Good move especially as they can concentrate on their downloadable game, Hellraid (which I can't wait for), for this year to get a bit of income and give Dying Light some breathing space (and hopefully dropping the last gen consoles is true too)

- they want to scrap PS3/360 version
- he claims that it's delayed defo to 2015, it could be because of significant changes made to the game (felt too similar to Dead Island, franchise was sold to german Koch Media which could mean lawsuit from them, that's his thoughts though)
- Techland PR didn't confirm it, still stating 2014 as release window

not sure if that dude is reliable (not a big site), but another guy (Piotr Gnyp @tipheret) claims the same thing and he is reliable

They actually have a good chance of getting the last gen versions scrapped as well. Isn't it Warner Bros funding this ? With them also releasing a current gen only Batman this year then maybe they'll be willing enough to let them drop them.

Brutal man. As with the witcher 3, if it's best for the game, I'm happy. That said, two of the games I'm really looking forward to dropping out of 2014 within a week is harsh ha. I lvoed Dead Island, but obviously a lot of people didn't. Hopefully this gives them the polish time to push it to the next level.

I'm okay with this, it looked a bit too similar to Dead Island in terms of how the gameplay handled in the early demos.

As far as I can tell, sales for last gen games are falling significantly. It probably wouldn't be worth the effort or sacrifices that would need to be made to make it available for last gen.

I am glad that the nearly 10 Million combined sales of XB1 and PS4 is having a significant influence here

Time to make the transition cuz this Cross Gen mess is causing a lot of problems

Well with Far Cry 4 moving out of 2014 as well, I have to agree with you.

Now imagine if Destiny is delayed again and the Uncharted 4/Halo 5 rumors are true....

However if Destiny ships this year then Activision have a golden opportunity to estabilish it as the next-gen game to own on every platform just because everyone else delayed their games...

So... I just pre-ordered this. I watched the E3 trailer, which I liked. Then I watched a gameplay video... which I liked. Then I saw the price of €59.99 and I wasn't so sure. Then I saw one of my retailers had a discount: €37.40. Yup, that's a deal.

So this game better not be delayed into 2015. :p

Oh, and this game is getting way too little attention/ads. I saw the title "Dying Light" a few times before, hadn't seen any footage, and thought that it was an indie game.

Yeah, I agree that this game is getting too little attention. Also, I'm all for a delay, if it mean's it's not anywhere close to Dead Island.

And yes. Drop last gen consoles. This fad need to dry up fast.

why would konami do it anyways? fox engine was built with multi platform and multi generations in mind.

According to the Polish site hcgamer.pl, Dying Light from (Polish dev) Techland will now only release on PC, PS4 and XBO and has been pushed back from a release this year to 2015.

i thought this was known? i remember hearing this a while ago that Techland wanted to go strictly current gen after last gen builds had some difficulty with keeping parity.

If there's a delay because they felt things were too similar to Dead Island then I am 100% OK with that ... as much as I tried to get into that game I just couldn't.

Not sure if it actually means anything, but Best Buy just changed their release date for all versions of this game to 2/24/2015. It had previously been listed as 5/31/2015, which was obviously a placeholder date.

I only mention it because the new date seems non-placeholderish and oddly specific, falling in line with the Tuesday release standard.

Another delay is not unexpected, and dropping last gen is a good move, I reckon after 2014 Xmas aside sports games and COD everything else will be CGen and PC only..happy times and we can let the proper jump up hit us!

That's the thing about this game for me... it looks just like Dead Island. If they need time to change it so it won't be like Dead Island, I'm all for it.
