I know it was already posted in the other thread, but I think this needs maximum visibility:

SMTIV EU - An Update

After some unscheduled changes to the SMTIV mobile website raised some eyebrows, a lot of you asked for more details, so I’ll be upfront. We encountered a few last-minute issues specific to the EU version, and we have to fix them. Given the current timelines for production, it looks like SMTIV won’t be out in EU until late October.

No one likes delays. Our fans in Europe have been waiting for SMTIV for a *very* long time, and it pains us to have to move the release date back even further. I have talked to a few of you on Twitter, I’ve seen the angry posts on Reddit, NeoGAF, Facebook, etc., and wanted to be as direct as I could. We truly feel awful having to say “wait a little longer” for a game you've been so zealously patient for, but there is no other recourse. We’re doing everything we can to get the game out in Europe as fast as we can, so please bear with us.

Back to the waiting room, I guess.

I wouldn't say late October is less packed than September... Quite the opposite. Oh well...

Well, shit. Considering all the other stuff in October, I might have to delay grabbing this until November instead.

They must know they're just throwing sales away treating people like this right? It's crazy that they keep throwing away the full value of their games by not releasing at the same time worldwide (or at least EU + NA once translated). Not sure when I'll pick it up now. I guess we'll see.

Wow, I almost got beaten to death by GAF.
I was about to post: Don't all European users have a US account anyway? Why bother releasing it in Europe after all these years?

My mind was still on the PS+ thread, and forgot about region locked =/.

Well, another few months won't kill you guys anyway.
But man, I feel bad for the UK people though.
Translating English back to English must be hard...then again, English is the 2nd language for most if not all of EU.

As i said in the other thread, at this point, considering the huge fuckup and the fact that the price is not that great, it's basically the price of the physical version in US if you care to look around a bit, i think they should add the DLC on that price.
And i personally am entertained by their excuse but i don't buy it. Not one bit.

Well...it'll give me more time to finish Nocturne/Lucifer's Call...would have been nice to have something to play on my 3DS though...

If it's actually just back into release limbo I'll have to pick my Atlus boycott back up and I'd rather not...the reasoning for the delay is a load of crap though, I don't see how they could encounter a new problem with a game that was done and translated over a year ago.

Is the DLC even any good? I heard a lot of it just makes the game easier.

So it's more than a year later after NA release date?

Hmmm, I wish that there's no region lock on 3DS...

Even if that new 3DS wasn't region locked, I don't really want to run out and give Atlus money for being terrible at releasing their game.

Seriously, why is this so hard for them? I don't understand. There's still no hard date. October's only a month away guys, you should probably have this figured out by now!

Edit: I really want to read a post mortem of everything that went wrong.

Still digital only though right? I've waited so long that I think I'm just going to wait a little longer to see if that "New 3DS is region free" rumour is true. Unlikely, but oh well. I'm not getting invested in a digital only release. I realise that's screwing the people at Atlus who've worked hard to get this over, and making it harder for companies to justify EU releases in the future. But there's a limit to how long you can make fans wait before they can be reasonably expected to either stop caring about the product, or consider importing.

This is especially true considering SMT IV was announced on an EU Nintendo Direct. It was never uncertain if the game was coming over, which made waiting a lot worse.

"There. It took us over a year, but we finally dumped the American ROM on the European eShop. Wait, shit, there's a huge error here! Delay it further!"

The NA turnaround was something relatively unseen as far as localization times go (especially from ATLUS). Less than 2 months from the JP release.

This is the most unprofessional shit I've witnessed in a long time. I was going to buy this day one at full price but in "late October" I'll be playing the shit out of Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2 and The Evil Within.

I can't believe this company.

I'm sorry for those who are still waiting for the game. I passed on it as soon as they announced a digital release only.

That shouldn't really matter though, unless Atlus had to make a pact with the devil to get it out so fast and one of the conditions was to fuck over Europe. No game should take over a year to release in Europe after the US, especially if they're not gonna bother translating it to any other language.

They can't. It's digital only. XD

They'll have to install it on an XL and prepare themselves.

That's hilarious.

Though I do feel sorry for everyone who was keen. Mine is still wrapped sitting next to my imported NTSC 2DS and RF4. That backlog.

Fuck off Atlus.

They wouldn't be doing this shit on the other systems. They know they can get away with it because the blams will be deflected onto the region lock.

That's totally inaccurate. Index Corporation no longer exists, and those copyrights are invalid. It should now read: ©ATLUS ©SEGA All rights reserved.

Time to delay it for another 6 months!

This is all so stupid that this actually sounds like it could be the reason for the delay.
