thank you.. that is more than enough..

Infamous had an official bundle day 1 when PS4s were just coming into regular circulation. It'll take a franchise game and not a new IP to take down those week 1 sales.

i think well marketed and hyped game with no major issue at launch can topple these numbers easily. TitanFall is an example. But definitely marketing push behind it was quite insane but it is also more than a decent game.

Asda is bundling it with basically every console they do, at least the store near me is, but it's still at £350. Not sure how long that's been going on, I only just noticed it today.

Edit: To clarify, it's the plain console, so just the console + FH2 + another game (There's a choice between Halo, evolve and there was another game I can't remember for the second game)
Oh so it is being "heavily bundled" ;) plus the price has been really low according to some . No wonder it has been showing up in the charts

Order doing really nice.

Million units in one month seems reasonable now.

Great sales for the studio's first big game.

Is Minecraft for Playstation not available in retail for NZ?

Look at both charts again. They're combining all the retail versions together, so I assume they got confused by the two different publishers for the same game and just assigned it to Microsoft (and Sony in the Aus chart). Sony dominate the NZ console market, there's zero chance the Xbox versions outsold the PS versions last year.

Do we know how many units of COD were moved in previous year. Just want to know how many sales # 1 title usually get in Australia and NewZealand.

My estimate is that for Aus COD should be between 150k - 200k and for NewZealand between 40k - 50k.

We hardly ever get precise figures, even less in terms of units.

UK first week sales estimates for some PS4 first-party titles:

(100%)

KILLZONE: SHADOW FALL (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) > 88,000
INFAMOUS: SECOND SON (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) ~ 74,000
THE LAST OF US: REMASTERED (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) ~ 73,000
THE ORDER: 1886 (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) - Between 36,000 and 47,000
DRIVECLUB (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) - Between 25,000 and 30,000

Look like Sony first party has failed to reap the success of PS4 yet.. i mean these are some very good numbers but i was expecting the one from Order or DC to match or exceed Infamous.

Don't put too much emphasis on first week sales. Driveclub beat Infamous (and every other on any platform) as the biggest selling exclusive in 2014.

Found this website that shows all bundles on store websites

GAME has XB1+Forza 5+FH2 £329
GAME has XB1+Forza 5+FH2+GTA5 £364
GAME has XB1+Forza 5+FH2+FIFA 15 £364
GAME has XB1+Kinect+Forza 5+FH2 £379

Isme has XB1+Controller+Halo+FH2 £389
Isme has Xb1+SO+Halo+FH2 £389

Seems like it's getting bundled decently, although the GAME bundles don't seem to be having much effect since Forza5 didn't chart and that's also in all the bundles.

Never heard of Isme, so they probably aren't doing much either in terms of moving consoles.

Forza 5 is a download code, so it wouldn't appear in the charts.

And I'm surprised by how heavily bundled Horizon 2 currently is. I only checked GAME a couple of weeks ago and saw no bundles. How new are those?

Ah

Not sure how new they are, I actually just noticed it when trying to google more information about the asda bundles lol, but they're all there on the website now.

Don't most Xbox bundles contain digital codes and yet they're counted in sales (ACU, AC4, Titanfall...etc)?

Only GAME are bundling Horizon 2 I believe, which only started last week I think.

Thanks for doing the legwork and finding them. It's nice to finally some confirmation of how heavily the game is being bundled.

I've always assumed download codes don't count? Is that not the case?

Apologies if they do.

Yeah I thought the digital codes were included too, but when you said that they weren't I figured I was just mistaken.

Flipkart aka WS Retail to Exit the Gaming Retail Business

http://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/news/...g-retail-business-sources-668593?site=classic

The article has some interesting tidbits

"From what we know, they [Flipkart] bought inventory of the new Call of Duty of around 10,000 units across platforms," a sales manager at a local distributor told NDTV Gadgets. "While they sold 7,000 units. They're saddled with 3,000 units as excess inventory." He further claimed that the company has not bought any games from distributors or sub-distributors for the last three months.

As it stands, sources say Flipkart is saddled with a lot of excess inventory to the tune of 12,000 to 15,000 games. Of this gigantic inventory, a sizeable chunk belongs to CODAW.

