Got it during the summer steam sale and started playing it yesterday. The game is amazing. At chapter 7 and going to dive in for more tonight

And even though it wasn't ID who developed it it TOTALLY feels like a classic ID FPS. Great stuff.

Great thread for a great game. Echos a lot of how I feel about the title. Hell, I'd probably make the same thread if I had the patience to gather all those gifs. It deserves all of that and more. My GOTY so far, and although there are a few titles that have a shot at knocking it out of that spot (Bayonetta 2 being the strongest contender), there is no shooter that will come close. It's exactly what I wanted from MachineGames from the moment we learned they were developing it.

This game is awesome. I just got
to the moon
and am having a blast. Quite literally. The gunplay in this game is amazingly fun. Kind of wish it had multiplayer with the same level of ultra violence. It's just so addictive taking out a room full of dudes with double machine guns. Or using the cutter thing to vapourise people. Great game

I regret so much picking Watch Dogs over this game.I hate so much Watch Dogs,i can't even stand looking to that game,but i will buy this game this month.

Id Tech 5 gets so much shit, but it seems good for console gamers (I understand it doesn't optimize well for PC). I think it's worth losing a little graphical prowess for the solid 60fps gameplay.

I agree with the OP. Its really one of the best shooters released since Bioshock. The world building and attention to detail puts it in another league to the super generic modern military multiplayer borefests the genre has become. Its definitely my GOTY so far - that's saying a lot because Infamous Second Son is the best open world game in ages.

Bought this game on the last day of the Steam Sale on Amazon (thanks to lots of m&m money) and I must say, it's a great game. My only issue is my rig is pretty old so it stutters a good bit here and there. Not the fault of the game, just my pos computer.

Blown away by the graphics and the gameplay is very solid. Controls are tight and the combat is chaotic. Ammunition can be hard to come by at times but that probably due to me spraying my gun everywhere except directly at the enemy most of the time.

Took a chance when I bought it and don't regret it at all. I think it's a very overlooked game by many and deserves more praise than it's received.

Just wanted to chime in and say I just finished it today and it's definitely going on my GOTY list.

Great shooting mechanics, great atmosphere and great pacing.

Threads like this are always so so so bad for my wallet. I am going to have to wait for it to go down in price, but will definitely check it out when it hits that magic price point for me. Great OP.

Sounds like it's similar to how Metro:LL surprised me. I mean, I wasn't expecting a bad game, but more of a generic shooter. However, the end product was my favorite game of last year and I still think it'll hold up for a long time.

I should've picked up TNO during the Steam sale but I can wait for another one.

Comparing and contrasting this with Rise of the Triad (2013) makes me wish MachineGames would cut loose and make something even more oldschool and PC-oriented. Wolfenstein: Blood Dragon, maybe?

Its plays great on PS4. ID5 may be fundamentally broken when it comes to textures up close, but overall its a good looking game.

I just finished Watch Dogs and I'm thirsty to play something else. I'm about to bite the bullet and get this one right now on XB1.

The first chapter/prologue was woeful, but i'm glad i stuck with it. Not GOTY for me so far, but the highs of this game are awesome video game moments.

Seems like one of the better surprises this year for a lot of people. I picked up a copy the other day. I look forward to trying it out.

Great OP, I agree wholeheartedly too! I got my platinum for this a while back but now I have done WD I am feeling going back for 999 mode - especially after reading this thread :)
