Halo 5 Opening Cinematic

So, this means the 1st mission is a snow level?

I'm definitely okay with this. Now I'm just waiting for more campaign gameplay.

Pretty awesome.

Spartan porn.

Lack of MC in the intro makes me upset though. And nothing beats Halsey's speech with Spartan II/Chief footage.

I really hope this has Bungie-quality level design this time around. The Killzone-via-Metroid-esque approach for Halo 4 led to the worst level design the series has ever experienced, outside of some of the Halo 2 levels.

Was getting caught part of your plan?
Don't care about Halo, but that was one bad ass opening, holy shit.

I wonder if they could have made that playable though....It feels like it would have been possible.

Apart from playing it at my friends' place from time to time, I've never owned the series myself but hot damn, do I always love their cinematics and trailers.

Do yourself a favor and don't watch the video. My god. I really wish I hadn't seen that. It's fucking incredible.

That was pretty good.

I want to see how it transitions into gameplay though.

I was expecting to see that until I re-read the sentence and saw "real thing" at the end.

The music, pacing and action has this feeling like the Nylund books coming to the games. I've watched it twice and so many elements coming together e.g. animation, voice acting, graphics, effects, Spartans etc. Feels like when Chief gave the Covies back their bomb X 4

Looks really nice visually, but I almost saw them yawn at how easy they took out that enemy faction.

If you make them like Superman, there's no tension or excitement from overcoming incredible odds. You're just going through the numbers. Been there done that. The Order 1886 had the same problem for me; the heroes looked bored most of the time. When you first encountered werewolves, the main character barely broke a sweat. How can you be excited when your character is bored.

Hope it's actually reflected in the gameplay itself or there's gonna be a big disconnect between how free and easy it all is in the cinematics compared to how linear and handicaped you might be during actual gameplay.

Your shitty opinions continue, Jem.

Search function, dawg.

The air drop was awesome, the fight whilst running down a mountain looked kinda badass but felt far too over the top for me. Older Halo trailers manage to make the Chief look like a total badass without forcing him to do loads of acrobatics (I know the H4 prologue has him doing a backflip but that lasted all of about 5 seconds).

Spartans have always been described as being able to do this kind of stuff. I have no problem with this representation, and I see this interpretation of Spartan ability as being the best fit for a movie, were one to ever happen.

I think the purpose of the cutscene is to show how they work well as a team and have their shit together, but yeah I hope the level following this isn't super linear and filled with corridors.
