Open your eyes, the examples you bring up (Kim Kardashian, the successful youtubers) are 1 in a million.
You can't justify wealth inequality by saying that a very small group of people managed to get from the bottom to the top.
It's insane to me that people can still seriously take that condescending tone towards people who voice legitimate concerns about how very few people have so much money yet many, many more are living in poverty, for no legitimate reason.

I didn't speak to anyone about this because I don't give a fuck about Kardashians, but the type of thing I would've said in passing is "probably did it for the publicity" or "who cares, she's rich enough" - This is part of being a celebrity, they get shit talked about, it's not personal it's just that these people are so remote as to be characters in a TV show... which in this case they actually are.

Many people find the the gap between rich and poor even more disgusting. If Kim was known for her philanthropy with her piles of cash, I bet there would be a different reaction.
When there are millions of people who work hard everyday and can barely get by, where everyday is a struggle, and something like this happens to an ultra rich person, it's hard to feel sympathetic for them.

The human response remains exactly that for anyone that isn't some sort of criminal, KK or anyone you may randomly hear about being robbed on your local news. Whether they take to the Internet to discuss it further or not doesn't change how your average person will generally feel about someone's wife being held at gun point, tied up and put in a bathtub. It may affect the number of shares it gets, but that should be about it for anyone who isn't a sociopath.
And it for damn sure isn't KK's fault Paresians are broke. She's not fucking French. Using it as some sort of platform to complain about the French not being happy with their financial state is just gross, which would be a fair description of a number of GAFers in this thread: gross.

Like the fact that when North was born, she asked for charity donations instead of gifts? Like the advocacy she does regularly in support of recognition of the Armenian genocide, including a full-page ad she took out in the New York Times blasting the WSJ for running an ad denying the genocide?

This is exactly how I feel. I'm not sure why people are using this of all things as an opportunity to bring up income inequality. There was a good chance she could've gotten raped and/or killed. Some people need to learn when to pick their battles.
What does her riches have to do with anything? Where do you draw the line?
I think it is sickening that people find this as something just and almost applaud it.
