They didn't have the www when I first started going online.
It was all telnet this, gopher that. No mouse, ASCII images only, loading animation was just \ | / - characters looping over and over.
Edit: my dad bought the fastest modem available at the time, a 14.4k but I'm pretty sure our connection couldn't even handle that.
This takes me back, man. I hope the guy who made this went on to do other things, he's got talent.
