The necessity to buy new plastic peripheral every year killed the platic instrument fad. Took a lot of room and all that.

Dance games don't require anything more than a kinect/wiimotes/move controllers so they'll be fine.

Dance games don't require anything more than a kinect/wiimotes/move controllers so they'll be fine.

Its still 3 games in 3 years. HMX is milking the Dance game genre just as bad as they milked the plastic instruments genre. But this is selling when that didnt.

Ubisoft and Majesco do the same think and it's been working fine for them. Heck Ubisoft publishes multiple Just Dance game a year if you count all the spin-offs and DLC repackaging...

And nvm about DC 2 underperforming, I just saw that it sold 1.6 mil (well that's what wikipedia says...). Considering Harmonix has nothing else, it's understandable they're trying to milk this.

ugh, i really want a more traditional harmonix game like frequency/amplitude. i hope they use the success from the dance central games to fund a more interesting psn/xbl amplitude spinoff.

That didn't kill Rock Band/Guitar Hero/Band Hero/etc.
It was that it was the same over and over again gameplay-wise.

Harmonix announced today that Dance Central 3 will be available in stores on October 16th in U.S., Canada and Latin America, and October 19th in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Dance Central 3 will include 40 songs total.
