I hope someone bugs them about pro controller, Wii remote and classic controller support. They're porting over some good games but there's no excuse for stuff like Lone Survivor to be playable only on the GamePad.

Here's an excuse: the more controllers you support, the longer it can take to get your games through lotcheck, especially during peak periods, so it can be more efficient to patch in support later rather than support everything at launch.

Yep, there are extra guidelines for each new controller you add to mix. Esp more complex ones like the Wii Remote that have multiple states (basically pointer enabled, gyro enabled or just buttons/etc). My game failed lotcheck once cause I left it in full mode (everything on) when it wasn't needed. (saves battery by turning it off)

Damn, even more busy than the EU eshop. I'll only be buying, Stealth Inc 2, this week since I've still got Bayonetta 1+2 to play through.

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
GQ II is 3DS only, right?
It'll also be hitting the Wii U VC on the same day. I'll probably grab it for 3DS though to go with the original GQ & the $5 I was planning on using for Hyrule Warriors probably would've sat there for a long time.

3 VC Wii-U games in 1 day is pretty darn cool! I can't complain about that.

Also, I have a couple questions. One, is Adventures of Lolo really that difficult? Will it make me rip my hair out and swear a lot or is it more about thinking, like Pushmo? Also, I was thinking of getting one of the old NES Megaman games and I'm not sure which one to get out of 4,5, and 6. I've played the shit out of the original three and just want something from the latter three. Anyone got suggestions out of those 3?

Lolo is tough puzzle fun, but it has infinite continues and you restart at the last level you beat. I use save states, but only to speed up restarting after dying.

I made Pixel Paint, which releases tomorrow. I'm excited. A bit less excited once I found out exactly how much is releasing on the same day =/ It was originally supposed to launch last spring but life got in the way. It's a pixel art drawing application - I wanted to make something that really put the Wii U's specifics to good use.

Anyways, I've got no money for marketing, but I did make this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynaEW2Y9xp0

The top Youtube comment called my fiancee mega cute, so at least I've got that going for me.

This game would make for a good contender as the new swapnote if it ever got a 3DS version.

Megaman 5 is my favorite out of those three. It's one of the best Megaman games and it's sadly overlooked, probably because people had already moved on to the SNES or were tired of the MM formula by the time it came out, I guess. It's a great game and if you liked the first three that much you'll definitely love this one.

two things bother me:

1) Rock Zombie is desperatly missing a 2 player coop mode. I hope an update will fix that.

2) I'm rather surprised that Rock Zombie is first released in the U.S. (being an european developed game).

anyhow: enjoy your Zombie dismembering for Halloween, you lucky USanians.

I want SNES Sim City AND Tetris Attack on Wii U VC. Those are the last licensed Nintendo games I'm really missing though, at least until Tetris DS becomes an option.
If Tetris Attack makes it to VC, that's all I'd be playing throughout the holidays!

wow. after tomorrow, the only games i want not released for wii or wii u vc are

NES:
Crystalis
Tetris

SNES:
Shadowrun
Battleclash 1& 2

Neo Geo:
Mark of the wolves

Arcade:
Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder
Ninja Baseball Batman

they delivered big time.

Sometimes not even Europeans release simultaneously in Europe. Isn't Ittle Dew Swedish and still missing in Europe? Puts the constant complaining about Shovel Knight, etc in perspective, doesn't it?

Well to your credit you are different and an app not a game. Hopefully it is a great feature rich app that allows easy export or posting a file server. I think it would be cool to use your app to make the pixel art for a future wii u eshop game.

Nightmare in Dream Land? Finally, Zero Mission is the last one I'm really itching for, still would love to see as much GBA as possible as I'd like to see more of Battle Network and anything else I may have missed.

3 VC games? Hopefully that happens more often

We used to have this every single week on Wii :(

Buy Costume Quest 2 now to support the game on Wii U (and not play it) or wait until Off-TV mode is patched in and buy then (and play it) to support their effort of patching in Off-TV play... Guess I'll be waiting (unless they snuck in Off-TV play while no one was looking). Will just have to carry the Halloween spirit until then! :)
DDP may force the purchase this year, anyways, but hopefully they can get the Off-TV play in this year, too...

I'm thinking of getting Demon's Crest as that was a great game, but how is Gargoyle's Quest II? I've never played it before. Is it pretty tough in terms of difficulty?

Just booted up the eShop and I'm surprised how big the banner is for stealth Inc 2. That's the only game you can see until you scroll down to Bayonetta and the other indie games.

Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX impressions would be welcome.

Also, at the risk of repeating myself - Tetrobot and Co. is a great puzzler! Do give it a look!

Why are you surprised? It's a new third party exclusive release. Why wouldn't it get the biggest banner.

That's the first indie game I have seen with that much eShop presence. Even Bayonetta 1&2 which recently released has been moved a slot below it.

The big indie games usually get promoted. Basically for NOA eShop, the more hype your game has, more it's like to show up.

Armillo, 1001 Spikes, Shovel Knight, Guacamelee, Steamworld Dig, etc. All been featured. They always feature the big guys.

They just suck at featuring us little guys in any way. It's one of the issues a lot of us devs have with NOA's marketing for the Wii U eShop, as they only market you if you have hype. So if your a new indie with new game noone heard of, good luck!

Perfect example of this I think might just be Gunman Clive for 3DS. Small $1.99 game that wasn't featured on 3DS (NOA eShop that is) at start. But it blew up big, with NOA caught with their pants down. With all the hype it had a day or 2 after it launched, NOA caught on and made it featured (as it should, since it's awesome).

don't get me wrong, I love the Wii U eShop for devs, perfect place for all of us. NOA just kinda sucks at featuring lesser indie devs. :p

Thanks!

Just to clear up the Off TV play question surrounding Costume Quest 2, a dev from Double Fine told me the patch has already been submitted to Nintendo. I take this to mean the chances are pretty good we'll actually see it come to be.

Oh, didn't know that about the NA eShop. I will have to keep that in mind with the marketing of my game, when I have finished development.

Going off Joe's post, it doesn't appear that NOA wanted to announce any "coming soon" games this time. I was looking forward to seeing what other Virtual Console games we would see in the near future. Not to downplay how nice it is that we're getting Demon's Crest, Gargoyle's Quest II, and Kirby all today, of course.

So Nintendo just send me another download code for a halloween theme. I downloaded it last week with the code they sent me but it seems they consider that an error occured, which wasn't the case but whatever.
EU fellows, PM if you are interested in a black cat theme.

I'm sure I've seen moderately large banners for other eShop games. I'm pretty sure Nano Assault and MSF HD had them at least. Betting Shantae gets one when it hits Wii U too.
