GAF, I'm 25 now and I got questions about being a man

reminds me of the time when a drunken Dutch guy in his late thirties showed me nude pictures on his cellphone of his Thai "girlfriend" to equally drunken me in a bar on Ko Samui for god knows what reason, good memories good memories

I think it might be male bonding ritual, op

OP, I was a virgin until I was 29. You'll meet a person who doesn't give a shit and likes you for you, and then it happens. Hell, my first lived on the other side of the country and I met her on a business trip to Georgia. Sometimes it clicks.

And yeah, interest is bad. You end up paying back more than you borrowed (the entire reason it exists, as its a money-making proposition for the lender), so the sooner you pay it off the less you pay overall.

I'm 25, have social anxiety, feel like a kid. I keep trying at life though. Hope to get where I want to some day. Just really contemplate about what you want and set small goals as baby steps to reaching your ultimate goal. It's what I do on a daily basis. It's the best I can do being a pessimistic, cynical, sarcastic person.

Update: I'm 26 now, some of the things in the OP has changed some hasn't. I've turned somewhat into a degenerate now, but I do shave weekly, even though it always pulls but sometimes it's not that bad

i'm sorry .. what?.. your electric razor pulls? your hair?
i've used an electric razor all my life now and they only pull if they are defective.

Just get a new electric razor from Braun and not some kind of weird one with the 3 rotating blades or whatever. just a simple one for around 30-50 € and shave daily. dry. then use some aftershave or lotion.

do you still need help with other things? just hit me up with a pm or i can answer you here aswell.

If your razor pulls you're letting it grow out too much before shaving. If your electric has a trimmer side to it, use that first, then go back over with the regular blade. Personally, I try to shave every other day, and if I let it go much longer than that, I have to use this method to get the longer hairs down to a managable size.

Happy 26th! I hope you enjoy it. :)

Your razor shouldn't be pulling your hair. Either you're letting your hair get too long before you shave or your razor isn't working properly. Are you cleaning out your razor from time to time? Does your razor require oil at all (check the manual)?

How are you a degenerate? In what way?

1. An electric shaver is fine

2. That's not a normal, serious conversation topic for most adults. Maybe a drunken half-serious joke

3. I can't relate (I have been having sex since 13), but sex seems to be a very normal experience most of us have at rather young age. But just deal with it however you see fit.

4. Don't rely on GAF for this info. It's important. Ask someone who is paid to know these things

1. I don't shave, I'm 26 and for some reason I can only grow a light mustache and light goatee. So I only shave that peach fuss.

2. It's common for guys to brag about the sex they had with good looking girls. I really wouldn't think too much over it.

3. Although I lost my virginity at an early age, I'm still nervous every time I have sex with a new woman. So don't over think it. The more nervous you are, the sooner you'll pop. Just enjoy it when you reach that milestone.

4. Don't ever finance or get a credit card with high interest. If you can't get something finance due too lack of credit history, ask your parents to consign with you.

Deal with educating yourself on number 4 first. The rest of the stuff in your op is nowhere near as important.

Seriously, learn about interest and money ASAP.

Compound interest is scary, to put it in a dumb way, never ever borrow money from credit card, pay off balance every month, balance transfers to another card with lower interest is critical to your financial welfare.

Interest is how rich people make money with money, and how poor stay poor for generations. If you have a $5,000 debt in credit card with 20% interest, and took 2 years to pay it off, you will end up paying $6,107. This is excluding fees.

When it comes down to first time having sex, wear a condom. Because you don't know how long you might last and your pull out game will be weak af since it's your first time. So it's better to wear protection

But if you ever go unprotected, (some gaffers might disagree) but precum on the "first round" of sex does NOT get a girl pregnant.
This is truly terrible advice that borders on trolling.

1. No one is going to look down on you for using an electric shaver. However, shaving with a Mach3 or something is really pretty easy.

2. Say something like, "Nah dude I don't want to see the the ugly chicks you hooked up with" This gets your point across while not sounding like a total square.

3. Don't hold the act of sex or the person you might have sex with up on some pedestal or major achievement. Get it done and out of the way. You're still kinda young so I doubt many girls will have a problem with you being a virgin. Being 30 or so and still a virgin will probably throw up some red flags for some ladies.

