Favorite "Celebrities" that are Gamers

To name a famous few to get us started:

Even if they aren't hugely famous celebrities, its still fun finding out they get down too.

Rapper Danny Brown has not been shy about his love for P4G:

NBA Player Gordon Hayward is a huge Starcraft fan and actually plays professionally:

Post interviews, videos, or pics of some of your favorite famous/popular gamers

Aisha Tyler. Hell nah. She's annoying as hell.

She has aged incredibly well though. I saw her an a few episodes of Friends recently as she looks the same.

He said he can't play games too much otherwise he runs the risk of getting addicted.

I'm not say Craig's not a gamer, but when I hear friends say that, it's usually because they're not really gamers but don't want to look like a party pooper.

I know that here in the UK the actor Noel Clarke plays various games, as well as James Buckley (the inbetweeners) and Peter Serafinowicz too.

Dylan Sprouse, interested in Super Smash Bros commentary and game design? Cool dude hands down.
His brother on the right is pretty cool too

Vin Diesel's probably the most well-known. For Christ's sake, he convinced Judi Dench to play a game of D&D with him, and wrote the intro to one of the D&D anniversary books.

I'd also say Matthew Perry. He was apparently a big enough fan of the Fallout games that they cast him as Benny in New Vegas.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I love that Burial is a 'Souls nut, indicating he was going to put in dangerous hours into Dark Souls 2 on release. If just because my housemate, who is also an experimental audio/visual artist, is more or less exactly the same.

Japanese voice actors and actresses count as celebrities, right? :p

Kana Ueda (her more well-known roles include Rin from Fate/stay-night and Rachel from BlazBlue) is one of the few souls who bought a 360 in Japan, and is also a huge FPS fan, especially Halo.

Her co-star on BlazBlue, Tomokazu Sugita (who plays Ragna), is also known to play video games and be a general otaku over there.

I also met Dara O'Brien at my workplace once, really cool guy, but taller than I thought he'd be.

How did it take so long for Vin to get mentioned?

Dude owned or owns his own freaking studio.

Tigon is back together and working on an MMOesque Riddick game. Speaking of Vin, I'd hoped that Wheelman would eventually be re-released as part of the WB Vault initiative that WB announced earlier in the year, but I didn't realise until very recently that the game features two licensed GM cars and, sadly, I don't see WB going to the effort of renewing the licences (although that being said I doubt they'd be costly). The trademark will actually be abandoned next year if WB doesn't submit intention of use.

There are less than you would think. If we're talking "hardcore" gamers your average sports star is much more likely to be one then a famous actor/actress.

Off the top of my head Vin Diesel, Nathan Fillion, Zachary Levi are pretty legit. Then you have your second tier which is celebrities who will namedrop Halo or Call of Duty exclusively.

Conan O'Brien is not a gamer. Fallon is but he can't show it off anymore on the Tonight Show compared to his old slot. Wrong demographics.

every time some celebrity claims they play games, i just roll my eyes. the second they try to answer a question even remotely related to game its clear they have no idea what they are talking about

I once played with Megan Fox, during a 'Game With Fame' promotion for the second Transformers movie tie-in. She rejected my friend request, even though i literally saved her from Megatron.

I was initially a little disappointed, but it did help me to better relate with Sam in Dark of the Moon.

Dara O'Briain and Charlie Brooker are pretty legit, and have had some entertaining exchanges on Twitter.
