It's cool that they're working on one of their own non-.hack IPs though. I figure they could use a break on that for now or even for good? But it'd be great if they made another game within the .hack universe that isn't "The World" related.

Yeah, with my hopes of any new Xenosaga games dashed for now, Im really wanting this to be a .hack game! However id prefer a single player RPG to an MMO.

i'm 99% sure its a Tail Concerto game from the art unless its a completely different franchise in the same universe or something.

it just doesn't scream .hack to me at all. unless they're making a .hack that has tail concerto-looking guys only...

Doubt it, the //g.u. series sold fairly well.

I really hope not, and an interview at the dot hack thread claims otherwise :/ Well, as long as namco bandai dont sell them off to Nintendo as well :lol

when i interviewed hiroshi matsuyama and daisuke uchiyama it was definitely true that they weren't going to allow them to make a TC sequel. however, that was E3 2003, during the release period of the original .hack:

This is a fun one... since Uchiyama-san won't let Matsuyama-san make sequels to Tail Concerto or Silent Bomber [two flopped PSone games by CyberConnect 2] maybe CC2 should make Tail Bomber.

Uchiyama: We've been getting a lot of information and we've been looking at what functionality would be cool in games in general. Things are currently in discussion about various things. I hope its just a cameo, that style just doesn't fit .hack at all.
And if it IS a .hack game, I hope it at least is in its own time line, not the one from all the other games.

If so it debunks the "no more .hack ever allowed by Bandai"

And you'd think that the DS/PS3 game would be part of the same project spread across multiple systems aka. FFXII/FFXIII. So PS3 is .hack also?

Seems like .hack with the visuals of Tail Concerto. Maybe this is the only way they can do a TC sequel?

Could also be Shugo ya know. Anyway remember that both the Tail Concerto and Silent Bomber characters had cameos in the first .hack series. This could be repaying the favor.

it really does look like a Tail Concerto/.hack crossover thing. it would make sense with that interview in the GU thread that the director or whoever he was (can't remember) didn't want to make volumes for the same game and keep it contained on one disc/box.

it would make sense if they did a crossover thing and it was only for one game. It'd be a pseudo Tail Concerto sequel that would work around it not being a true Tail Concerto game...

it would be interesting, definitely...i wonder what elements they'll really keep from what we've seen in .hack series though other than the MMO thing.


also, the picture itself LOOKS like a MMO in itself. i mean, what is it supposed to be? A town? Certainly doesn't look like a regular town you'd see in Tail Concerto imo. It looks more like a .hack town in that sense.
