Forza Horizon 2 Demo |OT| "Where we're going, we don't need roads."

Man, going off road is insane. The jumps and landings and going high speed through fields with the brush flying everywhere. It feels, well... real. Some truly god-like physics and drool-worthy visuals.

What wheel are you using ?

And is this as playable with a wheel since it's not a sim ?

I suspect, like me, he's using the Thrustmaster TX wheel, which works really well, you can have the controller and wheel on together, so navigating the map can be on the controller, and you can then use the wheel when racing, and it's just like FM5 in terms of how it plays with the wheel..

The demo is amazing, and the graphics are actually way better than I expected.. sure the spot screen grabs could show it in a bad light if that is your agenda, but dayummmm, the level of detail for an open world (and i mean OPEN WORLD) is stellar.. loving it so far, trying to ace every race on the highest difficulty is really rewarding!

I may go for the Ultimate edition, but obviously being a car game nut, I will have DC as well (although I don't have a wheel solution yet, unless the Fanatec CSR works on the PS4 because I doubt the TX ever will!).

I'm sure the demo saves so I turned it off after I "completed" it, but can't wait to get back to it tonight. So fun.

Is this a time demo?

No, but it restarts all the way from the beginning after you quit.

So you have to watch the intros, do about 4 different races, go through tutorials, and adjust your settings all over again when you start up if you want to play online or free roam freely.

Major Nelson confirmed on Reddit that the game unlocks at midnight EST.

digital it is.

The intro was really intense... Makes me sad that the festival season is over in Germany. Everything else is just pure fun and perfection. I don't see any flaw yet. Congratulations to Playground Games. This will be my GOTY for sure.

This demo feels a bit more substantial than the demos I'm use to lol. Are those cars with names overhead other Xbox One gamers or something?

Started it with smartglass earlier today, get home off of work to try it. Hasn't started just sitting in my que.fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuu. Hopefully this doesn't take too long.

That could be it. I bought the F5 VIP separate and got the $10 discount on the FH2 VIP.

There's a thread on forzamotorsport.net. Apparently the LCE VIP and the paid DLC VIP are separate listings on the marketplace and the discount is only applied to the paid dlc.

It would suck if I missed out on the discount just because I bought the LCE on day one. Unfortunately I already pre-purchased the FH2 Ultimate Edition for 99.99 and I don't think MS would offer a refund.

That rain *drools* This game is pretty much close to perfect as far as driving games go.

Much as I love this demo there are a few spots with pop-in and where reflections in the wet roads has a much shorter visual distance then everything else, include car reflections in that too.

But otherwise I love what i'm seeing in the demo.

Loving the demo. My one complaint is the amount of unbreakable barriers around the world though. That kinda kills the open world feel of the game.

You mean around the map? Cause those barriers are there only for the demo I think, the map is much bigger.

I've got to agree I tend to always find one when I'm speeding through the trees. I was hoping that it was more like TDU in terms of open world.

Wow. The first ten minutes were like: goosebumps, smile, tears. When you get to drive the Huracan for the first time... Fucking amazing.

Still don't know which version to buy. D1 would be okay for me, but as I'm spending Gamestop cash on it, I don't really care how much it costs while I don't care for the DLC cars either.

Also, this happened, WTF?

I was hoping for manual headlights or horn to signal other players in Free Roam, D-Pad down seems unbound too. That would've been cool.

And unfortunately no Clutch for right bumper unless I shift with RS, which is slow as hell. :(

Judging by the level of positivity in this thread, next I'm expecting to hear that the demo:

1. Cured cancer
2. Fired Roger Goodell
3. Completed the development of Shenmue 3

I can't wait to try it later tonight.

They've done such a great job with the sky that it's a shame the clouds aren't volumetric as they stick out quite a bit during the sunny conditions.

Are you sure you're not confusing viewing angle and differences in water density/patches with what you think is pop-in?

I noticed someone else saying reflections were popping in in a video, but after watching it... it wasn't pop-in, it was the angle of the road and changes in the amount of water at different points across the asphalt in the distance.
