Played the beta for the first time at a friend's house, I was dancing at the hub world in a group of 4 just standing, they all started dancing too for a while. My girlfriend wanted to leave so I jumped off the ledge and died. Then I respawned nearby, and went back to see if they reacted, they were all mourning my death by dancing at the ledge that I jumped off from.

I'm completely sold on the game now.

I don't know why we're playing the same stuff from the Alpha, I really hope there is a lot more environments, especially for a space travel game. So far it feels very small.
 
Pulse rifles seem like utter shit.. unless there's something I'm missing to them. I have an uncommon Pule Rifle i was just using in Iron Banner, it has pretty high text damage but my grey Scout Rifle functions the same way, only better. And Hand Cannon is also pretty similar to Scout Rifle, but also less good (much shorter clip, longer reload, less range) These guns need a bit better identities; better trade offs. Right now it just seems like you'd gravitate to whichever has the best all-around killing power, which is Scout Rifle. Since these guns all occupy the same standard firearm slot, they all need to have distinct identities and purposes, which I feel they don't have right now. The special weapons are a bit better in this regard.

You know I've bounced around from gun to gun and really haven't navigated toward a favorite. Auto Rifles and Scout are pretty similar to me scope wise and I rarely just lay on the trigger so the fire rate difference isn't too huge. Both have strong ability to headshot. Auto rifles can get recoil control too so even when you do have to hold the trigger you have a better chance to keep control.

I played with a Hand Cannon from lv. 3-8 and beyond with Hunter and still do. What is the main complaint about the Hand Cannon? The reload speed. Well my gun beats that by a special mod where if my last bullet kills something it auto-reloads. Bam, no more reload issue except for bosses but usually I am using my secondary weapon anyway or they are bullet sponges so the reload time isn't an issue anyway.

They all do feel unique though in their own way. Auto rifles have that " guns blazing " feel to then that can clear a room if you can control the recoil. Scout rifles feel like mid range sniper rifles with good sights. Pulse Rifles are the in between. Ok power, can clear a room pretty good with triple fire bursts and the recoil is much more relaxed. Reload speeds are also very fast. Hand Cannons have tons of power but are shorter range and reload slowly.

The one thing I see though is so many people going for pure power or defense. It amazes me how many I inspect in the Tower at lv. 8 with nothing but standard gear on. Yeh they have 158 defense but their character has no boost. For me, my armor and weps are about feeding my skills and abilities because those are what clear a room. Waiting, what is it 30 seconds for a grenade is crap. But get some gear where melee damage increases cooldown speed as well as kills with a weapon doing the same, and then add tons of discipline stat adds with your armor which naturally increase cooldown speed, well now you are firing off grenades every 8 seconds. And with the Titan grenade ability to daze enemies for a good clip, you get where I am going.

I have looked at the skill trees of the main class and the available subclass to your character and then looked at the available mods for later gear and holy shit things can get very complex and you will really be able to build a suit designed around a specific combat style idea

Btw in the tower there is a room with what looks like a gyroscope ( where the speaker is). Next to it there are hologram planets. There are 6 of them. I'm guessing six planets in the final game.

It doesn't remind me of Fallout at all. It's more like Dishonored in level design, same place but instanced in different versions of it. Borderlands for co-op/loot. Phantasy Star Online for lobby system.

Agreed. Every piece of my armor boosts handcannon (reload and max ammo) in some way except my helmet, which instead speeds up my grenade cooldown per use of melee. And my handcannon speeds up grenade cooldown per kill with the handcannon. And I have equal amounts Discipline and Strength putting me at about 65%-70% cooldown reduction on grenade and melee.

My different skills synergize so well with each other that I always have access to my grenade or melee whenever i feel the need to use it. It's been really surprising, honestly. And handcannon just feels good to me, especially with the reload speed boosts and agile sight.

Wanna throw my 2 cents into the PvP hate bag.

Really not enjoyable. Angering to play. I did great (1st place) one round, OK 2 rounds. One arm armor worse than what I already have (a white).

I wish there had been no PvP because I don't want to play this and it was a waste of resources. Hate hate hate.

(at least they could change the loot drops)
Thanks for the input low-G. Hopefully they remove PvP in a day one patch for the retail game. And I think they'll change the loot drops before the end of July so people can experience the meat and potatoes of the beta. That's the main reason this beta exists is to compare loot anyway.

Can you people please check to see that you have your fire teams open or be more persistent about inviting people when yours aren't full?

Sucks how many people are playing alone or in a closed fire team and often start following me around without inviting me.

The game was made for co-op above all.
 
If you guys are in need of glimmer, go and explore the area where the broken ships are. Explore those caves and the edges of cliffs on the edge of the map. I been finding SO many loot crates. And the creates, they respawn at random locations, so you could come back to an area and see another create in the same place.

Thanks to granding this place for a while, my pockets is sitting nice and fat.

when exploring this area, I went a bit too far deep into the place and ran into an area with nothing but level 20 enemies.

Check the level next to the enemy name, that killed me in the top right hand corner

Wow our team of 4 vs 5 managed to win a game. Gotta say I'm not feeling pvp. the lag and death seem random. I also really hate how they lock gear behind it and force you to play it. I don't why you can't choose your team/map too. Is this a bungie thing? never really played halo.

As for pve, well I really wish there was more to do. More rpg stuff at least. Borderlands has more depth/options at this point though obv still beta. The story missions are nice but short and the random missions are repetitive and give little faction exp. Character customization is weak etc. I know bungie comes from an fps background but I hope they add a lot depth/options/different mission types etc to the final game.

Still it's a decent game though after playing warframe a lot the controls feel really slow/floaty. I hate how slow you turn in this. Not much choice for rpgs though on ps4 and I do still enjoy the game so I guess I'll try another class or something now.
 
Arghhh, I overshot my time in Saladin's Playground, and by the time I got back, the door is closed. Noo, my Titan cloth.

It was ironic that my shitty Hunter PvP got carried by great teammates, allowing me to redeem the cloak in 3 matches, whereas my better played Titan lost 3...4? matches in a row before getting back the groove.

P.S. I had fun with all the gaffers I played with tonight and earlier today, not sure what everyone's names on here are. Both parties I played with everyone wrecked, I think there was only a couple losses out of the like 20 games I played.
 
I just bought a new sparrow and a new ship..... I feel really special now because I've literally seen no one with anything other than the defaults =D

I've tried this game again, but I have the same issues as the alpha. I feel like I'm the only one that finds this incredibly boring.

No loot, three enemies and bad menu navigation. It's actually a generic shooter but nobody seems to notice.

I did the opening mission and walked around the hub world. I died at the start of the next mission because the enemy was in the dark. I can't do this anymore.

Yes, you're literally the only sane one out of all the people enjoying it. I hope we all see the light soon.

Seem like Warlock become the least favorite class now. No one talk about how crap warlock's cosmetic is.

it's my favorite class cause i love how it controls but yeah we got screwed over with our cosmetic item, you just can't see it. Yes we get little holographic ones later but it's still not obvious at all.
