Juice? Really? I've read something about his deliriums of grandeur about being some big shot lawyer or some crap. What I dont know is why is he so important that people keep quoting him in particular as opposed to hundreds that are legitimately crazier (but I assume less famous).

Here's a good primer on Cernovich: https://storify.com/stillgray/matt-binder-nails-gamergate-based-lawyer-mike-cern

tl;dr? Cernovich is the "date rape does not exist" guy.

He's done more threats of legal actions (where there seems to be no solid basis for any legal actions to be taken) and general grandstanding since that storify was created. His latest escapades include him drawing comparisons and parallels to "SJWs", race, and the events in Ferguson: https://twitter.com/SJWIlluminati/status/537124441084669952

So, like I said: Juice selling seems to be his only positive contribution to society.

What the actual fuck is wrong with this imbecile???? I'm not even kidding here! It's not a rhetorical question either! Anyone have the answer to this guy's problem? And why did he become "based lawyer" and the "antibullying hero"? How can someone be this despicable and gutless? "Support" antibullying when mere months ago you were doing just that? What does he obtain out of supporting GG?

Good lord....

of course I made the list. Swag total.

Being on that list makes me feel all...

55k names! How many does the original ggautoblocker have?

(I'm not on the list, I don't really tweet but I do follow a few filthy SJWs on that list)

First thing I did after searching for my handle was to search for Matt Lees'. Neither of us are on it and that's is hilarious (less so in my case because I don't bother following anyone).

I think it's more about who you follow than what you tweet.

Yeah I have a problem with this either way the whole guilty by association thing is not right I was on both of the list I am an SJW and a Harrasser both at the same time, because I followed David Pakman and Brianna Wu.

But David Pakman isn't on the source list for you to get blocked.

Nero (Milo)
FartToContinue
PlayDangerously (Mike Cernovich)
RogueStarGamez (Slade Vilenna)
TheRalphRetort
RealVivianJames
CHOBITCOIN

are on the list though. If it made a mistake you can get whitelisted.

I'm on the liiiiiiiiiiistt.

Ain't surprised since I've been following every raging 'feminazi/misandrist' and skeleton warrior before GG even became a thing. I might shed a little tear of happiness.

Good news! Various users at 8chan consider us to be the "worst hugbox".

If I could push a button that would destroy one community and all of their members it would be a hard choice between SA and Neogaf.
It's funny because Neofag/Ghazi are mostly white knights.
Side Note: If #GG considers entirely average GAF members to be "white knights" I'm taking that as a massive compliment to these forums and its users.
Transexuals tend to be extremely toxic to internet communities.
When SA and Neogaf went to utter shit you began to notice a large number of transexuals had appeared.
They destroy from within.
What the actual fuck?

No one tell them that we're so intent on destroying them and love our NeoGAF Hugbox™ so much that a move over the "Off-Topic" is probably in order soon (for OT3 at minimum I'd argue) unless the situation drastically changes and this mess actually goes back to anything even remotely relating to gaming. The only things worth continued discussion are subjects that #GG brought about upon itself and we're millions of miles beyond anything so stupid as "sides" or the "ethics" claims.

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
Man, seeing how everybody else is also on the list makes it feel like much less of an achievment.

Just as I type this I see a NeoGaf thread thingy on KiA and my heart skipped a beat....but it wasn't about me. :/
Come on guys, I'm very witty and sarcastic and anti-gg surley I deserve at least my very own reddit thread?

Every time I read "hugbox" I just imagine a refrigerator box cut into a rough spaceship shape and filled with warm fluffy pillows.

And then I realize that I miss being a six year old in a house that just got a new refrigerator...

I'm still looking up names in that "SJW" list and I noticed a Nintendo employee. I'm sure there could be more.

GGers don't even realize how many feminists are even in the gaming industry and support people like Anita Sarkeesian, Zoe Quinn, Brianna Wu, and so on, and listen to what they have to say. Not all follow them but have voiced their support of them and made a stance against GamerGate.

It's nice to see they dropped all pretenses of this being about ethics in games journalism. Not like people in "the middle ground" will care, but at least this is a start. There are no more excuses left of this not being a hate movement (not like there ever was a valid one anyway).

I think of that The Who song. "Mama's got a squeeze box, daddy never sleeps at night".

I love (well "love") the wording of this. Now I imagine a large group of transexuals just materializing like Arnold did in the first Terminator movie.

