The talking animals in Disney movies are usually cartoony in appearance. The Vita Pets dev went for a more realistic style, so the voices seem completely out of place.

Just downloaded the demo for PDf (EU here)...

My first rhythm game in ages and it really shows, haven't been able to get an excellent or higher on any normal song yet.

Even a Great ranking is hard atm but it really is kinda addicting to try and improve :)

I can't pass first song on easy :D

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
While I love Sony's embrace of indie games, they have done a terrible job of promoting them . So many times games just seem to get announced, then go silent for months only to get a press release the week or day before they come out.
Well, blame the indies. They have to operate on absurdly short hype cycles because they can't maintain it for that long. It plays hell with my budgeting but I understand... I think I disagree with the promoting thing though. Some of the indies are really on top of it like Road Not Taken devs with their dev blogs. Others go, "Here's our game" and then "Our game comes out today" and that's their 2 blog posts. I don't know how you get a blog post but theirs a disparity somewhere. Also, they regularly put indies in the PSN Store Spotlight, Awesomenauts is there now in fact. In games indies take up nearly as much space shelf wise as the AAA games do.
They post too much to actually have time to play Vita
Flandy doesn't get that excuse seeing how low he is on the list. I could catch up if I wanted too with constructive comments. But, I decided I'm actually going to play videogames this week instead. And do school work. The GAF talks more than plays games is actually true. Color me surprised..

But how can an indie hype the game. First of all, you have the low (or zero) marketing budget. Media coverage isn't as good since those games don't give clicks. Is better to make a shitty article about last Sony / Microsoft PR comment that can guarantee 3000 views. And there is that "2nd tier" feeling most gamers have about them.

Sony should put give those downloads cards for indies. Or some initiatives like that Journey/Flow/Flower Collection or the Indie MegaPack to bring them to retail. They could sign a deal with those indies for both. Sony does the distribution, gets a little piece of the cake, indies get shelf space. There is some people that does not like download only games.

Edit: Nevermind. I thought there was the PS3 version for 5 and the Vita for 40.

Nice! Now go for Perfect on Hard :3 I kid, I haven't even gotten that yet...

Let us know how the Slim is; I like my OG white Vita too much to trade it in. Plus dat OLED.

Will do. I have an OG white too. :)
The slim will be for digital games only. White for retail.

I finally got round to Platinuming Resistance Burning Skies today. Just needed one easy trophy that only took me about 20 minutes to get... I enjoyed replaying the first few missions more than I thought I would, the alien weapons are great fun to play around with. The Auger is still one of my favourite FPS weapons, being able to blast people's heads off through walls is strangely satisfying.

I also tried Smart As... as its now free via PS+. I like it, I'm not one for brain training games but this seems fun. I'll stick with the daily challenges and see if I improve any over time. Not a game I'd really buy but decent as a freebie.

PS4 wise I'm really digging Dead Nation at the moment. I never got the PS3 version so its all new for me and I'm really enjoying blasting away at the zombie hordes when they start ganging up on me.

Rayman is still keeping me really entertained as well via the challenge mode. Weirdly this was the game I was most excited to use the share button for so I could upload videos of decent challenge mode runs. Shameless plug!:

I can't believe there's Vita owners that haven't played Tearaway. It's fucking mind blowing.

Well, I loved the game but I can definitely understand why people would be hesitant to invest in it given its length and lack of replayability. The initial $30-$40 investment may be too costly for them, especially for people in Asia where game prices don't drop so drastically. But if it's on sale for half the price, you would have no reason to not buy it.

PSN has been pretty good, but last weekend there was an issue where you couldn't join parties and you couldn't send game or chat invites.

Also, I am never able to voice chat with one of my friends, says there's a possible NAT issue, but we're both open. Frustrating stuff.

Flandy has the game but hasn't finished it. Killatopak doesn't even have it (it's been on sales already)

Shameful. To think they are out top posters...

It was a tragic comedy that anyone had to convince anyone who actually owned a Vita that Tearaway was THE game to get, or even to just download the demo in some cases. Especially when it doubled down on sale price twice in that first month.

"we need real games, not this indie trash" etc - a tree fell in the woods and no one heard it, even though a few people were around.

No offense to anyone, just general Vita owner jadedness.

I have Vita games like Persona 4 Golden and Tearaway, but I haven't even gotten to them. Ever since I beat Gravity Rush, I've been playing Guacamelee nonstop, and I started Dragon's Crown. Such good games.

It's also that certain games may take priority over others. For me, I really wanted to buy Tearaway at launch, but there were other things that took priority (PS4, Ys and Sorcery Saga come to mind). Hell, I didn't even get Killzone: Mercenary until after Christmas, simply because there were other games that I wanted more.

I still haven't played Tearaway, but I'll grab it eventually. Has nothing to do with the price or the content, it's just about prioritizing what games I want the most.

Edit: For reference, Flandy and coolasj gave me shit
:p
for saying I'm not going to get Second Son at launch. It's not that I don't want Second Son, it's that The Witch & The Hundred Knight comes out in the same time frame and I know it's going to be a lot harder to find a NISA game post-launch than it is Second Son.

So is the PS+ download for Smart As supposed to say Review Code? Just seems a little odd to call it that.

EDIT: whoops, meant Smart As.

I've been playing Awesomenauts on remote play a lot today. It seems to work really well. Now I can finally play a MOBA on the can!

Third time I've bought this game too. Love it. I need the DLC costumes to go live so I can give Ronimo even more of my money.

they should really just port the game to Vita already ><

In that scenario I'd rather buy Witch than Infamous myself, if given the option. That game's right up my alley, and I'm not the biggest Infamous fan... I'd really only be buying it to have something epic and shiny new to play on PS4 if I had one.

Maybe it just didn't click with him. It happens. *shrugs*

I dunno about Killa though. Maybe he has a good reason. :p

It's a perfectly valid reason as I do the same myself. The game might be on sale when I decide to buy it so it's a win-win situation.

For reference, I categorize games in terms of priority in 3 tiers:
(1) Games I want when it launches - I buy it whatever its price at launch. Mostly retail games if a retail version is available. If a LE is available, I might go for it.
Too bad LEs are not available here in Asia as I really wanted that Danganronpa LE.
(2) Games I'm planning to buy when it reaches a price point - Mostly applies to digital-only games as I don't usually buy digital-only games at full price. I also include games I'm on the fence in this list.
I'm still waiting for an Atelier Meruru sale. :(
(3) Games I don't plan to get - these games are on my ignore list. The only time I'll play them is if they are a PS+ "free" game or I somehow got hold of a copy.
