Look, Shinovi Versus was the highest-selling 2013 Vita game that's not related to the hunting genre.

Vita owners like their anime school girls
The audience for that kind of games is clearly on the Vita.
NIS knows its audience
Vita is the perfect console for your tastes OP
LOL, Vita has indeed found its market
Needed more rubbing mechanics if it wanted to succeed
Thats irrelevant, the only explanation is that the audience that likes games with anime school girls with destructible clothes is on the Vita.
Yes, AcademicSaucer, you've been very clear in making it known that Vita is a home to perverse games. Thank you for your enlightening insights.

First western developed game to push more than 1 million units in Japan in about 15 years.008. [3DS] Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon <ACT> (Nintendo) {2013.03.20} (¥4.800) - 1.003.188

Well could as well take Gundam out cause Smash is going to chart in the top ten.
I'm actually curious to see if DKCR is in the top 1000...I was about to mention DK Country Returns on Wii, but just checked and it was 23k off
Not much different this year, with Smash, Monster Hunter and Pokémon to join the list.
2014 (not fully updated)

You can also take Knack off, cause it hasn't done shit since the launch period.
Youre welcome .

What was the last one to do it?
It was a PSone Crash Bandicoot game.
Taking a look at the complete Wii U third-party list, Tank! Tank! Tank! was one of the very few titles that didn't sell bad. In fact, it did quite well, even more considering it is a downloadable free-to-play game.
[WIU] Tank! Tank! Tank! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.02.21} (¥5.040) - 35.155 (first week 4.714) <28,57%> Initial Shipment 16.500
At this rate, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition will never get close to selling its first shipment. Maybe it is being undertracked (Famitsu has it at 150.162) or its initial shipment estimate may be wrong. Used sales are strong so it'd better be the latter because retailers won't be able to get rid of those unsold copies.
2011 [3DS] Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition <FTG> (Capcom) {2011.02.26} (¥4.800) - 103.880 (first week 44.649) <25.44> Initial Shipment 175.507
2012 [3DS] Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition <FTG> (Capcom) {2011.02.26} (¥4.800) - 13.829 / 117.709
2013 [3DS] Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition <FTG> (Capcom) {2011.02.26} (¥4.800) - 3.790 / 121.499
Used sales:
[3DS] Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition <FTG> (Capcom) {2011.02.26} (¥4.800) - 17.757 / 83.157 <68,44%> (204.656)
I wasn't entirely joking when I said that at one point it will be impossible to compile a yearly top 1000 due to lack of games.
Media Create Top 1000 cutoff:
2009 [3DS] Sigma Harmonics - 5.508
2010 [PSP] Hanakisou - 4.887
2011 [PS3] Just Cause 2 (Ultimate Hits) - 4.046
2012 [PS3] Bayonetta (PlayStation 3 The Best) - 3.529
2013 [PSP] Mobile Suit Gundam: Mokuba no Kiseki - 2.374
Two actually. Games developed in west that is.
GTAV is going to join that club with PS4 version (and PS3 budget version still actually selling pretty well).First western developed game to push more than 1 million units in Japan in about 15 years.

Not sure if this is much help, but we're missing 201-400 now right?
From what I can tell (don't know Japanese, but there's enough English to figure stuff out in some cases)
203. [PS3] Yakuza 1&2 HD Edition <ADV> (Sega) {2012.11.01} (¥8.190) - 31,973 / 163,418? (I'm confused by the multiple columns of numbers.
207. [Wii] Just Dance Wii
210. [3DS] Project X Zone
213. [PS3] Sengoku Basara 3?
224. [Wii] Wii Sports Resort
Actually do you guys have like a joint online spreadsheet? That'd seem more efficient imo.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS
2011 - 74,173 / 121,826
2012 - 23,800 / 145,626
2013 - 10,653 / 156,279
Really cool, will Namco ever release a budget version? They should have done it earlier this year in preparation for Tales of the World.
Xenoblade Wii
2010 - 82,952 / 161,161
2011 - 16,498 / 177,659
2012 - 9,349 / 187,008
2013 - 6,840 / 193,848
Same here, I know Monolith is busy with the sequel, but Nintendo could have hired a third-party studio to handle an HD Remaster.
Wait, wait... did Resident Evil 6 seriously drop beyond even the top 500? Meaning even with X360 and PS3 sales combined it still isn't even close to hitting 1 million units sold? That is one of the most front loaded titles I've ever seen (along with One Piece).
For reference in 2012:
006. [PS3] Resident Evil 6 <ADV> (Capcom) {2012.10.04} (¥7.990) – 833.012
209. [360] Resident Evil 6 <ADV> (Capcom) {2012.10.04} (¥7.990) – 47.708
