FIFA FUCKING 09 IS 2ND ON THE PSP CHART. FOR F**KS SAKE. :lol

right. now that thats over, are there any other big surprises on that list? fifa 09 was the one that stood out to me :D

edit: where is chinatown wars on the psp chart? f**ks sake.

Honestly, the success that Assassins Creed continues to experience is baffling to me. I have no idea why its become such a massive franchise with ludicrous sales potential. Arkham Asylum being quite low down is quite surprising to me, as I thought that game did really well throughout the backend of the year :S

It's a good game that is far more interesting than a generic shooter like UC2.

Assassin's Creed II releases later than Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 and outsells them both.

WTF is wrong with UK gamers?

I think the bigger surprise is LBP outselling COD WaW and Resident Evil 5 on PS3 last year. Especially RE5.

Forza 3 did really well to get 14th on the all formats chart, selling better than ODST, Killzone 2, Resi 5 and Uncharted 2 to name a few.

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
Somewhat surprised ODST didn't make the top 20. It had like the 13th largest all time launch.

Atleast Halo 3 made the 360 chart.

Err, but that trend is pretty much true for all regions. I'm not sure why you find this outrageous or surprising. Does Modern Warfare's success also cause this sort of reaction?

I'm pretty sure Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 have outsold Assassin's Creed (PS3) in the US, but we'll have to see next month's NPD figures to be certain for the entire year.

Uncharted 2's first month > Assassin's Creed 2's first month in the US.

holy crap, FIFA 09 sold more than PES 2010 last year???

No doubt the downloadable version of PES 2010 cut into UMD sales... OH WAIT

Holy hell, the PSP's list is full of ancient games. Only seven out of that top twenty was released last year. The fact that years old GTA games, and freaking Tekken 5 outsold Resistance, Dissidia, Invizimals (which apparently got a pretty large marketing push) and Monster Hunter is sad.

:lol

and that includes all versions. Crazy. I can't believe how badly Konami has run PS3/360 PES into the ground. The Wii/PSP/PS2 versions are still ace, though. Unfortunately, you aren't going to get millions of sales from those versions.

As for a PSPgo version..go figure that Konami wouldn't put a football/soccer title on PSN that many are asking for in EU and US. Maybe PES 2011? I'm actually having a good time with FIFA 10 (once I forgot PES existed) so it's Konami's loss.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
No M&L3 in the DS chart. :\

I hope it did well in other regions of Europe...

GAF's Bob Woodward
07. Littlebigplanet

:bow highest-ranking non 2009 PS3 game :bow

And the rest of the non-2009 charters are mostly the usual suspects - Call of Dutys, Fifa, GTA.

That's what I call a marketing-fail!

Forza 3 the only 360 or PS3 exclusive in the top 20. And no.14 at that.

<3 UK gamers.

Forza 3 being there is great, but being the only one is pretty facking awful given the quality of 'HD' exclusives lately. Kind of sad really. But c'est la wii-domination.

I've always said the UK LBP sales were great, due to the continued marketing and great adverts and bundles. It just provides a stark contrast to the US where it flopped really.

For reference Rhythm Paradise (number 20 in that chart) got the 100,000 sales award in December 2009 so you can say the sales figure is about 100,000 (well 1xx,xxx). You can use the ELPSA sales awards to pin some rough numbers onto the charts (but remember if a game came out in 2008 try to bare in mind its 2008 sales...), I might do that when I get home.

Oh yeah as for Mario and Luigi 3. I recall it being pretty low in the DS specific charts or even absent when it launched. I've never seen a copy in the high street so its lack of result is no surprise.

I like the way Modern Warfare 1 is still there two years after release; despite both WaW and Moden Warfare 2 being released

Great for Forza.
Just shows how much we still like our racers in the UK, I just wonder if it's stolen some of GT5's thunder. Then again, doesn't seem to matter how many racers come out over here, if they are good, they still sell like gang busters.

Forza being above ODST is a surprise. FM3 was included in a lot of store bundles, but then I recall seeing ODST in quite a few bundles too.

Assassin's Creed 2 has done very well as well, I'll have to get around to playing it at some point. For all of AC1's flaws, there was still a good game underneath the endless repetition.

LBP was on sale for 10 quids for a good portion of the year
