a time. There is no evidence that this has anything to do with Deus Ex.

That must be a mistake.......co-op wouldn't fit with the premise of the Deus Ex games.....it would kind of ruin it and no dev would be stupid enough not to see that coming from a mile away......right?

From a gaming point of view, no.
But from the point of view of a greedy suit guy that wants the next easy money grabber? Yes.

And whats the best way to get that money? Creating a new IP called Dicky Mcdicky or using an already existing IP which is well know and can be easly used as a bait?

Look the scenario of movie industry. Nobody will watch a garbage poop writting new movie. But its easier to make them watch a garbage poop writting movie if they put Lion King in the name.

Why are we all jumping to it being a Deus Ex game? Could just as easily be a new IP or something else entirely. Eidos Montreal has been a work-for-hire studio for a while now.

Well, to be honest, co-op does sounds like an exceptionally horrible idea for a Deus Ex game..
I like Eidos Montreal, all three of their games, a ton, but this news, assuming it's real, would put a real damper on my enthusiasm.
