I just spottwd this, apparently there's a show airing 9/1 that has Arino and Hamaguchi as Yoiko, stranded on an island for three days with two other people, and forced to survive on their own. That sounds insane, I need to see this.

Hamaguchi does this fairly often, once or twice a year I think. They usually have him camp out on the island and hunt for his own food. It's usually fishing or gathering. Hardly any animals in the places they go and it's probably too gruesome to show them preparing any other than marine life.

You're right, I guess they've both done this before, there was actually a DS game release in 2008 that tied into it...crazy. I wonder how many times Arino's done this. The most interesting thing from my lookup was that Hama actually has a pet hen (pictured, I guess).

Zari-gani just posted that she's done with the work she had for the show and that they'll be working on a new sub now.
We'll also see a sub of the Karnov episode pretty soon from VR-GCCX. The process they have for doing subs is really cool. The main translator posts his draft to /vr/, and everyone has a chance to give their input and correct mistakes. It's very democratic and pretty interesting to watch happen out in the open.

Kinda, I think they've always taken a break in August. Its back on schedule starting the 19th, though.
Hey fellow GameCenter CX fans! What a great show this is, one of my favorite tv shows ever I think (on par with things like Top Gear)!
I apologize if this info in given in the OP somewhere, but could someone here point me to a website that lists all the episodes released per season and that includes which episodes are fansubbed, and also by which group?
That would help me a lot as the only problem I'm having with this show is figuring out what is fansubbed and what not, and who is doing the subbing, especially because the releases seem so random (which also makes it difficult for me to remember which episodes I watched before). It got especially chaotic for me when Kotaku got involved...

- 'GCCX in Paris' has an airdate: Monday, October 14. They're also filming a segment at the Tokyo Game Show, probably featuring the promotion of the 3DS game.

Episode 167 - Sky Kid (J)
Before Arino can challenge this quirky shooter, he has to learn to get off the ground first. After a few false starts he loops through tricky missions and tries to shake his shooter curse. Sky Kid is a timely challenge, since it seems to have inspired one of the mini-games from the new 3DS collection, Wing Hero (blowing into the mic won't save you here, though). Lots of crashing and burning to be had here, and the double-controller continue trick doesn'tt make it easier. The Kacho visits the United States of Odaiba Festival as well, and gives Jogging Race another go. Also: another brainstorming session for the new game with G.rev.

I just turned in a few magazine segments, and I'll be getting the RPG text to translate soon.

Great news! I've always wanted to play that Famicom Detective Club-type game in English, too, looks like it's bound to happen.Not only that, but everyone's getting the best of the best on this one. Not only is the project getting zari-gani's translations that she did a while back, the guy running it is also a translator of sorts and has done lots of work on it, and I am working on it as well! SAGCCX have the rest of Season 15 dead in their sights, with this Famicom challenge of the long-running adventure series (Westerners might know the newer DS installment as Jake Hunter). Arino really gets into it here, it's pretty fascinating to see him play detective. The Kacho also tries his hand at a batting cage for what seems to be his first time (then again, that's every batting cage segment).

Arino stars as the Kacho, but the story also takes place in 1986, with Hajime Yoshii playing a young gamer named Daisuke, and Yuna Taira as his crush, Kumiko
Directed by Masatoshi Kurakata, this will be his second feature film, and he says it will be a blend of documentary and drama
Kan said in their press conference that the main theme of the film is karipaku, or the act of borrowing without returning (as a gamer in the 80s, I knew this feeling very well), and he wanted the film to conjure feelings of "playing Famicom at a friend's place, with Jump magazine and Fanta pop... I've asked the director to convey that 80's feel"
Arino promises that if the film sells 200,000 tickets, there'll be a takoyaki party for the fans; at 500,000 sold, a fan appreciation cruise will take place; if 800,000 sell, Arino will do a challenge filmed in Las Vegas (sounds like Kickstarter stretch goals, lol)

It was amazing to get that response from Producer Kan!!! (even if, well, it's only twitter after all). Tanii also replied to Kan after that, actually, and he mentioned how they have a revenge pending with the Casino in North Korea lol.

Yeah, I mean, he clearly has played a few Sega games, but it was more of a joke about how Kibe - the massive Sega fan - has to suffer through the indignities of being a Sega fan because Arino is such a mark for Nintendo.
Anyone remember that America trip where Arino just walked away from the US Sega Master System because he didn't care? lol
