Yeah, with all this talk about amazing animation and atmosphere, looking at stills feels more than a little bit useless. If you're going to give out exclusives to magazines, then for ****'s sake make sure that the magazine offers some form of video content to go along with the printed material.

Cant wait for this beauty, and r&clank. And from what I can tell either that jeep picture with the blur is done by another artist, the same artist but with heavy photoshop/illustrator type work, or just straight up the real deal. The trees with the light cast from the canopy is different and more visible than the painting. Also the ground don't look like paint, although the leaves of the plants look like smooth brush strokes from a painter like application.

The jeep shot is concept art or a shot of a cinematics.
I really want to believe that it is ingame but there too much elements that seem to show it's not.

I think the oversaturation makes sense for jungle scenes. It conveys the humidity, without resorting to shitty fog like most games (and in some instances, it is simply HDR due to your limited view).
Look at pic 2 from post #518. Notice the sky peeking through at the top? It is a bigger openning, thus it doesn't have that oversaturation you mention.
IMO, this game has some incredible lighting.

I like the lighting in this shot, and when you stop to look at it the grass is really nice as well. The things I don't like are the rampant 2D leafs and the red flowers. Here's hoping they're placeholders! We were shown high-poly 3D vegetation bliss a year ago, don't let us down Naughty Dog! My only other issue is that the textures so far (not that you can really tell much from these shots tbh) look a little soft, and the weird fog effect/lod thing going on is a bit bleh. But then I look at the jeep shot and see this great draw distance, so hopefully the color homogenizing in this shot is just a result of it being unfinished.
Overall I'm look forward to this (Naughty Dog always delivers), I seriously hope we see more of it soon.

With or without the jeep shot, it looks absolutely phenomenal. I've been rooting for this game since the moment I first saw it. Always had the feeling it will turn out to be something awesome.
Jeep shot is probably pre-viz of some kind btw. Maybe even a touched up in-engine shot, but looks to be something that's touched up nonetheless. Weird thing is, motion blur there look very realtime-ish. Actually, so many things on that screen look like realtime, but then some details look kinda painted on. In any case, other screens are so similar in quality, that if they can pull off the motion blur in that jeep chase scene, it should look almost identical anyway.

Incredible. I'm pretty sure that one jeep shot is in game, too. If you flip between it and the other one there's clearly more detail. Plus, the one that's obviously art has the painter's signature and the more real time looking one doesn't.

Pretty sure most of the screens are from an older build, maybe the jeep scene is from a newer build? Either way Im pretty sure its ingame, its in motion so details can be glossed over
