Video is spot on.
NBA2K is a great franchise, but a bit overrated. It's praised, because the alternative is Live.
I traded in the PS4 version, because the passing was godawful; something the video illustrates very well.
Ironically, the PC version is much more playable, even though it shares many of the same flaws.

This is actually one of the reason i don't pay attention to videogame reviews anymore. It's like these guy never played or even watched a basketball game before.

Intentional foul after a few attempts at a steal is pretty much game breaking imo.
2k14 gets way to much flak on GAF, I have seen most of the glitches in this video in game, but none are game breaking and the number of times I have seen them is quite few. The MyCareer mode is totally fine, especially if you use the mynba2k app to get vc, its about 1000-1500 vc bonus everyday, just for clicking on an envelop. In fact I would say it's almost game breaking, since I am now the 5th best player in the NBA, and my career is only 53 games old. Intentional fouling is by design, don't hold turbo while you hit steal people. The passing is not broken, you need to see where the icon is when you pass, and if its hard to thread the needle like that then turn on the icon passing. I also think many people never took the time to learn how to use the shot stick correctly, because the shot stick opens the offensive part of the game way up. I agree that its stupid it's always online, the servers are terrible, and are inexcusable, but the on the court game is pretty fucking good.

Much much much worse than the goofy gameplay hiccups is the F2P business model in a game I payed $67 for at launch.
2K can go fuck themselves, I will not buy next year's 2K NBA game unless this nonsense is removed, and I may be too bitter to do it then anyway.
I've bought each of their basketball games day one since 2k10 (double dipping on 2k12 and 2k14) and they've absolutely lost me as a customer until this gets fixed.
The worst part is even if I was willing to pony up $40 or whatever to get me some coins, the career mode would then be boringly easy. They literally broke the game. Fuck them.

Shout out to the travesty that is MyTeam, where you are absolutely not allowed to make a new team and must play long games with a non-adjustable difficulty level so they can minimize VC inflow and maximize micro-transactions.

Welp.........I'm done I was progressing through to finally get a good contract and now that I know its permanent........I'm done.

People always complain about the amount of VC you get from the game. I think it is fine amount, granted I only spend the VC on MyPlayer, not the other modes, but the 400-700 I get per game is quite reasonable. With the added 1000-1500 daily bonus from the mynba2k14 app though it seems too make the MyCareer almost to easy. That was the point I was trying to make. I am already the 5th best player in the NBA with a 92 rating, and I have only played 53 career games. The mode is supposed to be played out over years and years, so the "leveling up curve" seems to be a little out of whack. I would expect to be around this good after maybe the end of year 2 or so, not barely halfway through my first year.
Yea the game has problems, but it also doesn't help that a lot of the people that play the game don't know how to play so they blame the game. This video showed none of the games problems but just highlighted how idiots play online, mashing square every time to steal the ball so they either intent foul or throw a full court shot and mashing triangle when ever ball handler is in the post, or using the analog shooting wrong which makes your player take retarded shots. This video has to be a joke making fun of how dumb people play, not to highlight the games problems.
Traded in my 2K14 PS4 copy for DK:TF a couple months ago.
The game had massive problems, the worst of which being the f2p bs. I'm still trying to figure out how the game got such high reviews. It looks amazing but that's about the only thing it does right.

The point I was trying to make was that this completely ruins the game. You can either progress way too slowly or way too quickly (no extra VC vs. extra VC from app or purchases). There's no way to play My Career that makes much sense. If you're the fifth best player in the NBA halfway through your rookie season, the game becomes boring very quickly.
never happened to me, and I have been playing since 2K6. How many steals from dribble you see in an NBA game? Your fault if you try so much to do it.

So funny. But honestly some/MOST of those are user errors. I actually love the intentional foul when somebody is mashing the steal button. Also if you want to spin move down the court like an idiot you SHOULD lose the ball. I do agree that open court charges and outlet passes are complete BS.

One of these videos for Fifa would be even worse I think. It's so far away from what real football looks like.
So I am trying to log in to the My2K app to get some of that free VC. When trying to reset my password, the link the send you in the email to reset it just leads you to a page to log in.. which requires a password and prompts you to get another email to recover your password.

Game is nice imo but gets hate from scrubs that lose. So many people crying laughing at video.....right. Nothing is perfect and 2k is a stat based game. You can tell who really watches NBA and who just watches highlights and says it should be like that all the time.
Compared to Madden its not even the same galaxy. 2k5 Nfl still is a better sim. People wanting Nba streets is not surprising here honestly. Non sports game guys need something arcade like to play.

And 2K14 was terrible. I traded it in right away when I wasn't allowed to change my lineup in career mode without VC. What a joke.
The more sim 2ksports goes more people that don't really know basketball will get left behind. This seems like a spite video from someone who does not get bball concepts. Thread makes It easy to spot people that don't watch NBA.

I've been saying this since the week it was released on the PS4 and people didn't believe me. I was hyped for this game, because of it's beautiful graphics but it sucks.
Out of the sports titles released on Next Gen I have
MLB 14 The Show ahead of Madden which was a solid football game. I don't play fifa so I can't speak on it, and no I'm not an online player because online sucks in all sports games.

Going for a steal is not an intentional foul though. Let alone standing away 13 feet from someone pressing X trying to pick off a pass yet you go intentional foul WAT. You know what going for too many steals punishment was before? Reach in fouls, these are freaking intentional fouls.. not even standing to close to the player to get a reach in but for some reason= intentional.... Never happen to you and youve been playing since 2K6? Good for you ive been playing since 2K on the Dreamcast.

You can literally steal attempt 3x without getting a foul (maybe a reach in depending on your positioning) but the 4th one will 99% of the time be an intentional wrap up even if your like a foot off the dude.
I've also learned the hard way that this is based on possession as oppose to the opponent your guarding. So if your playing D on a guy and try 3 steal attempts and then he passes to someone else and go and try to steal attempt, it's very likely that will result in an intentional foul.
Also if you try to steal too quickly (like double tapping for example) it's likely to end up as an intentional foul

You wanna play like a kid? Go ahead, ruin the game and the online experience for others mashing the square/x button to get the steal. That's idiotic IMO. That's not how it's supposed to be in a Basketball Simulator.
It's a desperate measure to prevent people from exploiting the game I guess.
I'ts all in the gameplay style you take. Most people mash the steal button, abuse the offensive charge button, continuously pressing full court, and don't play on-ball defense whatsoever.
That's not how you play basketball, and that's not how you are supposed to play this game (which is the best representation of the sport we have nowadays).
The game has its issues, but they are accentuated even more when you play it like a retard exploiting the fails o fit.
I'm mostly referring to exploits like taking the charge and the intentional foul thing. Passes and animations that are practically scripted... they are as bad as they get, I concur on that.
