IIRC Canada Post is actually making money off their parcel business (and it's growing). My guess is that the lower volume of regular mail while the union protects their letter carriers is hurting them.

Didn't help them when they lost the Amazon account when the went on strikeQuestion was what's the worst thing a husband can critics about his wife last time.

Regarding Persona 4 Ultimax, I got a phone call from my local EB branch (where I preordered) and the girl over the phone told me that the games are delayed at the borders and they are looking for air-shipping for it to get here. I don't know if this is only EB or this is affecting multiple retailers.

Well, great. I seem to remember some Canada shipping issues with Persona 4 Arena and Catherine, so I guess I'm not too surprised.

EXPLAIN THIS MAGIC TO ME. I live in downtown Toronto and most of my shit comes late even with 2 days shipping SOMEHOW.

I posted about this in the community OT as well, and someone in Toronto managed to have his copy shipped. So I'm not sure the scale of this issue.

I really hope that this is an EB thing, since I would rather pick up the game somewhere else instead, and transfer my preorder to Freedom Wars or something.

If you are using free shipping, it WILL come a week late.
Open up a live chat and see if they can ship it for its release date.
The worst that can happen is they say no, but they will likely upgrade it to priority shipping for you.

Source: me receiving Destiny a week late.

Yeah, amazon definitely isn't affected, mine had shipped on friday. So they've had copies for at least like 4 days. Might be an EB problem. Some people said FS/BB hadn't shipped theirs, so maybe amazon got lucky

Yeah, FS hasn't shipped mine yet, though I don't know if that's because of some weirdness with forcing the order to ship to Quebec when it wasn't supposed to.

I'm fine with getting it whenever, but I need those pre-order bonuses.

FS/BB probably share their shipments with EB, or whoever handles the shipment handles all three of the stores. Amazon probably had another source.

Lame.

On a few of my E3 BB orders I put my credit card expiration date to 2016 to bypass some release dates, but it actually expires in 2014. There are games in those orders coming out soon so does anyone know if Best Buy will be able to charge me even with the wrong expiration date?

Really? I only moved here two months ago but every single one of my E3 preorders have gotten to my apartment on release day.

I do have Student Amzon Prime though. Maybe that's why?

Oh man, all this delayed shipping talk has reminded me of when Amazon shipped my Muramasa game 2 months late. Never again. I've taken my business to FS/BB/EB and I've been satisfied with their shipping.

Yeah I have Student Prime as well (at least since they've offered it) and I've had stuff show up a week and a half latest (Neptunia R) and even before Student Prime it just showed up whenever it wanted to on free shipping. Like I'd get some stuff release, and some super late.

Right now P4U and Smash 3DS have the free 2 day shipping from Student Prime (they let me apply the free 2 day shipping on older pre-orders) but I'm not too confident I'm getting either on release day. Probably get P4U by Friday, and Smash 3DS by next Tuesday.

I figured it might've been something like that. Catherine I think had a similar issue, but I got it on time because I ordered from Amazon.

It was the limited edition. But yeah, that was bad enough to turn me off from Amazon for the most part. When I first saw it, I thought it was the usual "estimate" and they'll send it out after a week. But no, it got pushed back even further.

I sure hope that I won't be disappointed walking into a BB tomorrow. I checked their website and they somehow showed that the store near me got the copy but I cannot reserve them yet.

Although the availability on the website trolled me hard for Drakengard 3, it showed me that it was available in the store in me but in reality is that the store had 0 copies.

Edit: What was the issue for P4A/Catherine back in the day (or how long were the delays?) I don't think I had an issue with P4A but I got my copy of Catherine when I walked into my local EB within the first week of it's release.

Mine says that too, for the record. So does Shadow of Mordor.

Typically, for me at least, that means I'm getting the game the next afternoon.

I don't remember the exact time-frame, but I think Atlus didn't print enough copies for the release date, Amazon in particular got very few copies, so it ended up taking about another week or so for them to ship out more copies. I ordered the Deluxe Edition in May, and when July 26th came around I didn't get my copy, it ended up shipping by August 3rd. So, about a week for me, but my friend wasn't nearly as lucky.

This is for Catherine, I don't remember P4A

Wait, I didn't notice but I actually have priority shipping. Danganronpa 2 hadn't shipped out almost a week late, I complained, and they upped it to priority. I didn't realize it upped everything else in the order to priority as well. Sorry guys.

Hey, are Wii (not U) shop cards discounted somewhere? I'd guess it would be possible to get them for cheaper now that the system is pretty much dead. I figure out it would probably be wise to get some of the good Wiiware games (Muscle March, Life as a King, etc.) before they disappear forever.

FWIW if you are willing to pick up Ultimax it has the entire first game's story mode as DLC for $10, and online won't be as active since a lot of the people would migrate to Ultimax once it launches.

My Tales of Xillia 2 came one week late from Amazon, and Hyrule Warriors is going to be at least 2 days late too. Not impressed with the free shipping option from Amazon so far.

Amazon took so long to ship my Fifa 15 Ultimate Edition I forgot I pre-ordered it and bought one from somewhere else. :/ At least it's supposed to arrive tomorrow along with P4AU and Natural DOCtRINE.

I ordered Ultimax from BB, and then again from EB games because I never got my Preorder bonus with my BB preorderr.
Was afraid I wouldn't get the preorder bonus for Ultimax also.

BB still says its on Preorder, but EB has already shipped it

Although it seems like BB has shipping issues with it as well for people according to this thread, so I won't be too down when it's affecting the physical stores as well.

This is lame, I planned out the day ahead tomorrow for Ultimax and this happens. :(

I am just looking at my order page, and every single preorder I have placed with them shows that my credit card has been charged the entire amount owing!!

I looked at my online Visa statement, but they haven't shown up as of yet because it usually takes 3 business days for any charges to show.

Sent them an email, and going to try to get in touch with Visa themselves and see if these charges are pending. Don't know what else to do!!

Best Buy is opening up reservation for Ultimax. Reserved at two places (one near home and another near my school) just to be safe.

Although the web is telling me that the online stock has 34 on back order. Don't know if this is a good sign.

I really hope the in stores version have the bonuses w/o preorder.

Looks like all my orders also say charged for everything. My guess is it's a website error.

Oh ok, I was wondering why it was saying it charged my CC and not gift card for Smash Bros

Even orders with games that shipped months ago and paid with GC are showing as fully charged to credit card

They really need a new website
