I have no problems with Sawano, though I really would like some continuity with ACE+ and Shimomura contributing again. Aside from Sawano's obsession with German lyrics, I really find his music badass. He at least made Guilty Crown memorable than it should be due to the music (that anime is mediocre).

This all looks ok to me.

I know I shouldn't expect higher from the Wii U, but seeing FFXV kind of spoiled me. That game and this one just doesn't compare on the graphical front. It just looks so.........PS3 era for me.
I don't know yo, this looks pretty fantastic so far and not something PS3-like.
And I've been liking what I've seen of 15 as well so that's not to say I'm just preferring one over the other.

I see what you did there. I like Sawano's style even though it is overbearing at times, but I'm not sure it can match Xenoblade's phenomenal sound team. I hope there are environments that look drastically different at night. The transition in Satorl Marsh and Valak Mountain, coupled with the music, was absolutely incredible.
Yeah, I do like his tracks in AOT, KLK, and Aldnoah.
And I actually liked the song they used for that first or second X trailer.

Well nobody said thats the main theme tho? I feel in love with Sawano's work with the Kill la Kill soundtrack, Blumenkranz is just soooooo good.

I like some of his vocal themes, but the actual performers he uses are often unimaginably awful, contorting English and German into forms they were never meant to take. People would probably be more positively disposed towards his work if he hired more native speakers. And better lyricists.

Agreed. His OSTs have generally made things I've experienced better, not worse. If anything, I've felt some shows (Aldnoah comes to mind) actually misuse the music and make it sound worse than it is.

As long as he sticks away from the dopey lyrics, we'll be fine.

Amazing, I need this. Also love how Monolith got open exploration of an HD JRPG right on their first try meanwhile Square botched it all last gen....

That's true, yeah - it could just be a theme for certain cutscenes or whatever. They did use that song in the very first reveal trailer as well as on the website, though. Who knows.

I listened to that again, and it made it seem like he was talking about the actual characters.

That's what I was afraid of. :( When this game was first announced I remember hearing there would be an online co-op component to it. Nothing like PSO. But some quests could be played online.

I actually really like the second trailer theme. The first trailer theme (the one on the site) sounds great too, but after a while, it starts to sound overbearing. That one track during the Treehouse live stream where it previews the whole area sounds nice except for Kobayashi's wailing.

In regards to the music, yeah Sawano is very predictable and his stuff is very distinct to say the least...but for me it works. It's over the top and bombastic but that's kind of what I want in a game like this. Gundam Unicorn has a Godly soundtrack and I feel the OST had enough verity in it to mix things up.

I want the OST to be as diverse as possible and in this case I think Xenoblade on the Wii has this beat but for all intents and purposes this seems to be Xenoblade but more bombastic and larger in scale so the music we've heard so far works.

A lot of people hate his stuff, sometimes hate is a strong word for what people feel towards his work and complaints can vary from the samey sounds to the weird names his pieces always have. I'm guessing that the soundtrack in this is going to be substantial and what we've heard is a small taste of what's to come. I'm willing to give the game a chance to show me more variety.

We don't know much about the game, but the theme probably revolves around 'Home' due to your character supposedly awakening with no recollection of prior events before LA crashes into this planet. I'm hoping the game tackles various themes and has a soundtrack that can match the emotional plot points and such.

i really don't like where this and FFXV are going in terms of community... whats the point of pointing out that Square hasn't made a fully open world RPG? chill out and enjoy the competition. XV and Xenoblade X both look great, whats the point of the shit talking.

I really wish I hadn't put the music from the website on........My God...

someone has their head on straight with the music. Definitely draws you in. This is going to be fun. What I have been missing from ALL the current consoles is a game that just pulls you into the world. Had hopes for destiny but it failed. Man I hope this one hits the mark.

Their first try, THEIR FIRST TRY

Are we really still on this?

S-E's first try was 7 years before Xenoblade X, it was called The Last Remnant, and it had HD towns.

Xenoblade X and FFXV are most likely going to release within one year of each other and XV looks a LOT more impressive.

I mean, I'm equally hyped for both, but it's no use comparing X to 5 years old games, and this HD town thing is getting really old. We all know it's an out-of-context quote that was meant to cover up the fact that some of XIII's design choices were unpopular.

Man. You people never miss a chance to dump on Square. Jesus.

Its only fair after all the teaser announcements square make, which only end up being for mobile games, f2p browser tat or soundtracks.

Monolith are actually capable of releasing software.

Square's failures and treatment of the audience has bred a strong resentment amongst some.

I'm not disagreeing with Square disappointment. I know I have been disappointed myself. Although to be fair, they're releasing mobile because that's where Japan has headed. But you think Square hasn't released software? I mean come on. How much more ridiculous can you be? This Square hyperbole is getting ridiculous. No software? DAE HD TOWNS?!? Ugh.

But really, I just think bringing them up in a Xenoblade X thread screams "pathetic." Why do you need to crap on other games and developers to make a point about how great Xenoblade looks?

Grow up. Enough "list warz" type crap.