As a feminist gaffer who is a proud member of TransGaf, I welcome that they recognize our true powers of Social Justice Warriorness !

From my small sample of brazilian indie devs, aparently the list is based on you following one or more of the "big names" of "sjw", like Brianna and Zoe.

I "only" follow Anita =P

It's more suited to the Games Journalism thread, but seeing as it's still locked, I'll drop this in here:

So, the Advertising Standards Agency in the UK (these guys police all forms of advertising over here) are cracking down on Youtubers. From the BBC:
BBC said:
The new guidance to vloggers was issued following an investigation carried out by BBC Newsround.
...
Lynsay Taffe from the ASA told the BBC's Newsround: "Brands and vloggers now have to make it very clear, before you click on a video, that it's a promotional video."

That means if a vlogger is paid to promote a product, they need to put something like the word "ad" or "promo" in the title of their video - or use a symbol in the thumbnail telling viewers what they're about to click on is an advert.

While their remit is of course limited to the UK, it'll be interesting to see if there's wider gaming implications due to the amount of prominent UK based Youtubers and networks. Maybe some won't be as fast and loose to talk about ethics when they have to clearly label half their videos as paid/gifted ads.

Well, seeing as I think Yogscast is based in the UK (at least I assume so), it'll at least have an impact on their pathetic attemps at disclosing paid videos (in the description and in the text at the very end of their videos, which I'm sure about 5% of their viewers will read/watch). It's good that the "...but we're only entertainers!!!" argument is seen as what it is: Bullshit.

edit: This only seem to be about vloggers, but I assume the same has to apply to Let's Players now?

In practise, the rules might even go further than just the UK-located youtubers. If an advertiser like Activision or Microsoft posts a juicy CPM campaign reaching a worldwide/UK monetised audience (which always happens around AAA launches), they'll insist channel participants follow the rules (or risk getting dinged like Oreo did). Same with MCN's - if they're accepting campaigns which reach the UK, their partners, if they want in, will have to fall in line or disable it for UK viewers (forgoing the revenue). Lowest common denominator etc.

Vlogger is just a blanket term places like BBC use. 'Youtuber' is a branded colloquial and probably not appropriate to their style guide.

Finally, long time coming and relevant to actual gaming ethics after XB1M13, BF 4 Ronku launch, and Shadow of Mordor brand deals.

One woman's crusade to vaporize gaming's grossest trolls

That's... disappointing - it wasn't her 'crusade' at all. Her work is to highlight the base-level sexism in popular media. She didn't invite the trolls to get in her way and harass her, she had no choice but to tackle them.

I know I'm nitpicking, but ugh, just seems like an odd tag line.

Make a complaint to your country's organization, or the EASA itself.

Wonder what those Yogs guys will have to say about this. "We're doing plenty.", "It's a legal grey area." and "Look how bad these other people are." were always shitty excuses.

Man, that cover looks like something from like a mid-to-late-90s gaming magazine or something.

This, the 90s was strong with this designer he must have laid this out while wearing dayglo shorts and listening to 808 State. Nothing ever justifies neon green as the predominate colour in a layout, nothing.

I hope there are some designers in here who can crush me with an example of a great neon green layout

How long until we see the awful GG corruption of this cover? And will it contain Der Sturmer cartoons?

Oh I'm sure they'll find some way of deflecting.

I have no problems with these guys cashing in on their hard work (we joke, but a lot of youtubers work long hours) but the way they're acting like some sort of bastion of ethics to fight back against the institutions such as IGN and Gamespot really grates me. They are no different. In fact, their business model (quickly producing videos before some publisher CPM campaign runs dry) is arguably worse.

things can become a crusade for someone after they're forced into a position to have to acknowledge it.

I don't know why anyone should have a problem with either list (at least if used just for blocking). Do people have a problem with spam filters of forum ignore features? These are opt-in things, nobody's going to miss your tweets who didn't choose to.

Pretty much my position, producing good content is hard and if a YTer needs to get involved in a campaign to make ends meet that's fine, just tell me up front. The classic 'Oh but I'm no journalist' defense really gets on my nerves particularly as the people most likely to use that argument are often those who castigate the 'old media' the most. It's almost as if they can't see the hypocrisy inherent is holding yourself above a profession, 'just straight talk from a fellow gamer', and then disavowing the ethical standards of that profession 'oh but I'm no journo'.
