Ouch for ms, wondering what they'll do. Don't think they can do much though. Expect to see more 3rd party games skipping the xb1.

No but, really?

2:1 in the US is fucking nuts.

Why is it nuts? Think about what has happened. We have a system 100 cheaper, with a razor consistent message since February 2013, who continues to focus on the gamers who are usually the early adopters, with a system that is more powerful for that cheaper value, who receives every superior multiplatform port and, unlike Xbox One, has been supply constrained for months now showcasing clear preference.

Not only is a lot of these factors comparable to the reasons for PS3's early failure, but Microsoft's messaging continues to be a mess, and there's seemingly no end in sight.

microsoft is a joke... you can spin it around as you like with all your fancy press releases, but gamers buy the ps4 over the xbone because its the better game console and its 100€ cheaper.

This reads like a fanboy wrote it man,

I choose whatever console provides me with the best exclusives and other features. That is yet to be seen by both.

Press Releases are what they are. Controlled messages with the sole point of highlighting the positives of a company performance.

Kinda yeah. MS flooded NA with Xbones and PS4 is still very much supply-constrained.

2:1 is shocking actually.

I mean, when we see "buy an XOne and get 2 games free" deals popping up fairly regularly, you know there's supply that isn't being moved.

I'm not really surprised, tbh.

Well I guess we got our answer to whether Xbone would drop off a cliff after Nov/Dec.

It's almost eerie how similar is it to Wii U, except on a more successful scale.

We'll see what happens with Titanfall, but since the game was announced I was unconvinced it was a killer app for any system, and I hold by that view. It'll sell a decent clip between PC, 360 and Xbox One, but nothing that'll set worlds on fire.

Yep. It'll do decent numbers but that's pretty much it. It won't help hardware sales as much as say Gears did back in 2006.

Microsoft fucked up. Now, they have to use "Xbox" family PR to claim most software sold. Next time, don't release a much weaker and more expensive console.

Things will get even uglier a few years from now, price dropped standard PS4's for $299 and small HDD PS4's for $249 would blow a gigantic hole through Microsoft's Xbox ship.

y'all should be ashamed
Where's that guy proclaiming the end of Sony if they didn't reveal more of their 2014 lineup immediately? hehehe

Out of curiosity, do we know how last generation consoles (and PS2 for that matter) did in their first January on the market?

I found one on gumtree for £280, completely boxed. Crazy times.

I've actually heard of a few people picking uo Xbone's for dirt cheap (second hand) like you did from Ebay and other places.

I was actually going to make a thread about it. When the price bottoms out of a system this quickly after it launched it must be worrying for MS.

I knew of someone that bought (again second hand) an Xbone, a copy of Battlefield 4 and a controller etc, etc for under £300. Crazy indeed.

More money, less power and tons of bad press pre-launch. Anybody who didn't expect results like this quite frankly were not paying attention.

Needs a price cut and needs 2-3 great games to generate word-of-mouth so people who wrote off the xbone already decide to take a 2nd look at it.

Is this bad? I mean, what does it realistically mean for Xbox owners such as myself. Should I be concerned about those rumors of MS nixing the xbox division? Whomever sells more, more power to them as I don't know how it will affect me. I don't want to be left with a brick at the end of the day though because I do like what Xbox is offering. As long as they don't drop it I am happy with whatever the result is.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
No matter what they have said in the past, if the numbers are accurate, they will drop Kinect. I could not see another way to boost sales.

February is going to be even worse for Microsoft. At this rate I don't see Xbox One beating PS4 in March if Sony puts decent marketing behind Infamous: Second Son.

Expect Microsoft to whip out all their cards on the table this E3. They are behind worldwide, losing their best markets and Sony is doubling their sales in the US. They know they have to throw everything including the kitchen sink to get some momentum going or they could be stuck in a funk for awhile. Keep in mind, Sony is doing all of this without any big time exclusives launched and no earth shaking software shown to the public. Its all being done on potential.

Ummm I think the e3 lineup leak was the kitchen sink. Hard to wow ppl when they know what u have coming. Not like they can switch around the lineup, production schedules and all

Industry types reading this thread observing our reactions should know that many of us reacting to this news are not reacting out of any supposed fanboyism. It is more akin to the desire to be an armchair quarterback or CEO in this case. Everyone has done this in their life - even you.

Titanfall won't do jack. We'll be on MS life-support by March. Pachter needs to recalculate his entire 90 page report.

I feel the same way about infamous. I dunno. I feel like there is no big maknstream game this year. Hope destiny can be it though. Seems really interesting.

I'm holding out for a £250 one in early march. I know it's possible.

....wasn't expecting the gap to be that big in the US. Not to mention supply contraints. Damn.

March will be interesting. MS is literally going to be riding on people seeing TitanFall. And then there's Second Son...

Microsoft holding out on us on those slain zombie numbers, that's worrying.

To be fair people are holding out for Titanfall if they've made it past the holidays without picking one up.
