The Game Awards 2017 announced - Los Angeles, December 7

Zelda is gonna win GotY with like 80% of the votes of course, but for me personally, it's Nier.

Not gonna watch the show anyway though. It's been getting worse every year.

This is great news. I continue to be grateful that this industry has Geoff Keighley in it.

Obvious winner: Zelda
Game that should actually be the winner: Nier Automata.
But let's be real, the awards don't matter.

Hope there's some good reveals/surprises this year. Something Kojjma/Death Stranding seems like a given.

Halfway through the year and Night in the Woods remains my GOTY. NieR Automata is making a really good case to take it's place, though.

I hope both get recognition.

Maybe you missed out on seeing Schick Hydrobot. The mix of solemnity and hyper-crass commercialism in these shows is not what I'd call classy.

I know they need the ad revenue to continue running, but I hope we can see something other than razor commercials all darn night.

Awesome. They've gotten better every year. Kyle Bosman was fantastic last year. They just need to figure out how to integrate their advertisements and sponsors in less obvious/cringey ways.

I'm willing to let it slide because it's not free to put on an event like this. It'll continue to evolve and I'm sure the industry will find a solution one day. I meant the presentation from the actual event, not the ads surrounding it.

I think BotW has GOTY in the bag as the only game that could compete was delayed until next year (RDR2).

This could be the first time a Japanese developed game gets consensus GOTY since RE4 in 2005.

Last year was a cringefest beyond the worst various E3 conferences have given us. Has Geoff ever adressed that? Don't think so.
