PC gaming guru Bob (Fragamemnon) joins us again for this episode as we hold a rally for wacky protestors, present the Beer Yin to balance the Wine Yang of last episode, give away a copy of Killzone 2, and let a giant robot pee oil all over Doug (Drinky).

Segment One: So, This Donkey And This Elephant Walk Into A Tea Bar...

No matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, there's always plenty to laugh at when it comes to stupid protestors. We take a look at why modern protests never work, how the babbling of the lunatic fringe drowns out the voices of reason, and offer up some of our listener's (as well as our own) wild-eyed encounters with the void.

Segment Two: Overtime At Shotz Brewery

(35:22) We present some suggestions for "anytime" beer and beer/food pairings, talk about first experiences with the beverage, list the worst brews we've ever washed down our gullets, and spin a few tales of wretched excess.

Segment Three: Win Killzone 2, The Borecast Playlist...also, Robot Urine

(1:16:38) WIN KILLZONE 2 - We're giving away a copy of PS3 favorite KZ2, listen for the simple entry rules.

BORECAST PLAYLIST - This episode we talk about recent (and not-so-recent) games we've been playing, offering up our recommendations and warnings - future installments will include Books, Movies, Music, Tech Gadgets, etc.

Games discussed this segment: The Dark Spire (Nintendo DS), Sacred 2 (PC), Fallout 3: The Pitt (PC), Left 4 Dead Survival Mode (PC), Battlefield Heroes (PC), Battleforge (PC), Elven Legacy (PC)

INDEFENSIBLE - Bob drops a load of Michael Bay and a squirt of LaBeouf on top of unsuspecting Doug in this installment.

The winner of the Killzone 2 contest will be announced on the next episode (May 11th). See you then!

Finally jumping in due to the promise of robot urine, but also after a copy of Killzone 2 :lol

A pre-emptive thanks for provided time-stamped segments in each weeks post. Very useful and very professional. I like!

Just want you guys to know that I was halfway through a bench press at the gym when Doug started talking about deep-throating the Wii remote for a new porn game. I came close to decapitating myself with the bar.

Adding to the playlist.

how do I slip unnoticed out of a gloryhole booth?
So does mead get a mention in this Beerfest or are you holding off for a full episode special?

Mead gets mentioned once, I think.

Question for those listening - I'm not entirely satisfied with the sound when I compress the show down to 64kbps. It tends to give it a harsh edge, and it sounds a bit more natural at 96kbps. Compressing it to 96kbps would make the mp3 file 1.5 times larger, though. So, would you all rather I keep the file size down, or would you rather have a bit better audio with a 85mb file size? I really don't know how noticeable it is to everyone else, so I'm curious.

I'm not going to talk about mead. It's barely drinkable, and only so when you throw in crazy additives.

Other people will disagree, but no one on the podcast did. :) Besides, there isn't a wide enough spectrum to cover both wine and beer. If anything, the next foodie topic should be about "how to stop eating at fast food joints and chain sit-downs", where the Borecast team gives you hints and tips on how to get your convenience food out of the gutter.

Watched it. My thoughts:

1) This segment did a pretty good job explaining why protests don't work except for comic fodder. Personally I think most people do it to add more meaning to their lives. They feel holding up a sign that says "Fur is Murder" is an accomplishment. Yes, a lot of these people go into these things hoping they'll get hated on. To them, it just makes them think their cause is just if they can get some redneck or hippie to go up against them.

As for the line of racist, sexist obscenities shouted at me at my school, it was usually just calling people a couple of names. I went to the organization's website and it is still up so looks like they won't be stopping any time soon.

2) Good segment. I have to admit that a couple of years ago, I dabbled into getting into some various types of beer. A friend of mine and I would order in various beers from all over the place. The best one was when he made a run to Colorado and came back with some excellent microbrewery beer. I've since then reverted back to cheap easy drinks (Olde English, Franzia, etc.). Almost made me nostalgic for my beer snob days of old.

3) I like the "What are you playing bit." The indefensible portion was genius because Frag restricted Megan Fox from the discussion. Pure evil.

Good episode

I felt bad about using something so tee-ball as Transformers, but due to certain logistical issues that's what we wound up with.

I think listener-submitted Indefensibles would be a great idea, as it opens up the spectrum to things outside the nerd milieu, if you will.

You hateful dogs... Disrespecting the blood in my veins!

Great show besides that one (albeit severe) fuck-up.

Hahaha, "God-King of Mesopotamia" got me.

Man, the microphone sure loves your voice. I don't know if it was intentional, but that sounded just like those "Minute Movies" reviews I used to hear on weekend radio years ago.

Rick Santorum's political career

Protests are like conferences for part-time activists. It's mostly about the parties and networking.

The comedy of Katherine Jean Lopez's posts in 2006 alone makes his career defensible!

We make an effort not to veer too much into politics else (with one exception) it becomes a socialist circle-jerk.

Fun episode. I was actually compelled to produce my own satirical defense of Bayformers.
