Games that you're surprised are so cheap or so expensive

SolVanderlyn

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
With Mega Man in mind, I have two submissions:

Mega Man Zero Collection:

Extremely cheap, even brand new, on Amazon. One of the best values on the DS, with all four Zero games. Capcom must have printed a lot of copies, or it didn't sell very well (which I hope isn't true). Oh, and if you like Mega Man, and you don't have this...? Get it.

On the other hand...

Mega Man Legends: The Misadventures of Tron Bonne:

$90 used on Amazon, this game has become a collector's item. Legends is still a decent price, but Legends 2 is also expensive (although not nearly as astronomically so as this game) so anyone who missed out on this sub-series back in the day is going to find a giant cash wall blocking them from experiencing it now, because none of them are on PSN, either.

Plenty of Nintendo games.

Like, Metroid Other M is $80. Wtf?

You can also still find some DS games that are $40.

As far as I know, Other M is only expensive at Walmarts (and I have seen it for $80 at my local Walmarts in recent days, so I can confirm as much). It's cheap as heck everywhere else.

Speaking of "retail price" i'm stunned by Legend of Grimrock 2 price. 15 buck for such a gorgeous, deep and vast game is really a bargain

It's still $49.96? Or whatever Wii games generally costed new, here. But we also have Cory in the House for $39.96. (Serious. Thought it was a mistake but it's not lol) Walmart is weird on pricing these old games sometimes lol.

Can confirm. Also may only be true for some Wal-Marts. Wal-marts here have it at $30.

I used to trade in games. I quit doing that, but past sins cannot go unpunished. One of my favorite game series is the original .hack quartet. Here's the first one.

Incredibly expensive for some reason. Used to see them everywhere.

Mega Man X collection is also really cheap. I think I recently saw it on amazon brand new for around $13 or something like that.

Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I bought MP Trilogy for $30 the day after I bought my Wii. I HATED the motion controls. I just wanted at least the option to play the first two games with a Gamecube controller, but it didn't even offer that, so I took it back to EB Games and told them it "just doesn't work...every other games works in my Wii, but this doesn't". Total lie, but I got my money back, and they probably turned around and sold it for double that. I can't believe people enjoy those controls.

I've never played Xenoblade because I don't feel I can afford it.

I remember when the new worms game came out on PS4 back in June I was really excited for it until I went to download it and it was $30. I mean, really?

I'm surprised Mischief Makers goes for around only $10. I would have thought Treasure games would go for more than that.

If you're lucky, you can buy The World Ends With You for like $35 online. Square Enix must have printed like 10 copies of that game.

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
Bayonetta 2 Special Edition for the WiiU. Surprised to see it at $69aud locally (I got it for $65aud due to a pricing error) when new release games hover around $80aud for Alien Isolation, $85aud for Fifa 15 etc.

Damn, I really shouldn't have sold my copy of Valkyria Chronicles a few years ago. That thing is becoming a collector's item.

Agreed with CoD, that is way overpriced. And even when there's a Steam sale it's only like 25% off.

There was a small scandal with the Ni no Kuni Wizard Edition. I believe it was $150, but a ton of preorders got bought out by some Canadian game company on Amazon. They were scalping them for like $400.

Also the special edition of Bravely Default is ridiculous. At least $150 CIB on Amazon.

Never understood this, the thing still sells for less that $30aud brand new. You're talking about the PS3 version right? Is it a particular region or Special Edition that sells for so high?

My thoughts here. I don't care content, that's a $15-20 game for me.

GTA V 69,90 bucks. I'm not surprise but fuck you Rockstar.

Speak with your wallet - if they have no reason to change then why would they? They're in this for money not friends. Personally I paid for full and I'm ready to again, worth every cent.

I'm going to assume they meant Valkyrie Profile, haha.

Dragon Quest V DS is much more expensive than any of the other DQ games on the platform, at least in Europe. I regularly see it going for £40-55 used.

Infinite Space on the other hand is cheap over here. I picked mine up boxed for £14, so I was surprised to see it go for $50+ in the US.

Dragon Quest IV is the expensive one in the US, I believe. It's like $90 on Amazon.

Dear God, just looked up Infinite Space. $100. What the hell?

Wow I'm glad I checked this thread, when the heck did DQ4's price skyrocket? That thing was sub-$20 for years and years. I actually got it for $5 at a Sears clearance and my copy is still sealed!

I would sell it unless you're a collector. I'm probably going to try and buy the four DQ DS games soon. People are willing to pay that much, too.

Pretty cheap!

I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but in the US, Nintendo's first party games are notorious for having almost unwavering prices. Want that Nintendo game that came out five years ago? Unless it's a Nintendo Select or whatever, you're going to pay full retail price.
