Seeing the picture I was like no fucking way that happened, but watching the clip it's clear it was him intentionally being abrasive. Right off the bat he was shooting insults at his guest. It seemed like what would pass for conservative banter.

Ideally it's not, but in today's political climate and especially with Donald Trump I find that to be pretty naive for somebody pushing 70. I never saw that as a big deal though.
