RE5 on PS3 slightly lower than I hoped for after the 1st day sales. Yakuza 3 huge drop off... sucks.

SO4 will be bye bye from top 30 next week most likely.

Capcom really should have made Monster Hunter 3 for the psp. Even the discounted repackaged game is still selling STRONG.

1st week (% of LTD)

PS1 Resident Evil - 149K (12.5%)
PS1 Resident Evil 2 - 1.39m (64.5%)
PS1 Resident Evil 3 - 1.01m (72.7%)
GCN Resident Evil 4 - 146K (65.9%)

After some of the hardcore were drained off with the GCN release ...

PS2 Resident Evil 4 - 235K (51.6%)

With that information, I'd say that RE5 (PS3+360) is looking at ~600K, which is ~75K short of GCN+PS2 RE4.

A softer start for RE5 on the PS3 than I had thought, but pretty strong 360 numbers considering.

And I'm not bashing the PS3, just that I thought RE5 in general would generate more heat.

It's been a steady drop in the weekly rankings, so it's not exhibiting typical signs of a shortage (i.e. low, high, low, high rankings).

It's just the original releases. Easier to compare apples to apples that way.

For the second reprint, its first week percentage is currently 2.8%. I don't have a first week total for the original BEST release.

PS2 Resident Evil 4 (BEST) - ___ (149K LTD)

From most accounts its still mostly back ordered and there was a confirmed 2nd shipment. So maybe I got ahead of myself on the 3rd, but still... hopefully it does enough business to warrant a NA release :)

I expect SF4 to do really well in western countries. Seems to have sold exceptionally well in Australia so far. I base this on how hard it was for me to get a collectors edition.

Well, technically you're both right... it's my NMH2's avatar, but I had it black-n-whited (with the red beam katana) in honor of MadWorld's release :)

The trailer (and my original avatar) wasn't in black and white.

Controls-wise, PS360 is last-gen and Wii is next-gen, since the PS360 will undoubtedly look to adapt those controls for their next-gen consoles.

Graphics-wise, Wii is last-gen and PS360 is next-gen, since Wii will undoubtedly look to adapt those level of graphics in its next-gen console.

There is no current-gen.

Motion Controls only affect certain games though, while graphics and sound affect EVERY game. You can't seriously tell me that playing a RPG on a system with motion controls makes the controls "next gen" can you? There's a reason why certain Wii games support the classic controller and GC controller. :p

Serious question, what about the Eye Toy and Eye Kinetic and all those "Eye" games on PS2? Didn't they do much of the same shit that the Wii controller and Wii Sports/Wii Play does? If I'm mistaken, sorry, but that's what I remember from them.
