The only question I want answered is....

Multiplatform? Right?
Yes, which consoles are still being speculated. The most popular consensus is that it will be on Wii and PS3.

Has there ever been a game that was 360/Wii? Seriously asking; I don't know.

Prize fighter?

Anyways. Seems like its legit then. Does the distorted Kanji mean anything? the subtle 2 at the end is so nice. Cant wait for this hopefully its a 09 release. <3 Blue Castle games.

The kanji says things like "incurable", "corpse disease", "parasite illness", "infection" and "zombification." Really nothing of consequence.

This single frame was a nice touch too.

You know, Blue Castle guys, if this is real, then it might be taking this viral thing a bit too far if people immediately think your videos look like cheap fakes. :lol

Perhaps I'm getting too close to becoming DR defense force, but I can confidentially say that those people who did say that were just saying that due to hivemind effect. They probably saw that the other DR2 threads were locked, assumed it was fake and then looked at the video with a negative perspective. C'mon, the video isn't direct feed and the quaility isn't even that good to make any judgement calls about the graphics.

Alas, you probably know that but I'm making a commitment here.

From my knowledge, Dead Rising has always been set in a mall. Alot of the earlier development screens are on the gaming media sites. For example, Frank had a complete redesign.
......
What we know at the end of Dead Rising (spoilers!):
......
Personally, I really don't give a crap about Dead Rising's "lore". I just want to crab the craziest thing in the environment and club zombies. Club, club club club.

P.S. I hope there is a "Trekkies" convention going on in the Vegas casino. Oh my god.

Fuck, are you kidding me? Another game constrained to a time limit? You've got to be shitting me. If I just want to roll around a mall full of zombies and kill them without sacrificing precious time needed to do missions, why can't I? Ugh.

You mean the way you could do that in the original game or are you being sarcastic?

I like where your head's at.

Please let there be an arcade! I want to smash a Zombie's face into a SFIV machine. Hell, load this game with Capcom references, not just Megaman. Maybe a video game/anime convention just as an excuse to give Frank DMC, Lost Planet, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, etc costume options.

looks legit i just find it strange that the casino setting was in fact the one a lot of gaffers wished for, for DR sequel.
Now, i am not aware of a huge zombie filmography taking place in a casino, so i assume guys at capcom read gaf ? or it's just coincidental..

Make the ps3 version damnit!!! Seriously, Dead Rising 1 is the 360 game I wish I had the most. I really hope they go through with it.

Capcom doesn't really do exclusives on the HD consoles anymore, as they've stated.

Why were all those other threads with the teaser video locked?

I...think the casino environment is going to suck.

The mall had good variety to it...part of a themepark, many different shops with their own style (and of course, weaponry). How are you going to emulate that with a Casino?

Or maybe it's a Las Vegas strip sort of thing, where there will be different kinds of stores (including stuff like a hardware store).

Shit I couldnt get past that part and I just stopped playing the game, thanks for saving me the torture.

:lol :lol :lol Are you serious? You totally missed the point of the game... :lol

ChrisGoldstein said:
Thanks for the tip I'll try that out. I liked the game it was just a bit too challenging for me.

Oh ok, looks like you did heheh. Just re-try, and you'll carry over all your abilities. Meaning that your second time through you'll have more health, more combat abilities, etc. If you die, still, you level up again. Meaning if you die enough because you aren't good enough, you'll be a super-fast, highest health, power-punching beast and the game gets really easy.

Yes, but if the game were Wii60 then it wouldn't be exclusive, now would it?
Capcom likes to make smart business decisions, bless 'em. ;)

3rd party exclusives are a dated concept, anyway. The more people that get to play great games the better. If Dead Rising 2 isn't on both HD consoles, I'll be very surprised.

That'd be fucking wicked.

Not actually that important
There's no way the game's going to be on Wii.
DR:CTYD is just around the corner and they're having trouble selling that game.
We know why that is, but you can bet your ass that Capcom is going to wait to see if that sells or warrants a second game on Wii if anything.
It's downright laughable thinking the game will be on 360 and Wii but no PS3.

PS360 and probably PC later is a safe bet.

don't get me wrong, I would love to see the game on Wii as well but it aint' happening now

A big fat confirmed:

THE DEAD WALK AGAIN AS CAPCOM CONFIRMS DEAD RISINGTM 2
Sequel to 1.5 million-plus seller announced for multiple gaming platforms
London – February 9, 2009 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising™ 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and the PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising™, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer will play an active role in the project.

Released in 2006, Dead Rising won praise across the globe for its mix of intense zombie action and dark humour, garnering numerous awards including IGN’s “Most Innovative Design for Xbox 360”, Gamespot’s “Best Action-Adventure Game” for 2006 and “Action Game of the Year” at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly.

The giant cellphone pic seems to allude that its during a CES type event. That is a brilliant idea. Between the different themed casinos and different types of trade shows, they have an excuse for a ton of settings.

I think online co-op is pretty much a given considering how RE5 has it, so that means they need to up the ante and offer at least 4 player online co-op! Make it happen Capcom!

This. If it has online Co-op and the gameplay isn't changed too much from the original, but still improved upon, I could see this becoming one of my favorite games of all time.