4. Interest has been covered already not gonna bother going over it.

3. This last one is pretty personal but, for those of you wanting to find out another secret of mine,
other than my latest confession of not being an artisan in real life:

I haven't had sex yet. So yes, I am now the 25 year old virgin. I'm mentioning this because like, I have no idea when it will be, so fucked am I gonna be and how prepared should I be and what not...you know?

I am 25 turning 26 soonish. Haven't had sex yet either. So your not alone and don't worry about it.

edit: Just noticed when this was originally posted.

1. No, using an electric shaver makes no difference and hairs "poking through" is.. just nonsense. Hair doesn't grow back in darker when you shave it, either. Electric shavers can cause some people to break out or get razer burn, but other razors and blades can cause other people to break out. It has much more to do with your skin than anything else. THere are no strict, universal rules to shaving.

2. I can't help you here, that's weird and not really normal. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, but it's fine to feel uncomfortable or weirded out by that. I think it's more common amongst young people to talk about that. I'm on a basketball team with younger guys, early to mid 20s, and whenever we go out for beers, one or two of the younger guys will start boasting about getting laid or screwing some girl... And, first of all, I'm old enough to know they're almost definitely lying, second, who cares. But I think there are certain young people who define their self-worth by how many people they sleep with and because they value their self-worth by that, they feel the need to share that with other people they want to impress.

3. It doesn't matter, you do you.

4. Interest is an additional fee that you have to pay back on top of taking a loan. If you take out a loan for $100 with 10% interest and the terms of that loan have you pay back the loan after a period (let's say, a year), then at the end of the year, you'd pay back $110. The $10 is like a fee the lender charges you for giving you money up front.

Most interest isn't over a year, it's over a month, and so if you have a credit card that is, say, 12% APR, that's actually 1% of interest per month that you carry a balance. So, if you carry a $100 balance on that card every month (e.g., you have $100 that you haven't paid back), then your interest will be $1 per month (12% / 12 months = 1% per month).

#1 Electric shaver
Nothing wrong with using an electric shaver. Not knowing how to shave with a razor is nothing to feel bad about if you're content with the job your electric shaver does.

#2 Naked girl pictures guy
Hard to say. In a way it depends on where you are in the world and culture.
Where I am, this would be completely unacceptable and reporting such action in the workplace would have the person fired quickly.
If anything, it makes the guy look more insecure about his masculinity than you.

#3
Virgin
Nothing wrong with it.
'Game'
is not an indication of masculinity.

#4 Interest
Interest is a fee you pay on your loan. If you borrow 1000$ with a 10% annual fee, that means you are paying 100$ to borrow 1000$ if you repay everything in a year.
The higher the amount of interest you have to pay, the less you are actually reimbursing the loan itself (you always pay interest FIRST and then once that's cleared you are putting money on the loan itself).

Being a man is simple

You must be swift as a coursing river

With all the force of a great typhoon

Have all the strength of the raging fire

Be mysterious as the dark side of the moon

Remember all that and you should be good.

But seriously happy birthday and good luck. I'll be 25 soon too so I'm right there with you

Lmao, came for this

im close to the same about to turn 25

i use a normal razor but if it works it works

2 tell him?

3. me neither and its kinda frustrating...

Looking for meaning in GAF
1. I don't think it's bad. It's not as close as other razors but it's more convenient, and it gets the job done. I alternate between safety razors if I want a really nice shave (nice occasions), and cheap disposable shit if I just want a quick shave and don't really care (work). Watch your budget on razors. They can cost a fucking arm and honestly I've done fine before just buying a big pack of cheap disposable razors from Costco.

2. That's highly inappropriate of that guy and it's normal to feel weirded out about it. You could try to get him to stop by telling you're not really into it/kinda weirded out by it.

3. Doesn't matter one bit. Being a virgin is not a badge of shame, and sleeping with someone is not a badge of honor that needs to be paraded around and bragged about. Treat sex however you want, but there's no need to feel ashamed about being a virgin. When dealing with someone you like, being honest about not knowing what you're doing is probably better than trying to act like some big shot.

4. Interest is an additional cost that goes on top of your loan. Say you took out a $1000 loan. If that loan charges 10% interest per month, that means every month you have to pay 10% of that $1000, which is $100. So if you paid back that $1000 after a month, you have to pay $1100 instead of just $1000.

