Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

Mercedes Sauber and 2 Jaguars I think, a Le Mans and a road car.

The only one I can think of is the XJR9. Started off as a standard, became premium through GT5 DLC, then the standard was removed and replaced with the premium in GT6. The XJ220 is now a semi-premium but that's all AFAIK.

Awesome gifs, the lighting is much easier to appreciate in motion. Sunhi can you make one of Bathurst at around 17:30 hours?

Wonder what PD is up to on the ps4 considering their lighting engine is capable of this. Surely a full on global illumination system.

I just want some confirmation Fanatec/Logitec will work on the PS4 (Fanatec emulates Logitec drivers)... I'll buy one tomorrow if I can get some confirmation...

I do know Logitec is working on two new wheels, one for PS3 and the other Xbone... I hear they will be "top of the line" wheels meant to remain current on the market for years to come just as the G25 and G27 has... I do hope this isn't a death nail to current wheels... And the end of a one wheel solution that works on all platforms...

Yeah, i'm curious about where he got that info. Logitech stated in their financial call last year that they were going to be getting out of the console peripheral market by the end of 2013.

So I'm just trying to catch up on the recent IAmA and Eurogamer interviews.

- GT6 sounds might improve.
- The course maker is a thing. Might even release it one day.
- Standard cars will return in GT7 on PS4
- Standard tracks won't be added in GT6 on PS3
- Kaz likes Formula 1
- GT7 photomode will be better than GT6 photomode
- Kaz likes Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies
- Kaz would like to include Porsche
- Question about PD relationship with car manufacturers - Kaz talks about nothing but Nissans
- Kaz likes to drive Nissan GTR GT3 (shocking)
- GT7 will feature some form of Morpheous VR stuff
- Would like to add cockpits to all Vision GT cars
- Goodwood FoS is fun
- New track every month? Nah we meant patch every month. Ish.

What did I miss?

-New sound engine will be in GT7
-Look forward for more fictionalized PD created tracks in GT7
-Kaz wants to make motorsport as popular as soccer and football through partnership with FIA
-Kaz wanted to be a movie director, got involved with game developing by accident

So after all that the only real new piece of info was standard models will be in GT7 and the internet subsequently lost its mind.

Fingers crossed for the track editor this month.
Right Amar?

Hm. I am not sure how to answer that without causing a cross-forum copy-pasting brainwashing, accusations forward at me for this and that and dragging my quote through usual hell just becuase some vocal haters can't stand the fact they are simply that, haters. So, I will just skip this one and let birds fly over the waters on this beautiful Mediterannean summer day.

Yeah, I was shocked too as I'm well aware of the Logitec Announcement last year. I learned of this behind closed doors at E3 but not from a developer or publisher of games. We should learn more closer to a major driving game release.

That would truly be amazing development in the sheer interest of the hundreds thousands of players around the globe.

Logitech didn't completely rule out a new wheel when asked about a potential G29 earlier this year:

We appreciate your proposed suggestion to manufacture a new successor for the G27 Racing Wheel. Unfortunately, we have not received any notifications yet whether there's a new product release for racing wheels.

it'shappening.gif

We're still not getting G legacy support though.

So why would they be making another PS3 wheel instead of a PS4 wheel? There aren't going to be any more major racers exclusive to the PS3. And people already have a DFGT/GT25/GT27 for that platform. It seems like a waste of their resources. The only way it'd make sense is if it's also compatible with the PS4.

Pro-tip: In the meantime, clear a ton of space on your HDD....

I was checking around and the patches + initial install seems to be ~7gb, which is approximately 5gb less than what GT5 was on my hard drive. Is it actually larger? Doesn't seem TOO bad to me...

It would be a PS4 wheel (and separate Xbone)... I use Fanatec so my interest in logitec is only that Fanatec mirror their drivers so Fanatec doesn't need custom coding for support in games.

I learned very little but as I'm also a driver in real life the party informing me had a point to make beyond games. The only other statement I heard was "They will be better than anything on the commercial market today, for consoles, and they will still be PC compatible." But who really knows until there is a proper announcement, add a grain of salt.

Is it only 7gb? Seemed much larger. lol. Rocking 12gb on mine. For those of us with space constrained PS3's it's a pain... :^

That's an interesting comment. I really don't expect them to be competing with Frex wheels since they're $2,000. But i'm guessing that they aren't going to be cheap if they're going to be competing with the T500RS. Unless they're just planning on losing money on each unit sold.

I'll be interested in seeing if they partner with Polyphony again for the GT7 wheel.

