ZombiU 2 listing spotted on Amazon France

ZombiU was so close to brilliant. I'd love a sequel, especially if it got the proper polish the original needed so badly.

Looking over some of the trademark documents, the one still active is the game itself which was used in commerce. The others that seem abandoned are for toys, game manuals etc. Guess only time will tell. Still, I'd rather another dev and publisher pick this up if Ubisoft is just gonna sit on it.

Yes. It was highly flawed, short on content, with inconsistent game balance.

But it was also very unique, very creative, very fun, with some good core game design. It needed another year in the oven to become a niche classic. It needed another pass at its game design, some more passes at balancing areas and encounters, and several more hours of content.

So I'd buy a sequel.

hmmm interesting find here.

ZombiU - the trademark has been abandoned by Ubisoft. Which means, that mark - ZombiU could be picked up and registered by another entity.

It was abandoned March 24th, 2014.

Wow that throws out the Ubisoft owns the trademark argument
Maybe Nintendo and Bamco picked it up and is funding it

So it will turn into a Platinum x Nintendo x Bayonetta 2 event?

But now, Namco Bandai x Nintendo x ZombiU 2?

Seems like business went far beyond Super Smash Bros. Nice : D!!!

Let the Rumor-Hype-Games Begin!

It's a shame they didn't port the first game to other platforms (Zombistation, Zombibox). That was probably the only WiiU title I was jealous about (I'm not into Mario, Zelda etc. at all).

upon more research they do. There seems to be an active trademark yet for the current product, still available in eshop and in stores. I browsed more of the trademarks and Ubi, abandoned 6 or so more with ZombiU.

Each one for something specific like Toys, Game Manuals etc. When I first found the abandonment one, I figured it was software specific.

Still though, you never know... things could change.

The first one wasn't that good, but if they made it I don't know if I'd be able to play it without the Gamepad. It'd feel weird.

They could do the same with Vita and Smartglass. It was a cool idea looking down at the pad and having to keep an eye out for zombies but they really could do that without the need for a second screen.

Would love to see another game and see what else they could do with the MP death mechanic stuff.

One of the best games this gen and one of the best WiiU games.
And seriously, if a potential sequel is not on WiiU, it really isn't worth it. 2 screens or bust.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/25/zombiu-2-listed-with-2015-release-date-on-amazon-france

"Amazon France has previous form in accurately leaking game details before publishers are ready to reveal them. To date, its list of scalps include Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Killzone Trilogy, the European-only Assassin's Creed Anthology, Grand Theft Auto V on PC and a PS4 bundle for The Last of Us: Remastered. All of these turned out to be accurate."

I didnt know they have been that accurate with leaks

Seems like Bandai Namco and Nintendo are really buddy now, everything can happen.
I'll still believe because it's ZombiU and I really really want a sequel.

Be still my heart. I love Zombi U. It's my favourite new IP in years. And the prospect of having it free from Ubisofts foul stinking clutches.... it's just too much for me.

It was Amazon US, and they leaked Cranky Kong

also the fact that the listed was removed is even more reason to think its real, stuff like Kid Icarus WiiU didnt get removed mostly because it just a mistake listing.

I would love if it had the the Watch_dog invade feature, where you can go into peoples game as a zombie and come after them

The other had when you die you show up in peoples games as a zombie with your equipment and they have to kill you and can take it but it was just the computer as your zombie self.

This time you should be able to be your zombie and if you kill them you take their stuff lol

So not only could this be true and coming out on Wii U, but it could also be released in a non-broken piece of shit state (aka a typical Ubisoft release)?

Pretty funny how everyone is totally ignoring that post.

i always see complaints about this and every time it surprises me how badly people seem to not comprehend what this game was...

hey, I loved ZombiU, but a couple of extra melee weapons to add variety to your attacks wouldn't hurt.
I can understand to not be able to carry several melee weapons at the same time, but you should be able to choose another one depending on your play style.

something like this:
-Cricket Bat: Default
-Baseball Bat: Faster, less damage
-Knife: Fast, very short range, decent damage
-Katana: Slower than knife, nice range, nice damage, very hard to find, very easy to break
-Ax: Slower than the cricket bat, same range, more damage
-Crowbar: Fast and very nice range, nice damage, can get stuck on the enemies

Hmm. I wonder if this is ubisoft's infamous "finished game" that they were holding back? Damn, a sequel to this game with online multiplayer and more melee weapons/other gameplay improvements would be sooooooooooo good

This is exactly how I feel about ZombiU. So much that could've been better but nothing a sequel couldn't fix. I'd love a new ZombiU. Preferably on Wii U with tablet control.

Well the game did start life as Attack of Killer Freaks from Outer Space and the aliens were just grungier rabbids, so there is precedent.

The game actually started as Attack Of The Killer Rabbids From Outer Space, then turned into Killer Freaks from Outer Space, before the alien/freaks part came in, you were just shooting actual Rabbids because the devs were so tired of making Rabbid games. :D

To be honest, I'd be one bitter man if Nintendo funded this and will release this first than a stateside release of Fatal Frame V

I don't see Ubi making a WiiU game at this point, or at least not a exclusive.

Maybe they'll name it Zombi 2 and go multiplat though.

The first game is still the only game I am interested in on the wii u. An exclusive sequel might push me over the edge on getting one....yes, for one game

Giving the IP to another Publisher is okay, but isn't essential to have the same team at Ubi behind this?

They already had plans for the sequel.