That's why interest is bad, and should be avoided as much as possible.

So you had the conflict between "I want to be friendly with the guy" and " i don't want to watch pornographic content at work". I could draw conclusions from his behaviour but in the end I can't really know, maybe he is a cool dude. Why not just be positive towards everyone and try to fit into every conversation.

I've known people like this and regardless of my personal preference to fucking not share stuff like that it turned out they were pretty fun to hang around sometimes.

#3
Whatever, I've been "late" too and it doesn't matter too much. You can go completely blind or you can prepare.
If you ask good friends of yours, who you know have a girlfriend for example, I think they would appreciate it actually and it's an interesting conversation anyways.
Otherwise just look for tips on how to go down on girls on the internet.

Hope you can soon proudly watch this

And yeah, interest is bad. You end up paying back more than you borrowed (the entire reason it exists, as its a money-making proposition for the lender), so the sooner you pay it off the less you pay overall.

This isn't ENTIRELY true.

Depending on the loan if the interest is low enough you may not want to pay it down immediately.

For instance, if you have a home loan at 3.5% but also an investment fund that averages 7%, it's better for you to put money into the investment fund than it is to allocate extra money to pay off the home early.

Really simple example but you get the point. This is also why it's better to finance a car at 2% or whatever even if you have the cash to buy it upfront. That 20k or so could be making you 7, 8, or 9% a year.

Is this still the case for you a year later? As someone who had sex for the first time later than most, my advice is to treat dating like a part-time job. Start online dating. Don't be desperate for sex, but try to push yourself in a direction that increases the chances of sex happening. That's what I did, and my first time was kind of a surprise.

Happy Birthday OP. 25 is a good age. Now lets go:

1. You can shave with whatever you like, only make sure it is good for you. Go to amazon, look for a nice electric shaver or buy a good razor, use some cream, and shave slow and gently.

2. You have all the rights to say NO to your creepy womanizer co-worker. Don't ever betray your essence, your feelings and your beliefs because you want to be "part of the bros" to "crush it" and make more money.

This is a bad example:

I'll give you an example.

One of the companies I worked for had a decent sized-group hired at one time. During the first week, some of us got invited to go out drinking by some of the top people at the company. A couple people couldn't do it because they had kids at home or left early. And I think the rest wanted to be "professional" or didn't feel comfortable thinking they may embarrass themselves? I partied with them the entire night. Closer to the end of the night they felt I was "just one of the bros", and did coke right in front of me saying "Hey normally we wouldn't do this around a new hire but we like you. Don't say anything though".

Guess who got the promotion when it came up? The other guys were just as qualified (well some of them).

Don't be the guy who isn't a part of that because it may not be what you're into or don't feel exactly comfortable.

don't ever sacrifice your core beliefs or betrayed yourself. BE YOU

3. Sex is just sex, being a virgin at 25 is normal and you and million of people with your age are. Don't overrated it, don't overthink it. Nice Women do not care about that at all.

4. The first post nailed it. Let say you have 10 dollars debt with an interest of 1%, now you have to pay 11 dollars. So credit cards work like this: you purchase a 1000 dollars item with interest of 2,0% and you decide you pay that item in 12 month, every month. The bank will divide those 1000 by 12 month, and each month the will deduce of your account that sum plus the interest.

If you prefer an electrical razor just use that. If it 'tugs' check to see if the shaving head is due to be replaced. If you're not shaving daily you may want to use the trimmer before you shave. If I've gone a while without shaving I'll notice a slight tugging if my whiskers are longer then stubble.

This is absolutely true. I think we're getting a little complicated here, though, considering where the OP stands.

1. I use a beard trimmer at the shortest setting. But I used to use a non-electric razor. Like others said, it's easy. Pro-tip: shave against the grain for a smoother feel.

2. That guy's an asshole. Most dudes don't share that shit.

3. I was around your age when it happened. Hard not to stress about it, but try not to focus all your attention there; it'll backfire. Go date. You'll figure it out.

4. Interest sucks. Always work towards being debt-free. If you use a credit card, pay it off in full each month. As for loans... it's tough, but be vigilant.

edit: shiiiiiit, I didn't see that this thread was a year old. Whatever. I hope things have improved, kid, and that you're getting the best shave of your life.

