is reporting on a leak like that breaking an embargo? genuine question
No idea, really. But they did publish a snippet of their interview of Ru Weerasuriya. And thanks for the reminder about video, i couldn't really see it. It is weird that Polygon is the only one who has covered it so far, at least i haven't seen other big name sites covering this leak.

Man, I thought this was going to be longer. Way too short and nothing really coherent happened. Skipped from scene to scene.

im confused by the video

the narrator (ugh that voice) was going on about how they tried to remain as rooted in realism as possible by making only weapons that featured technology available at the time, and something about airships even though they werent around they were technically feasible

but we are talking about a game where we will be fighting monsters right?

ITT ppl get blinded by good graphics and cinematic visuals.
gameplay-wise it looks like a generic 3rd person corridor shooter with QTEs.

Games looks great, but that combat seems a little strange looking to me. That QTE sequence where it was basically one button prompt seems a little annoying, and that shooting mechanics looked a little rough. I'm not bashing this game at all, it looks stunning, I just hope it's gameplay mechanics actually make it fun to play. For now I will remain hyped for this game until something definitive makes me think otherwise.

It is rooted in realism for the time period in which they set their fantasy story. So they won't have laser beams and fighter jets but maintaining a realistic level of technological advancement for the time period.

You can be rooted in reality and based in fantasy. It's about cohesion.

What I meant it looks great technically but artistically, it's looks blander than the first Gears of War.

Gears was the first of its kind, so therefore every subsequent game will look like a derivation of this...

To be honest I am not quite impressed, sure it has really nice tech powering the entire thing but the segments where the protagonist is shooting does not seem that much fun

It looks like most battles are really claustrophobic which I do not have an issue with, however the I really need to see more of the AI in action and how it works

Good looking games are fine but I am honestly more interested in how they use this technology to create a much more immersive gameplay experience...

i understand, i was just asking

with the guy rambling on about the realism and only seeing human enemies in the leak... for a second i was getting worried that maybe they had dropped the supernatural stuff

Don't shoot your load too early there, big man; they have to deliver, more than once, first.

I played 3 of their previous games and I love them all, Daxter is pure fun platformer, they made the awesome Zeus Gauntlet in Chain of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta is jaw dropping on psp.

my only concern from them is basically game length and replayability. both GoW games are noticeably shorter than console GoW I think, although maybe that's just the nature of working with smaller budget on psp.

That's why I said "could". Of course they will have to deliver more than once. For a small team that was developing portable games they certainly have a lot of potential

I like how it's expected that this game is somehow the second coming. It's a game. It's just one of the first PS4 exclusives with a lot of development money and talent behind it. I very much admire what they're doing stylistically and technically and it'll probably be jaw-dropping to see in person, but it's a 3rd-person action game. It wont solve all your problems or get you pregnant.

Looks incredible!

As for the generic comments, meh. I can enjoy all types of gameplay and genres, as long as well executed. FPS, TPS whatever... So I'm good :)

Hmm the video is low res, but even so the texturing doesn't seem all that great. It looks very grey and hard to read also.

and this is why i'm personally excited for this. honestly, who has really nailed the cinematic TPS? naughty dog...and? erm...that's it. they all fall flat in terms of characters, story, set peices. if this can match or exceed what ND have done for the genre. then god damn that's reason to be excited for this stunning looking game.

I'm amazed there are so many people healthy enough to post with all the sodium that's oozing through their blood right now.

I can season the shit out of some food with all this salt; I love it.

Looking forward to the official trailer with hopefully a decent voiceover to explain some more back story.

Visually and aesthetically, the game looks incredible.

But from what I have seen, gameplay just seems like a bland TPS.

I hope this game does have something thats sets itself apart from that distinction.

gameplay wise, wasn't TLoU a generic 3rd person survival horror game? Wasn't Bioshock Infinite a generic FPS? Wasn't Super Mario World 3D a generic platformer?

It is such a flippant dismissal based on seeing barely anything from which to make such a judgement.

Not going to comment on shooting as we need to see more videos, but the visuals are outstanding. I dont have a problem with QTE's if they push the cinematic feel. Ryse implementation was fantastic, QTE's were seamless - it never really broke the immersion, and the payoff was great, you felt like a badass.
