Angry Joe just posted his interview with Cameron Lee Producer of DAI.

Here.

Some good information. Joe talks about the tactical combat and a scenario they showed with a choke point where they place a warrior in a narrow opening to blow enemies from entering and then using mages/archers to pick them off. Cameron mentioned that there are some 20 dragons in the game. Overall a decent little interview.

They need to release the full 40 minute demo already. Been a week since E3, plus we haven't even gotten any new follower info or anything.

Also the devs said they have no plans for a demo of any kind at the moment, which is some bullshit. Yeah I don't think anyone expect an actual playable demo, but they at least could put out a Character Creator like they did in DAO. CCs are great for building hype like Saints Row did with both SR3 and 4 before their launches. Who wouldn't want to create their Inquisitor and put them in a few settings with poses or some goofy shit.

Nice interview. The thing that caught my attention in it was the overall 40-50 hours for the main quest and 100 hours if played to completion. The game would be as big as Dragon Age:Origins + Awakening combined and approximately 40% longer than DA2.

Still no word on whether importing is a go or not. Holding off on replaying both games until there is a confirmation.

Also, if this turns out to be Anders then I'm going to spank someone. Dude needs to remain dead! But given how the dagger is identical to the one Hawke stabbed him with..... hmmm. Could be Hawke too or might even be Bioware being lazy huhuhuhu :->

Considering the game is going to ship with a program that allows you to create a prior save file where you make up to 300 or so decisions from DA1+DLC and DA2 and import that into DA3 I'd say there will be save file importing. I guess it'll be like the Mass Effect motion comic.

You will be able to make your own custom save import for DAI with the online "Dragon Age Keep." Its a good way to handle things especially for those, such as myself, will be playing DAI on one of the new consoles.

blog.bioware.com/2013/08/28/the-dragon-age-keep/
I’m excited to announce the Dragon Age Keep. Within the Keep, you’ll be able to customize a Dragon Age historical world state to your exact specifications. How did you modify your Warden and Hawke? Who were your companions? Who did you choose to romance? Who rose to power, and who fell in defeat? What legacy did you leave?

Within the Keep, you’ll be able to customize as much or as little about the world of Thedas as you wish. Then you’ll be able to import your saved world state into DAI at the start of a new game. Have you lost or corrupted your save files? No problem — remake your world state on the Keep, and preserve it for the future. For those folks new to the Dragon Age franchise, the Keep will serve as a great way to understand the people, places, and events that shaped the world leading up to DAI.

In regards to Anders, I'm going to spare him just for the possibility of fucking his shit up in DAI. Same goes for most of DA2's companions. If Isabella or Merrill dare to show their faces...

Another E3 interview just popped up, this time from Playstation Access

Not much in the way of really new info but some further explanation of how stuff like crafting and the World Master System works.

  • Sera is really sassy.
  • Vivienne’s personality might clash with Morrigan’s, she's a real ice queen.
  • The world master system not only influences wildlife populations and resources, but also bandits and factions’s presence in a region. Kill one faction or group and another might come in and replace them.
  • Crafting mechanics functions through a template. Use nug leather and your hilt will look different than if you use dragon scales. Deepest crafting system BioWare has ever done.
  • The more you fight a specific enemy, the more information you’ll get about them through the tactical camera.
  • The beginning of the game is paced in a way for newcomers to learn more about the world.

So I can import my choices into this game without playing shit mountain... yeah! Was going to find close enough save game if they didn't do this anyway.

Welcome back Freddie Prinze Jr to voice Iron Bull. Interview below.

Under the Horns

Wut. I actually thought Freddie did a good job as Vega, even if the character itself wasn't the greatest, though he wasn't that bad either. His voice work for The Iron Bull is pretty good too as far as we've heard. Whether it's consistent though remains to be seen.

I know I didn't recognise him.

This is fantastic. Look at that raw passion on display. He's so excited. I am, too. Can't wait to see videos for the rest of the cast.

Thanks for the info guys and lol @ BouncyFrag's outburst.

Anyway, has anyone asked Jo Wyatt / Nicholas Boulton / Adam Howden on twitter about whether they have completed their voice acting in DA:I?
Sneaky and roundabout way pls.

Yeah you can't knock him for enthusiasm. The British female Inquisitor, Alix Wilton Regan, also seems to be really sweat and hyped for her role, and she was quite good as Ser Cauthrien in DAO and Samantha Traynor in ME3. Wonder who the others will be.

You may well know this already, but there are already some other videos of cast members - Claudia Black (Morrigan), Brian Bloom (Varric) and Steve Valentine (Alistair). They're all there on the Bioware blog somewhere and all the actors seem really good and very enthusiastic :)

Morrigan for secret playable?

Well a couple scenes in the E3 trailers clearly shows both Morrigan and Cullen in the field. Cullen has his normal garb on but has a sword drawn and a badass lion helmet on cheering on troops, beside him is the Inquisitor to the right and to the left is clearly Morrigan in her DAO attire and not the ballgown we've seen her in. Whether her, or any of the other advisers, will be companions remains to be seen. If they are it will likely only be temporarily and under specific circumstances. That all said she will definitely be involved in our Inquisition, BioWare has made that clear, so there should a number of instances where Vivienne can interact with Morrigan.

