Monolith (Shadow of War) hiring for "Social/Connected Game Experience","online focus"

Given the loot crates in Shadow of War, I thought this was probably a sign they were switching toward multiplayer centric games in the future, and it sounds like that's probably true?

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Monolith Productions seeks a Senior Producer to be responsible for overseeing our Social and Connected Game Experience. This Key team member will help create and champion the vision of the Connected Experience and ensure it aligns with the project's leadership goals. The Senior Producer will be accountable for the quality and results that are achieved for assigned features.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help create and champion the vision of the Connected Experience and Online Features of the game.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 3-6 years experience working as a Producer in the on an internal development team within the videogame industry.
  • Shipped at least 1 title with an online focus.

I think this could easily unify Shadow of War and other games like Injusice 2. Sounds like they want an ecosystem that will span and connect the entire slate of games, possibly akin to Bethesda.net.

After thinking about it a bit, I remembered there was a previous job posting like this (that was apparently over two years ago now) that explicitly suggested it was a game.

Passport eligibility preferred.

We are looking for people who play games and understand why they love playing them.
Good communications skills, a friendly and open nature, and an active and curious mind.
Ability to evaluate designs and content for visual impact, brand guidelines, and UX best practices.

Self-motivated, driven individual who prefers working in a fast-paced environment.
A minimum of 5 years' designing games or online social features
Experience in user interface and interaction design with representative wire-frames or mock-ups.

I suspect they just started Shadow of War before realizing the direction of the industry and ended up dumping some of this work in there in the meantime via the loot crates, before they transition to a service game studio.
