Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes [Impressions from Nasu]

Play Magazine’s Sam Smith was more precise on what kind of completion percentage you’re going to by finishing the game in 90 minutes:
"Finished GZ for the first time in about 90 minutes. Total game completion? 9%. I think that tells you all you need to know."
Sure does, 9% story, 91% time trials+collectibles

I still think the game should be priced more like:

Download: $19.99 / £12.99
Blu-ray: $29.99 / £19.99

Good. I hope people will comment on the bulk of the other 91%.

GROUND ZEROES HAS NO CARDBOARD BOXES:OOOOOOOOO

According to this, both the ! and c box will be in Phantom Pain.

I guess we're being setup from GZ to try and use other means of stealth.

#MGSVGZNASU Fox Engine's facial animations are the best in the industry.
Unless the animations are completely different to what I've seen so far in Ground Zeroes, I can't believe this.

MGS "fans" in 2008: "Too much story, barely any gameplay, long and boring codecs."

MGS "fans" in 2014: "Ugh no one cares about side missions, no emphasis on story, collectathon"

MGS fans are the new Silent Hill fans.

I've never cared about useless side missions or collectibles or anything of that nature. MGS has always been about playing through the story and various locales for me.

Seriously. Some of these people are ridiculous.

I will never trust tweets from random people who @ companies and use hashtags in their posts. That screens of marketing or runaway fandom to me or people overly excited at the opportunity to play something early.

9% for the main mission, with only 5 side-ops? something doesn't add up.

i figure a lot of that percentage is going to be dull arbitrary tacked on content.

>come into thread expecting to see positive reactions to good news
>instead see three pages of people moaning about the lack of a cardboard box

Who know what we'll see in TTP.

I get you're talking about GZ, but at least GZ is supposed to be the taste, and TTP is supposedly way bigger.

Yeah I know, I'm just talking about Ground Zeroes.

Still, Phantom Pain with no David Hayter is a HUGE disappointment for me.

What are the chances that they release this now, and then when the full MGSV game is released they include this as some sort of pre-order bonus/premium priced ultimate edition?

How long did Kojima say we have to wait until MGSV is released?

Right now Second Son is looking to be the best at that very technique so unless this game's superior to that, I'm calling no go on this.

As regards of the box, it probably be fine without one since you're playing in a rainy night so the box is gonna get soggy and useless eventually...if there is any dry days though...

Though, that Nasu dude seriously considered % of a completion list a metric? What the hell...

It could always end up being something like 10% for a complete mission, 15% for an S-rank, or something like that.

yeah, but that makes those tweets more than just a bit disingenuous as it implies a wealth of extra content when effectively it's just 5 side-ops and some collecting elements

No Hayter is the best thing ever. Guy always sounded forced with his VA work.

If only there was some kind of voice director that could've said "actually David, try to reel it back in a bit there, you're getting a bit overboard with things." Maybe one day in the future that will be a role that people have in production of things that involve voice over work.

Can't fucking wait for this guys... even though it's only 90 mins.. down to pay $40 even tho that's a little pricey (i'd only do it for MGS)

I'm really glad kojima improved the controls and frame rate... MGS4 felt too clunky imo. I can already tell this is a lot more fluid and silky smooth.

MGSV + FFXV.... the reason I got a PS4. Every other game is irrelevant!!
Yeah that's the best news I've heard. Something about the MGS4 controls were just stiff and imprecise. I never felt like I had complete control like I did with MGS2. Hype is through the roof now, cannot wait.

Ha! That's pretty good. I'm not in the camp that believes David Hayter makes or breaks these games, but he does receive quite a bit of criticism for performances that his higher-ups approved of (or at least accepted) for their final product.
