Per head, the UK must be one of, if not, the largest, markets in the world. Even though France has a similar population and is the second largest market in Europe, its totally dwarfed by the Uk.

Not that I'm surprised, but Germany has pretty low numbers considering it has almost 2x times the population of Spain and a higher income (82 vs. 45 million).

It must be taken into account that people in Spain receive christmas gifts both on December, 25th and January, 6th, so the numbers should be higher there.

Thing is that A LOT of people buy the console just because of its name, because *by definition* PS3 is the most advance system on the market in their mind (of course mainly to play Pro Evo 2k8!).
I'm not implying that Wii/360 customers are gaming connaisseur at all, i'm all for good games and not into system wars (and PS3 wille be so mine the day LittleBig comes out!)... but that is pretty much reality over here, c'mon.

I'd guess that these software sales are the results of the weekly panel, so the 'real' software sales should be much higher than that actually (there is also the monthly panel, which has a higher coverage of the market and these numbers apparently haven't been released yet).

Exactly. France and UK are known as consoles stronghold and they show it this gen again. Italy has significant low sales overall, even lower than spain, yet the population is bigger. =/
