Shinji Mikami's THE EVIL WITHIN |OT| Where's everyone going? Tango?

Not sure about costumes, but Mikami confirmed in a previous interview the game has unlockables, and that he specifically mentioned 'bigger guns' after you've completed the game.

I hope there are extra modes or something interesting besides just playing through a 2nd time on harder difficulty (which I will do. I want to complete Akumu mode =D)

But the bigger guns sounds cool. Probably be like RE4 where you unlock stuff you shouldn't have had otherwise. lol

What has Bethesda done as far as 3rd party lately?

New Vegas
Wolfenstein
Prey 2 (attempted to force a buy out during development)
Dishonored (forced a buy out during development)
The Evil Within (bought out Tango early on)

Zenimax also bought out MachineGames. Founded in 2009, sold in late 2010. It's not as big of a deal to sell a new relatively new studio than a development house that's been around for 18 years like Human Head Studios. You can just take the money and leave (like Magnus Högdahl did - though he did return to MG for a while).

Edit: Off-topic.

I was reading about Starbreeze's original pitch for Syndicate. It was originally structured around a hub and had a Borderlands-like art-style. That only lasted for 8 months. It went through a total of 5 resets.

Syndicate was a very difficult project that I could probably talk about for hours... So I'll try to keep it short!

Over the years it went through a few major resets, both art and gameplay for various reasons, mostly because EA wanted the “Starbreeze DNA” in their shooter but didn't really know what that implied or what game they wanted exactly. The 1st version was handled by Jens Matthies (now creative director on Wolf) which was worked on for maybe 8 months but was unfortunately not in line with what EA expected. The story was highly dystopian, had a central hub and the artstyle was closer to Borderlands than to the Minority Report-ish style of the final version. I don't think anything was ever showed to the public. Here’s a WIP version of a vista I worked on very early on the project.

Chicago Typewriter.

I need this weapon in TEW.

Hey Slasher or anyone who have the game early I have a question.

How does the saving work ? Are there multiple save slots ? Chapter select ?

Let's say I want to replay chapter 8 can I do it ?

Multiple save spots and game has checkpoints. Game is broken into chapters.

But can you replay chapters at will ? Let's say I've completed the game and instead of going new game+ or new game on harder difficulty can I just choose chaper that I like and have fun ?

I recently played Tomb Raider Def. Ed. and I was negatively surprised that there's no chaper select just new game or fuck off :-/

Okay, Hunting Shotgun's exclusive to pre-orders. What about the bolts? Can they be found earlier in the game with The Fighting Chance Pack (I imagine Incendiary will be -very- useful)? Or are they exclusive too?

Nah those bolts aren't exclusive. Basically just giving you some extra ammo.

I'll have to double check unless someone else knows for sure.

I see. Thanks. Just earlier access to two bolt types and a shotgun plus consumables.

Speaking of the hunting shotgun, it better have a fantastic reload animation or it'll never get upgraded by me. Pump-action's hard to beat. lol

Friend of mine playing the Xbox One version is very pleased, performance wise at least. Says the framerate's stable with very few drops, even during "intense moments". Bodes well for PS4/Xbone players I think :)

Playing the bayonetta 2 demo for the third time in a row it suddenly struck me. In the next two weeks we get:

a) A survival horror title from the guru behind the whole genre and director of countless classics ... Mikami
b) high octane action from the director of DMC and protege of Mikami ... Kamiya
l

Kamiya would be super pissed if he read this post.

And there comes an answer, that I couldn't answer, but is said answer people were wondering, unsaid by me. :p Thanks Shinobi.

When aiming, does the camera zoom in closer now?

I've seen 1 clip and it looked like only the gun and hands were visible when aiming.

Yes, yes, I understand.

Now, if your friend had to rate it, oh I don't know, let's say out of 10, what would he give it? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Heh, I didn't dig too deep into it and he's asleep now but he just said he's really really enjoying it. I know that's not saying anything really but, that was the extent to what I asked lol.

Ugh, gotdammit EA. A Jens Matthies led Starbreeze style hub based Syndicate would've been incredible. The game had so much potential.

Yeah, that's really disappointing. But then if Matthies had stayed on with Syndicate, we may never have gotten The New Order.

So maybe everything worked out for the best. I do love me some fuckin Wolfenstein.

Anyone know if the manual for the PC version has been found anywhere online yet, like sometimes happens for Steam releases? If not, has anyone uploaded the options and controls menus?

Reason I ask is I use a non standard controller and would like to see the default keymaps so I can make my profile pre-release.

It's not quite first person, but it's not quite over the shoulder either. It's something you have to experience for yourself.

So the latest footage from the trailers is correct and there's no known way to change it?
That is, when you aim, it's just your hands and the guns in the bottom left (or right if they give you the option of switching the cam)?

That's really a shame... :(
It's like my hype train has hit a brick wall...
