Nice thread btw.

Am I the only one that thinks Hitman Absolution is a bit of a disappointment? I like the game, but it's far worse and different than Blood Money.

The Dreamcast had some of the most original games. Hope this goes out to someone who likes genuine creativity and aesthetics with some arcade-like gameplay.

Sega, JSRF remaster now please!

Ah! That is a bummer :c
Best of luck on figuring out what to do!

It interferes with my planning too it seems.
WHY MUST THEY BE SO CREUL!
D;

I'll probably try to play as much Hatoful Boyfriend as I can on Thursday and then just intercalate between that and Danganronpa 2 depending if I'm on bed or at the PC, giving some priority to Danganronpa 2 since it was a gift.

Hope you figure it out as well!

I have just recently gotten into Magicka and it is a lot of fun. I'm really bad at memorizing my combos that I discover though.

I hear you. I was pretty good at it for a while but took a break from it and don't want to re learn the spells. I doubt Gauntlet will have any of that though.

I don't call it "asspollution" for nothing ;)
It's incredible how much they've gone backwards with it, and it's not like they didn't know any better.

Sounds like that will work! Oh man. What a cool gift :3
I hope so too. Thanks <3

I agree with this. As beautiful as Absolution was graphically, the gameplay left me wanting... the objectives were open-ended only in name. I felt like the actual number of solutions possible was more limited and--more importantly--a lot less creative than Blood Money.

It's really frustrating. The disguise system, while interesting in theory, really breaks the game. The missions where you get dumped into a fairly open area and told 'kill these people' are good fun, but you spend far too long in the game navigating along linear levels with some annoying stealth mechanics.

Reposting this since it was on the bottom a few pages back:

I'm having a weird issue with Steam games online. In CSGO, the server browser does not give me any servers, but I can go to my favorites tab and play just fine. Killing Floor does the exact same thing. Now, with Dark Souls 2,i can't play any CO op or get invaded.

Thing to note, about two weeks ago my HDD fried and I am running Steam on a fresh install of Windows. Any ideas of what could be causing this

Sounds like you've got firewall issues. Test with Windows Firewall disabled see if you have any better luck.

ooh i got that game on my vita when it was a free ps+ game. deleted it after like 10 minutes, had no idea what to do, it was boring :x hope the winner enjoys it more than I did. But I should give that game another shot though, i do got a 64 gb memory card for my vita now so I could definitely fit it in without issue

It has definitely aged a bit, whereas its sequel--Jet Set Radio Future--is much easier to pick up and play. But once you get the mechanics down in the first game, it becomes secondhand nature to pull of move chains and such.

I'm still waiting for the newest version of A-Train 9. :|

Degica currently publishes A-Train 9 on Steam as a digital download. Remember when A9 was greenlit? That Greenlight entry was submitted and updated by Cyberfront, who went out of business last year to much fanfare. Cyberfront sold A-Train 9 at retail in Japan, a task that's moved to some other distributor (or maybe Artdink themselves, I can't tell). They were trying to get into digital distribution! It took Degica some time to localize A-Train 8 and release it to virtually no fanfare just a bit after A9 was greenlit, and now both games are available.

Here's the thing: Degica has provided a decent tutorial and some good notes for first-time players, but they forgot to publish the game pre-patched. If you don't have the first patch for the original A-Train 9 installed, you'll face ludicrous taxes after a short window of time; I'm certain this was done to force a demo period on those who had pirated or were previewing the game before its 2009 release. And though there are ways to fix this, Degica's response to forum complaints hasn't been punctual. They confirmed that Version 3.0, which just came out this June with a motherlode of new features (it's A-Train 9.5 in a sense), will arrive in August...so much for that. I really appreciate what the company's doing to get Artdink games over here, but it's disappointing that they've skipped over basic things like patching and using the best version of the biggest A-Train for a first impression. At least they've gotten more personnel from the Steam forums to help out.

I gave up on Mega Man Battle Network 3 (GBA) because the dungeons were pissing me off way, way too much for me to keep on playing, even if I was 75% of the way through.

I think I'm gonna switch gears and play Divinity: Original Sin next. I won it from gaf, but didn't get into it at launch because the first dungeon was really dull, and Dota 2 sidetracked me. Hopefully it picks up shortly thereafter.

I somehow missed Hitman in general at any of their releases. Would Absolution be a good place to start, and then go back to one of the more acclaimed and hardcore but older and less modern-polished games?

Or should I start with one of those?

I'd say just ignore it all together and stick with contracts and blood money.
Well, blood money and then contracts, since the latter sort of takes place between missions of blood money.

Just play blood money and then decide if you thirst for more. Its the best, and the most polished. Absolution has better graphics but not that much so to make blood money look outdated. Especially since Blood money has much bigger areas.

I thought about asking the same thing recently, since I have Absolution and Blood Money on Steam.

Blood Money it is! I played the first mission when I rented it from a Blockbuster on 360 back in the day, but the disc was messed up and I couldn't get the second level onward to load in. And so I never got to play the bulk of the game. I remember being disappointed by it (the disc not working) and then just playing Prey a lot.

Woah, awesome! Any Steamgaffers in the beta should report their first impressions ASAP!

I happen to be one of those ;) I might even stream it ... if anyone would be interested :p (just FYI - I haven't gotten my key yet)

Can't wait for Dead Rising to finally release. Hopefully they let us preload and everything so I can play on time. Plus Gauntlet is coming this month, and I'm also gonna be busy playing Danganronpa 2 on my Vita come Tuesday. Sound like this is gonna be a great month of gaming for me :D

Thanks for the replies re: Hitman.

Blood Money moved up to next on my backlog. I'm determined right now not to get sidetracked from the Witcher 2 like I've done in the past.
