‘Watch Dogs’ (-47%) comfortably holds on to No1 for a third consecutive week

It's a quiet time for the industry with gamers distracted by the World Cup, now underway in Brazil. It is therefore not surprising that EA’s ‘2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil’ (+16%) is the Top 10’s highest climber, up from No6 to No2, ahead of ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’ (-21%) which sneaks up one place to No3. ‘Mario Kart 8’ (-33%) is only a hundred sales behind as it slips from No2 to No4. ‘FIFA 14’ (-26%) doesn’t get the same boost as its World Cup stable mate, but still manages to hold on to No5, while EA’s non-footballing title ‘Titanfall’ (+1%) does well to jump 3 places to No6, perhaps strengthened by reports of it getting a big update this month.

Both Minecrafts are non-movers with the Playstation 3 Edition (-16%) still at No7 and the Xbox 360 Edition (-8%) still teetering at No10. ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ remains a strong Top 10 performer, holding on to No8 with sales only dipping by 11%. In its second week, sales of Square’s ‘Murdered: Soul Suspect’ fall by 52% positioning it at No9. Despite it being a quiet week, there is still room for a new entry with CI Games (formerly City Interactive) debuting at No19 with World War II themed FPS ‘Enemy Front’.

That's what happened in other countries, at least on amazon June best selling rankings.

Assuming the drop for WD was similar across all platforms the PS4 version still sold roughly double of mk8 for this week.

MK8 was 4th last week, and it's held while everything apart from WD PS4 dropped places. That's not indicative of raw numbers since even PS4 WD dropped 47% and still held onto number 1 but I thought that it's only a matter of time before it too drops and MK8 doesn't seem to be following the tend of the other sku's of WD which all dropped spots.

inFamous needs a pricecut, a quick glance on Amazon shows me it's £47.

Sony need to be more competitive with their exclusives if they want them to have any legs.

Killzone: Shadow Fall I can get on Amazon for £25, and Knack for £27. That's far more reasonable.

Tomodachi Life is impressive.

MK8 has a very slim shot at getting to #1 individual, but its more likely that one of the Minecrafts will take it if anything dethrones PS4 Watch Dogs before new games come out.

I was pleased to be wrong about my prediction of number 30.

But I can't help but shake the thought that water rises in a sinking ship. i.e. it is going up in the charts as its sales are more stable than those around it (who probably fell in sales).

Those two were also launch titles.

I'm sure inFAMOUS will drop in price soon but like you I'm surprised it's been full price for this long. The last Sony game I remember being full price for a long time was The Last of Us.

Perhaps not the best way to judge, but the complete lack of bumps for any XBO game suggests that the new sku didn't do much.

Edit:my bad, missed FIFA. Might have a little I guess.

it seems MK8 is in the high part of the estimated gaps, around its upper limit.

FIFA moved up on PS4 too. Purely World Cup taking its effect here. The distinct lack of any mention or games bump is a little interesting.

So you think, 22k out of 39k were sold on PS4? I think that's very unlikely, considering the good positions for the other versions of Watch Dogs. Sales are probably shifting from current to last gen for Watch Dogs.

Killzone and Knack came out 4+ months before Infamous.

Is it the first Wii U game that hasn't dropped like a rock after the first week on these charts?

If only we had some splits about Watch Dogs, we could estimate how the several SKUs are selling. The only thing we can extrapolate, now, is that both 360 and One SKU sold less than 11,000 (meaning a WOW drop bigger than 32% for them). And we just have a sales gap for Minecraft PS3, not a concrete number :p

I don't mind being proven wrong or stupid, hell its 11am right now and I haven't slept all night so I'm bound to be clumsy and say stupid shit. Just let me know with hard numbers and I'll have to agree. I'm not even going to do any fact checking for your numbers, because you seem to know more about them than me.

WD seems to be doing really well in any case on PS4, I wonder how TLOU will shake things up. It's far off, but I'm also interested in GTAV on PS4 too. 11k for MK8 seem good considering this is the UK and this is it's 3rd(?) week.

I'm not too surprised to see Mario Kart 8 doing so well, I worked retail when the Wii was mega popular in the UK and saw Mario Kart Wii sell out for months at a time along with the console.

Even in non-Nintendo UK, Mario Kart seems to still be a system seller.
