PAX East 2015 Badges on sale NOW

Forcing everyone to buy their own 3-day pass would be terrible. There's situations like mine where I buy the passes for my wife and myself because she can't buy them during the day.

It would also lead to even more people trying to hit the site, creating problems.

So...two at a time? XD

Ugh. I hate re-sellers. Why on earth are the 3-Day passes sold out already? So frustrating.

EDIT: Just bought three single day passes for $135 and hate myself a little bit. At least I'm going this year...broke my ankle before last year's show and had to sell my tickets (below face value for that matter).

I'm in with the wife and kid for Saturday. Since I'm buying two passes $45*3*2 sure as hell isn't happening.

Yeah, paying 135 for the weekend is out of my price range. That's just too much for an event. Friday and Saturday will be enough for me, especially since Sunday and Monday will no doubt have all the musical acts playing in town, where I can see them front row instead of in the back of main events.

They really need to limit the amount of 3-day badges able to be bought by one credit card more. This is ridiculous for people who want to go for fun, and not to sell the tickets.

It's easy, print the purchaser's name on the ticket. Purchaser must enter with valid ID matching that name. It eliminates people being able to re-sell, but I think the community would approve of that method overall.

guess I am happy i got tickets. hate having to pay the extra 90 bucks for the two of us to go. wish they would just get rid of the three day pass because if you don't have a reasonable chance anymore to get them...stop feeling like I am getting robbed because I work. If they sell out that fast why bother with discount tickets?

Wish they wouldn't open sales during the middle of the week during work hours.

I was on a conference call and wasn't able to secure a 3 day pass. Feel ripped off getting single day passes. I was planning on going all 3 days, but only going FRI SAT now.

So this will be my first time going, my buddy missed the saturday passes. What is the best way to get one after they sell out? I see them on Ebay already.

Ah so it was on a bit longer than the other thread suggested. But still pretty damn fast.

Damn it, I've been checking everyday and I still missed the 3 day passes AND the Saturday passes. How the hell am I gonna get my hands on a Saturday ticket now.

Shit. Sold out before they even went on sale. If anyone has an extra 3-day or 1 of each single days, shoot me a PM please.

Ugh, missed the boat on this one.

Oh well, at least I'll be attending PAX South.

Maybe the 3 days or single days will open up again.

Edit:
Meh, I guess I'll pass on PAX East this year.

Man that sucks, I was waiting all morning and left for work at 3 pm

I'll just wait for no shows

Time to be emo :/

Tbh the last two weeks before the show are when to buy since people cancel x get desperate to resell for little profit, like comic con x last year

indeed. And they are going to continue to hike up the price year after year. Eventually, a single day pass will be $100 each. -_-

I'm thinking PAX East may have just outgrown boston. It needs a larger space so it doesn't sell out in six seconds every year.

I'm not sure where else you would go, that convention center is huge.

I'm sure there's something in NYC that would be larger- and Philly convention center is literally double the size.

Edit: yeah, boston is about 500,000 total square feet. Philly is 1,000,000 square feet. NYC has a convention center that's 1,800,000 square feet, DC is 2,300,000 square feet, and Baltimore is 1,200,000 square feet. It would be better off just about anywhere BUT boston.

it is and it isn't. There's quite a lot of hoarding and scalping because there is a known demand.

This is also true. happened last year, and certainly happening this year. But still- ridiculous.

I want to go to an East one of these years. PSX and PAX South took my travel budget for the time being. Maybe next year.

You're in luck! Boston I believe a year ago approved a big two or three year renovation to the Convention Center! At least that's what I heard.

Somebody could probably find an article on it in the Penny Arcade forums somewhere.

lol. if I'm still going in 3 years I would be VERY surprised.

Your complaining is pointless; they've signed a contract through 2023 to keep PAX East in Boston.

Where's the schedule? I don't know if I should get the ticket for Friday or Sunday which day is better?

This is gonna be a weird answer but Sunday.

For some reason, my best day for the past three Pax Easts has been on a Sunday. It's also funny enough where I meet youtubers like JonTron, Totalbiscuit (didn't come last year), and Jessie Cox (who is awesome in person), etc.

Not that the last part means much but the point is, I found Sundays to be the most fun.

lol. if I'm still going in 3 years I would be VERY surprised.

Oh you will go my friend...you will go! 0_0

So pointing out PAX *might* be too big for what looks to be the smallest convention center in the northeast is "complaining" now? Come on now.

I can go either way, cost isn't an issue- it's just annoying going through this process every year with passes selling out in seconds.

If the center expands in a couple of years as another poster said, it would go a long way towards fixing the issue- but I'll definitely be "over" the convention thing by then. The most entertaining part of the last two were the GAF meetups anyway.

unlikely. I'll be ancient (40!) in gamer terms about three or four years from now. Definitely time to go home and be a family man instead ;)

PAX badges sell out so fast that I gave up on the idea on going many years ago.

its actually not that hard to find people selling them at the entrance for reasonable prices. Of course that means going to boston with no guarantee of a pass.

You can also keep an eye on GAF or Reddit, there are always people looking to give up passes as early as a few weeks before.

You should definitely go if you have the opportunity. Convention is fun, town is nice if you haven't been, and the meetups were a lot of fun.

I *might* reapply and return as an Enforcer next year once it goes up since talking to the Giant Bomb staff across all 3 days and working their panel was pretty awesome. It made my whole weekend plus road trips with friends is always fun as was doing Line Entertainment.

If I do return, me and bunch of friends are going to stay at the Seaport Hotel next year as opposed to staying at the Omni Parker House this year. Meeting Dan Ryckert next year would be at the top on my to do list. I

Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the meet ups since they more or less sailed over my head this year or didn't fit with my work schedule. I'm still kicking myself for missing the Harpoon Brewery stuff but at least Mully got back to his hostel in one piece.

Biggest problem for me is that PAX East is also the Friday of GDC - which means I will if anything just be flying up to Boston.

I have to wait a month before I know, though, if I'm going - Megabooth and all.

I have been able to make it to almost every on of the PAX Primes since it moved to the WA state convention center, but after this past summer, I made the decision that I am done. I am just not having much fun at these events any more, what with the crowds enforcement, etc. As I have also made the decision to sit out the generation of videogames due to boredom and lack of innovation, there is little point, for me, to go anymore.

I've enjoyed them all up until this year, and have had my time at those events. But now, I will spend my labor day weekend on other events.

t/; dr; After many years, I am done with PAX prime. Hope someone enjoys my tickets.

You guys think you feel bad, I'm one of the suckers who bought PAX South badges months ago and they STILL haven't sold out.

It's gonna be a convention of like 11 people in the basement of the Alamo.

In my experience, the convention is the worst part about PAX.