While these may sound like ridiculously small numbers, when you consider that the entire India install base for the FIFA franchise, the most popular title in the country alongside GTA, is just 50,000 units, you get an idea about how small the Indian market really is. Given that, an inventory in double-digit thousands is toxic for any retailer in a country that's been slow on the uptake to video games as a form of entertainment.

Since then the online store has been quiet in terms of aggressive deals and discounts. That is until it managed to snag online exclusivity to CODAW late last year in retaliation to Destiny being an Amazon India exclusive. Destiny has been widely acknowledged as a sales bust what with being a game that requires you to be online all the time. History has shown us such games don't traditionally do well in India.

Sources claim that Amazon is stuck with inventory in the range of around 10,000 units. As for CODAW on Flipkart, moving 7,000 units is no mean feat but after the initial hype, sales tapered off. It's interesting to note that both had an initial MRP of Rs. 4,299 which is steep by local standards. The failure of these two high profile titles also means that in the future, supply and variety of other games available would be impacted.

"Flipkart was around 20 percent of the business [for most distributors]. That was before Amazon launched. After that, it was around 30-40 percent between the two. So yes, it's a big concern that they're exiting," an industry insider familiar with the situation told NDTV Gadgets.

Thanks for doing the legwork and finding them. It's nice to finally some confirmation of how heavily the game is being bundled.

I've always assumed download codes don't count? Is that not the case?

Apologies if they do.

I think only NPD doesn't include then but they do in the EU. Not 100 percent sure about that though

It's the 3rd week for The Order in Germany, 2nd week for DBZ Xenoverse and the 4th week for Evolve, Majora's Mask and MH4.

Nicely done, The Order.

The best ps4 deal at the moment is a bundle which includes The order

ps4 +a second controller +camera + the order for 449€

it's damn good deal, so it is probably helping the order to hold the position in the charta

Are the full game digital download cards that GAME sells counted in PAL charts? I'm guessing so since digital bundles count, just want to make sure.

is it bigger than UK market now?

Don't think so but not sure. Maybe someone from Sales Gaf with UK market insight can tell us.

edit: looking at this
It seems UK market is
£1.048bn billion digital software
£915m Hardware
And £935m in retail software
=
£2.898bn

*it differs what exactly is compiled in this category, therefore it's not a 1:1 comparison.

**note that I didn't include mobile revenues or fancy stuff like gaming toys, books, etc.

Anyway, UK is the bigger market. :p
Maybe prices and exchange rate helps, a better comparison would be unit sales maybe, but UK is still bigger.

Average exchance rate GBP in EUR = 1,2406

Notice that these numbers for Germany aren't actual market data (where they track retail numbers), it's just a projection of a survey (they asked about 25.000 people).
Real market data should be published in another report.

Thank you.
Hope to get actual retail numbers soon.

Look like Sony first party has failed to reap the success of PS4 yet.. i mean these are some very good numbers but i was expecting the one from Order or DC to match or exceed Infamous.

Not fair comparing new IP with established IP we should compare the order with the first Infamous game

You know EA screwed up real bad with NHL 15 when FIFA is selling better in Finland, where ice hockey is the biggest sport. And the domination of Minecraft never ends.

Battlefield 4 making the list is more surprising and a bit sad. The Premium Edition deal on PSN was absolutely excellent, but people are still paying more for retail copies without premium...

After 3 consecutive weeks of new IP No1’s (Evolve/The Order/Dying Light) it’s a return to the Top for ‘GTA V’ (+49%).

It's an 8th week at No1 since launch and the first since week 4 this year. The latest GTA still needs another 2 weeks at the top to equal the record for GTA series No1’s (held by GTA: Vice City for PS2, 10 weeks at No1, launched in week 45/2002, achieved in the first 11 weeks on sale). Warner’s ‘Dying Light’ (-43%) only drops to No2, EA’s ‘FIFA 15’ is stable at No3 (+1%) and Microsoft climb 2 places to No4 with ‘Minecraft: Xbox Edition’ (-1%).
After all the new IP we now have the release of some remastered HD editions / complete collections, with Capcom’s ‘DMC: Definitive Edition’ debuting at No5 for PS4/Xbox One and 505 Games’ ‘Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition’ new at No10 for PS3/PS4/360/Xbox One. The new ‘Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition’ release is itself right behind the 2 week old ‘Zombie Army Trilogy’ (No9) which is a stand -alone expansion of the award-winning Sniper Elite series – both games developed by Rebellion in the UK.