Oh wow, she's in there, huh? Fantastic news. Loved Traynor in ME3.

Oh yeah, I saw those! Fantastic, they were. I'm glad they seem to be doing the other companions now (since Varric's been covered.)

I remember the days when the handful in BGII seemed like an enormity. That first spotting of the Shadow Dragon...

Yeah, my big hope is that they have some good diversity between them. They've said that you'll see fire and ice and what not, but I hope there's more to it, like possibly hunting them down. Having some 20 or so really hard fights that are mostly the same will get kind of tiring. So it would be great if there were lots of environmental things we can incorporate into the fights, along with varying attack styles and appearances to the dragons.

This game looks pretty beautiful. But something has been taking me out when watching the trailers.

The eyes, they dont move...

Vivian, in the trailer her eyes are locked straight ahead, not moving at all.

Is this an alpha/beta thing? I refuse to believe the eyes won't move in the final game, considering they do in all of biowares games, and to great effect.

Yeah I hope the whole eye thing is just awaiting a final pass through because a number of scenes were just dead eye blank stares off into space and it was awkward as shit, while other stuff was properly animated.

You'd think it wouldn't be too hard to create a script or something to have the eyes move a little or to have characters focus on an enemy they are attacking or is attacking them, but so many games, I noticed this in a number of the Witcher 3 screens as well, they just stare off into space like nothing is going on. Is it really so hard to get eyes to move just a little, that would be better than nothing.

Huh there are plenty of robot stares in Mass Effect, or most other games even LA Noire.

New Character Profile w/ writer interview, this time Varric:

varric-news-header.jpg

[DRAGON AGE]: Varric is back! That's the good news, but what kind of trouble has he gotten himself into this time?

[MARY KIRBY]: Remember in Dragon Age II how Varric was being interrogated by Cassandra, who was working with Leliana and a large number of folks wearing eyeball symbols?

[DA]: Of course.

[MK]: That was the fledgling Inquisition. Divine Justinia V had questions, and Varric was the guy with all the answers.

[DA]: Ah, so his reputation preceded him. Do you think he's starting to regret that?

[MK]: Well, in Inquisition, he's still answering a lot of pointed questions. If he hadn't already figured this out at the start of his meeting with Cassandra, he's definitely finding out now that sometimes it's not so good to be the guy connected to every part of the story.

[DA]: After all that Varric has endured—being betrayed by his brother and interrogated by Cassandra spring to mind—are things finally starting to look up for the poor guy?

[MK]: In Inquisition, things are definitely worse for Varric in just about every possible way. He's hundreds of miles from home. Not a friend in sight. And the things that are happening around him are apocalyptic.

[DA]: Varric just can't seem to catch a break.

[MK]: Remember, this was the guy who found the Wounded Coast too far out of his comfort zone. Snark and wild stories are all that's going to get him through this ordeal.

varric-en.jpg

[DA]: Varric's trademark charm is probably his most visible quality, but what would we see if we dug a little deeper?

[MK]: Thedas knows him primarily as a storyteller, but Varric is first and foremost extremely loyal. He tells stories to rewrite events he's lived through and make them less senseless, the people in them more inspirational, and to drag some meaning out of the mess that surrounds people he cares about. It doesn't always work. But at least he's turned Cassandra into a Hawke fan. That's something.

[DA]: He seems to have a way with words that keeps him out of unnecessary altercations.

[MK]: Varric would always prefer to talk his way out of trouble. He isn't as enthusiastic about leaping into battle as Cassandra or the Iron Bull. But he's completely confident in Bianca and her ability to get him out of any fight in one piece, and he's always willing to show off. He loves an audience, and he especially loves making everyone around him envious of Bianca.

[DA]: Since this is your second go-around as Varric's writer, is there anything that you're particularly pleased to have written for him?

[MK]: I got to write my favorite scene of the entire Dragon Age series this time. It may involve a game of Wicked Grace. I won't spoil it.

[DA]: Varric is one of the more popular characters among the Dragon Age community. He's a pretty easy guy to get along with, but how does he fare with his new travel companions in Inquisition?

[MK]: Varric will at least try to get along with most people in the Inquisition. People who are not Cassandra, anyway.

[DA]: Oh?

[MK]: He's still kind of bitter about that whole "book-stabbing interrogation" incident.

So Morrigan will be in the party at least once then, judging by that trailer (1:06)? Who's the bloke in the middle with the covered face helmet? The Champion?

Cullen, it's possible they'll be temporary companions at one time or another, but it's not for certain. That could just be a cutscene of some kind.

When asked to compare Vivienne to food, Mary Kirby described her as "Ortolan Bunting," a notorious French dish. This kind of bird dish is a delicacy in France.

The bird is caught alive and then blinded or put in a darkened cage. In the cage, the birds are force-fed until they get very fat and then drowned in a snifter of Armagnac. After which they are roasted for eight minutes.

I am super pumped to see this game at E3 and it looks like it is coming along nicely. Probably my most anticipated game coming out this fall honestly (besides Destiny). I've been wanting a real solid traditional RPG, I'm just hoping Bioware is going back to their roots in this one.

Strange that this is out pretty soon and there was no hands on at E3 nor console footage.

The media is under embargo, too. I imagine they can talk about what they saw around or shortly before GamesCom. Fans will get to play the game at GC and PAX, probably.
