Smutterfly Effect: 7

I'm pretty sure I've read this one before, but I needed a reminder of where the plot was at.

Now on to read the chapters I missed.

Naruto

This "final" battle keeps hitting lows and highs. This was in the low because it was mostly talking and Kishi filling the panels up with flashbacks.

One Piece

Finally the fight has ended and it was a nice flashback. Really liked the chapter for what it was, a onesided ownage on Chin by Luffy.

One Piece 719

Luffy won against a strong opponent on the very first try? Im impressed, possibly one of the better fights in one piece comparing across the entire manga. Backstory was pretty week but the present day made it worth it.

So Tobirama could Edo Tensei, use shadow clones, teleport, and that's just what we know. Yet he was killed by a bunch of random ninja letting others escape? Pft.

use?

I always said that the second was the best hokage. he's a pro.

One Piece
Finally a chapter that i enjoyed, more like this Oda pls. Oh and yes you can see the lightning in that fist.

Hey, Bleach is back next week? I forgot about that.

Can't wait for that PTT. You promised, Stat.

sorry and oh? I don't know what does that mean but whatever
While writing the post I finally realized what your avatar is because of the sword, which in some sort of chain of thought brought me to "mangaf mafia". Feels weird explaining this.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
use?

He's kind of a Master of None though. Its relatively absurd that Naruto plus Kurama plus infinite chakra Minato have the "same" amount of chakra as Hashirama.

Angel Clock 2

Hearts in the eyes and all the flowery image made for a pretty second chapter for him the Angel and for our lead, Tsubasa. Figured that the time travelling would involve such a plot as him constantly dying and failing to save Gin (lost sense of time as he made it seem like hes been doing it for quite some time since chapter one ended). However the police and one other person out to get him did give it a somewhat unique touch. I would like more chapters to come but its monthly and only just started this year even.

What nonsense?
wait, I think I got that wrong. I thought that "Thor" attack was similar to the one from Strong World OVA (since they both use TORU/Thor in the name) but apparently in this chapter that "Thor" wasn't electricity at all, just some bullshit power up from the fact that he jumped in the air before launching it.

If nothing else, the current Naruto arc has done wonders for making people like Hashirama and Tobirama more as characters.
Were they really proper characters before this arc? I personally don't think so. They were more like...deities. At least, in the way they were presented or spoken of.

I don't think I'm making myself clear here and am a bit woozy on NyQuil so feel free to ignore this post.

Nobuyuki's childhood friend Yuu Takahama is the student council president at their school, and Yuu asks Nobuyuki to stay with him at school when he has to finish up some paperwork for the student council.
This was a lot cuter than it deserves to be. Recommended.

One Piece 719

That backstory was fucking hysterical. Awesome win.

Naruto

Well, at least, uh...this chapter made sense, for once.

Also, I forget, did they kill that stupid Juubi thing or not?

Wait wait wait, the actual physics explanation is bullshit and... electricity.. isn't?

I mean, I'm willing to accept either of them by OP logic, but I feel like that's a bit backwards if anything. Unless I'm mistaking what you mean.

So grateful Soul Catcher(S) has escaped the back of Jump. It is the freshest concept in Jump in the last ten years. Its poised to be this generations Jaguar.

I thought that it was electricity like the similar attack he used in the OVA (am I the only one?), but apparently it's just the result of the impact. I just wrote that he got a power-up by jumping in the air so it's now called Thor EG, I didn't mention any physics explanation.

What!? Luffy making up new moves for every new bigger opponent? That's... that's... like OP from day 1. If you can complain about that, what would you do if you reread the manga.

No I mean like, doing a punch down while falling from a high place for more damage is pretty much standard physics, and.. you said it's a bullshit power up.

oh, I didn't mean bullshit as "nonsense", it does make sense as a power up. just a random/weak one, usually he's more creative with power-ups.

Naruto 644

Another nice Father & Son moment.

Meanwhile, the 2nd Hokage continues to be impressed and dismayed by Naruto.

One Piece 719

Old man and his crew will now Luffy's newest comrades.

He's going to be crying those tears of joy when he wakes up.

And... done ;_;

This is so good you guys. You guys, it's so good. It's criminal that there's no more translations. My days will never be the same without a new chapter.

Eyeshield 21 ~71

The match with the Americans was pretty good, too bad the bats don't have those superior American muscles or those even better black muscles...

I actually did a post on that in both the general anime and AoT anime threads last week after the manga sales were released, lemme post that here as well:

-------------------------------------------------

Now that Attack on Titan manga volume 11 has been on sale for more than one weekend, here's a look at some of the manga boosts:

First/second week sales:
Volume 9 -- 435,631 regular, 25,712 limited edition after 10 days
Volume 10 -- 417,414 regular, 30,404 limited edition after 6 days (released April 9, 2013, three days after the anime begins)
Volume 11 -- 1,054,915 regular, 275,066 limited edition after 10 days (released August 9, 2013)
And for some lifetime sales totals comparisons, all volumes right around when the anime began airing (standard editions only, as of April 7, 2013)
Volume 1 -- 1,089,423 (released March 17, 2010)
Volume 2 -- 1,051,436 (released July 16, 2010)
Volume 3 -- 1,009,933 (released December 9, 2010)
Volume 4 -- 891,039 (released April 8, 2011)
Volume 5 -- 848,639 (released August 9, 2011)
Volume 6 -- 808,576 (released December 9, 2011)
Volume 7 -- 726,848 (released April 9, 2012)
Volume 8 -- 693,692 (released August 9, 2012)
Volume 9 -- 653,880 (released December 7, 2012)
And now last week, nineteen weeks later:
Volume 1 -- 2,000,565
Volume 2 -- 1,946,821
Volume 3 -- 1,897,607
Volume 4 -- 1,774,160
Volume 5 -- 1,739,285
Volume 6 -- 1,696,058
Volume 7 -- 1,614,094
Volume 8 -- 1,601,242
Volume 9 -- 1,573,244
Volume 10 -- 1,549,182
So whatever you may think of the anime's quality, I'm sure Kodansha is quite pleased with the results.