1. It's a great game.
2. Don't play in 720p, it looks garbage. If your display is 720p, play in 1080i. It looks a lot better.
3. Be prepared to hate Kaz with all your heart when you come across the fucking kart races on the neon ice rink.

This.

I'm stuck on karting championships. Please reassure me it's easier with a wheel? I just threw the game back in its case until I get a wheel later on.

Higher price is the only way they can continue their business.

Part of their decline was low price paired with massive worldwide presence in stores. It costed them a fortune - just to be available in all those countries straight from the shelf. And revenue per box simply couldn't stand the manufacturing price for volumes and shelf-space.

If true, it will be interesting, I agree. Having Logitech back in the game would be nothing short than glorious, even more if they would come back into the high-tier category.

I don't have a capture card :p

So glad the PS4 has a record function, no legacy wheel support would be such a shame though, my G25 still performs as well as it did 6 years ago, best gaming accessory I ever brought.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
Can anyone confirm if the Dual Shock 4 works with GT6 now using the new patched method?

2. Don't play in 720p, it looks garbage. If your display is 720p, play in 1080i. It looks a lot better.

My display is 720p and 1080i looks worse due to the interlacing. 1080i technically refreshes every other frame, so GT6's 60fps is effectively wasted in 1080i. Not to mention the framerates seem more stable in 720p.

I really can't wait to see what they can do with a higher budget. Even though the T500RS and Fanatec wheels are better than the 25/7, they're also more expensive. And I really don't think that you're missing out on too much if you stick with the Logitech wheels. They're just extremely high quality.

I wouldn't worry about compatibility if it's true that Logitech is coming back into the console market. They've always been very consumer friendly. So I can't imagine that they'd take a "Buy our new wheel because we aren't updating the drivers for legacy wheels" approach. They also apparently updated the DFGT box, which makes me think that they're going to be announcing PS4 compatibility soon

I was thinking about getting a wheel that would work with this and my PS4. If it worked with my PC too, that would be nice, but it's not 100% necessary. I want to get one with force feedback, but I don't want to break the bank.

I'm looking at the Driving Force GT right now. I'm ok with buying used, but what signs should I look for if I buy on eBay to make sure it's legit? Any other suggestions would be appreciated, as well. I think the most I'd be willing to spend would be $175.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see the post above mine. It looks like they're going to come out with a new one that will be compatible with the PS4? Or am I reading into it wrong?

Ah, YouTube vids. :p

Yeah, the ps4 share function is going to get a lot of use. :D

None of the Logitech products work for ps4 as of yet, and no clear sign they're going to update old products to work for the ps4. They said they were no longer going to support console peripherals, but the poster above mentioned that he heard talk at E3 about new Logitech wheels. It's just a rumor at this point though, Logitech hasn't said anything about it.

Everytime someone mentions the T500RS I have pangs of regret on not picking on up when it was discounted at $199. I was trying to be "responsible with money".

Probably spent just as much since then on other rubbish.

Don't feel bad. I jumped on the deal really quickly and still never got one. Some people were very lucky, but it even if you got your order in, there were lots of snags. Even with my G27, I was hoping to take advantage of the deal.

Trust me, it's much easier to ignore the dithering when you're getting 50-60fps as opposed to 30-40.

I trust myself, and I'm definitely getting mostly 60fps at 1080i.
I've tested this extensively and the dot-matrix dithering at 720p just wasn't worth any imperceptible frame rate improvement to me. 720p and 1080i seemed to update at very similar rates.

There's an image setting in the GT6 options menu. Set to sharpen. Seems to disable whatever awful AA method is being used. Better frame rate too.

Played about 2 hours this morning after the game finally finished patching and installing. I'm liking the new physics model, feels great. Finished up the beginner section of races and jumped in a few seasonals which were fun.

Currently rocking a slightly modified Renault Sport Clio which is surprisingly fun to drive. You can really throw it around turns.

Same here. This is really a major issue for me, I don't want buy another wheel.

Yeah, I'm with you. I've grown quite attached to my wheel... And really don't want to kick myself if I ended up with a lessor "new" one... I like knowing I have the option to go PC, not be forced to jump platforms.

So I just bought this game a couple days ago, love it so far, but is 5 AI drivers all you get in arcade mode? Kind of weird to have all those slots shown at the start but never fill them.

Not actually that important

Up to ten cars on Arcade mode, up to 16 on career mode.

Unfortunately Arcade mode in GT6 is SHIT compared to GT5 (no tire wear, no fuel consumption, mechanical damage, etc...).
