New Features

-New Cat Guard enemies throughout Story Mode.
-Steam Workshop integration for sharing user created levels.
-Steam Inventory integration for trading! This allows users to trade and sell weapons, prisoners, gems and yarn via Steam.

BattleBlock Theater Steam (version) is going to manifest moments in your mind you never thought would be possible. Don’t believe us? Try the game yourself before it even makes its official release on Steam.

From March 24, 2014 to March 31, 2014, we’ll be holding a Closed Beta for this upcoming PC edition of our game. A Closed Beta means you’ll need to register to get a beta key, but anyone 13-years-old and up are welcome to sign up!

The Beta start date is of course subject to change. We’re still updating and testing a bunch of items, and in the event something doesn’t feel right we might adjust the beta start. Regardless of this, we encourage you to register now.

2014-03-20 update:

Steam store page is now up.

Releasing May 5th. No price mentioned (yet). The XBLA release was $15, and Castle Crashers debuted for the same price on Steam, so that's what I'm expecting.

2014-03-20 update 2:

They've since changed the release date to "SOMETIME SOON".

2014-05-01 update:

Battleblock Theater confirmed for May 15th.

Was this game any good? Seemed decent when I saw it at TGS a few years back but wasn't sure what to make of it on launch. I'd probably be playing SP only so a bit worried about that.

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
Seemed like this game took forever to come out and when it did everybody forgott about it after a day or two. Barley heard anything about it.

This was sadly overlooked on the dying XBLA last year. Fantastic platformer and humour, and the user created levels are pretty interesting as well.

It seems like this game came when XBLA was really starting to matter less and Steam was becoming even more important for the smaller teams - I have no idea how well it did, but I sure didn't hear much about it. I'm glad it's coming to Steam, and I'm also glad to hear the game is fine in single player.

This game will get its own Spelunky like renaissance. It's perfect for streaming and has interesting community features and Behemoth is smart in using almost all of Steams API to make the game shine. I'm sure it'll be in many GOTY 2014 lists.

Sorta sad this didn't really get big on XBLA. It was sorta in a time where XBLA was dying and Steam holiday sales and Humble Bundles were becoming the place. Same thing happened to Skulls of the Shogun (and they both had development cycles that lasted much too long). Still, this game was very good and deserves some sales. Some of the cutscenes are hilarious.

I'll double dip on this, seriously great fun on single player and co-op/vs.

Let the quest for the special prisoners BEGIN (again)

If it's like the XBLA version, every week behemoth had a specific user created playlist, when completed it would award you a special prisoner head, 63 special prisoners to collect. Wonder if they will add more for the PC version?

Also that trailer is god like.