It is WAY easier to shave either with an electric razor or not with one AFTER you take a hot shower. So much easier it is insane. Many guys don't know this trick.

This is how I always do it. It just glides; So much easier. I really don't know how someone can put up with shaving on dry skin.

1. I didnt use a proper shaver till I was like 26. As a result, I look a lot younger for my age. I used a trimmer actually but not an electrical shaver because that can give you a worse look

2. That guy is probably a virgin too

3. Doesn't matter man. Trust me; that can actually be a major plus point with chicks who find that endearing and a reflection of your self-control. Good things come to those who wait. Don't feel pressured, especially considering your faith- its good.

4. Scorpio

1. I don't use electric shavers personally but you can't really be "taught" how to shave traditionally. You just sort of do it till you learn how to properly get into the contours of your face and neck without evicerating yourself. There is a reason teenagers with tissue on their face is a stereotype. You can probably find a tutorial online if you really don't get the basics.

2. If you feel like its important to be friends and part of the social circle with your co-workers then go ahead and play along with them for now. Usually they'll chill after a while, right now they are probably just trying to feel out the boundaries of their relationship with you. If it persists or gets more intense than you are interested in just tell them to back off. Most people understand when they've crossed a line.

3. Don't worry about technique or performance your first time. Just do what comes natural. Sex is like one of the most very basic natural instincts; you might not know how to do it, but your brain does. You aren't going to be some sort of porn star sex God your first time so don't even worry about that. I assume you are at least familiar with the technical aspects.

4. Interest is how money lenders profit. They give you money, then require you to pay extra money on top of what they lent to you back to them. The longer you take to do it, the more interest you will owe. You generally want lower interest rates on things like car or house payments. On the flip side, interest paid to you via a bank account is a good thing. It's the bank incentivizing you to keep your money there.

Congrats on making it to 1/4 of a hundred!

Don't try any weird/freaky shit for your first time. ( Assuming you are a straight man) It's going to be hard enough knowing where to stick your dick in. Unless she has her legs straight out showing you everything, it's not exactly obvious where the hole is.

Sex life isn't really important to anyone really. Woman do appreciate experience, but its not a deal breaker. The important thing is to mingle and everything will fit in place.

1) Shaving with an electric razor is fine for the most part and it isn't going to fuck up your face. Shaving with a razor ain't for everyone and is tedious and overrated.

2) You gotta be more assertive about that kind of thing and politely tell the dude that he's fuckin' weird for approaching you about that.

3) Don't worry too much about it cause no one's really great at it until later. Whoever you share this experience with, just don't lie, but open and honest.

4) Interest is money charged to a loan amount, usually a percentage. That money accrues over time. So say you have a $100 load with 5% interest every month. If you don't make any payments on the loan you will accrue an extra 5 dollars per month on top of the $100 you have to pay back. January is 105, Feb is 110.25, etc etc. It gets more complicated than that with APR and Fed Rates but that's the basics.

1. I use a razor, I think it's better.

2. I think stuff like this is fine (not morally fine, but not weird) if you two are really good friends. In this case it probably wasn't ok

3.
Ha I knew it
Don't worry about that. When it happens just trust your animal instincts. You'll learn the rest as you go.

4. This is by far the most pressing issue facing you rn. You're paying more at an exponential rate.

Happy birthday dude

The nice thing about interest is that you can use it to your advantage.

You can invest in index funds that provide a form of "interest" based on the stock market. You can loan money to others (not recommended unless you can afford to lose it) and ask for interest back...there are even services that take some of the risk out of this like Reddit and Lending Club. You can buy appreciating assets like land and sell them later for a higher profit.

Interest is just a way of saying that the lender gets more money than the person borrowing puts in.

As far as shaving goes, I used this guide to learn how to wet shave. Saves you a fair bit of money, & after a while, you'll be able to get more consistent clean shaves that will make you look like a million bucks. (The rest of that blog has some great practical guides to look at, so feel free to check them out.)

As for the creep you've mentioned, just politely tell him that you're busy & have more important things to do than look at porn at the work place.

And don't worry about being a virgin, as we all have to start somewhere. Don't make it a big deal, as dating consists of pairing off with someone in a temporary commitment so you can get to know the person better and perhaps start a long term relationship with them. And the first few dates don't have to be expensive or complicated, either, as it can be an informal date (a la going out for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat).

Good luck.
