Splatoon singleplayer campaign announced

Looking awesome. I can't recall if this was stated but is the hand gonna have any offline multi-player?

Also, even though it's a totally different game, the vibe in it kinda reminds me of Jet Grind Radio.

Uh... did you watch the same trailer I did?

Yeah, sure?
It looks like the same level of impact as Pikmin in my eyes. Not only is there the multiplayer from E3, there is also a backstory and what looks like a challenging and unique singleplayer mode. Therefore I am pretty hyped.

I was really worried they were going in a 5 days at freddie's direction for a minute from that trailer.
But then it'd have all been a lie, switching out real-time graphics for CG! The horror!

I wonder if your paint can be induced to drip from one surface to another, high to low. Plenty of ideas to use with level design in this mode.

I always had a feeling there would be a single player mode, so it's good to see it in action.

The game looks incredibly intriguing.

Now all I need is different hair styles, so I can have things that look like squid dreads and we will be perfect

Glad there's a single player for this now. Probably would of past on it otherwise and now reckon I'll get unless there is some other big game out when this is out.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
My most anticipated 2015 title. Thank you, based EAD.

I remember saying back at e3 that I was disappointed by nintendo and their lack of effort with new ips. I'm glad I was wrong and splattoon looks like a real full game with an epic solo campaign. I'll definitely buy a wii u next year.
Good job nintendo.

Seriously, I'm so looking forward to this game. It looks so fresh and it just oozes fun.
The absolute highlight of Nintendo's upcoming releases. Definitely.

Really excited. It looks to be a full all-around title now. Seriously considering picking this up after I get a Wii U.

This gaaaaaaaaame.

Nintendo really needs to let their young guys of the leash instead of harassing Miyamoto into brainstorming wii u Gamepad ideas

Video games are back you guys! In pog form!

Also, Splatoon makes me wish I could draw. I love the core design of the Inklings.

Q2 puts that around when exactly?

May, June, July.

This has made me want a Wii U. Before this DKTF was really the only game of note for me personally, but dang, Splatoon singleplayer looks amazing.

I really can't stress how much I love the direction they're taking with this game.

I've always vouched for Nintendo's increase of wanting to diversify or at least bring new ideas after the Wii U, no less thanks to Platinum's efforts in giving them one of the single best new IPs in a long time last year with The Wonderful 101 (and sweetening the deal with Bayonetta 2). While a lot could have been said about Nintendo's own internal teams not doing similar efforts, I feel like this scratches the itch I've been personally having in over a decade that even the original Wii didn't really satiate. Not only is this a fresh new idea, it's an idea that now makes it evidently clear how it can be taken in every possible direction. Being excited for the multiplayer was one thing and now it's proven it's versatility in single player puzzle/platforming that looks fantastic. It's like what if Super Mario Sunshine would have actually tried to take it's gimmick to the next level instead of sitting between wanting to be a Mario game and wanting to be it's own new idea, and focusing on that one thing makes it be the best at that very one thing.

This is the Nintendo at their most creative that I have missed for so long, and I'm so happy that I can be excited for a brand new Nintendo IP that not only exuberates quality, but also a sense of timeless iconicity that's probably going to sit alongside Nintendo's All-Star lineup for quite some time.

I read in an interview the other day, it will have a local multiplayer mode which will be tuned for the smaller number of players.

At first glance I thought the missions were just in the multi player maps, but nope - they are different levels. Hoping theres a full 10 hour campaign. Love that there is platforming in it. And the art style.

Oh, I am a lot more excited for this game now. Seeing that trailer really does well in showing off the game, and it's just so super quirky, too. Good to see Nintendo bringing out a new IP, and one with a lot of personality.
