How to deal with timeshare presentations?

I attended one of these in Vegas a few years ago for Windham Resorts. It ended up taking a good 3 or 4 hours to politely decline everything enough times, but we ended up getting a free 2-night stay at any of their resorts in the continental US, so it was worth it. We ended up using it to go to Universal Studios Orlando and stay very close to the park in a really nice suite.

Not worth it. Did it once never again. Time shares are a waste of money. There's a reason they have to incentivise people to slog through those presentations.

And half the time the incentives have strings attached.

Do they really?

Just because you have trouble with saying no doesn't mean you don't eventually say no. How many people still stay on the line when called by telemarketers? How many people allow the person standing outside of the store to talk to them for like 5 minutes before they say no?

Few people actually reject hard and fast.
