Isn't that what a lot of modern racing games tried to be? Everything since Need For Speed Underground, or these days things like Grid or Dirt.
I was kinda tempted to get nfs hot pursuit (I think thats the one) which is apparently pretty similar to burnout, it doesn't have any modding or story mode, but still looks alright. Which is the best grid game tho?

GGs Azure. I was salty after Olimar's F-smash killed me after it got reflected against your Palutena. lol

You're pretty good. I had a tough time against your Greninja. Kept getting grabbed and those hydro pumps low to the ground threw me off haha. I think in general you should be more aggressive.

Have you learned to pivot after a dash? I saw you using your shield to "stop" your dash and then doing an attack afterwards a couple of times, but you can just do a half circle motion to buffer a pivot and you can basically do anything even before the turn around animation happens. It doesn't work well with a few characters though like Palutena. But it should work well with Greninja and Marth.

Oh man, that Palutena reflect kill was special. :lol

It seems like in every game I play everyone always advises me to play more aggressive, but I just never know how to do so regularly with any degree of success. Any time I do it I get discouraged when suddenly I'm running headlong into things that really shouldn't hit me as often as they do. That's why I like to play in and out of someone's space and whiff punish or set them up into bad spots and pay attention to their mannerisms.

I think my favorite KOs were either baiting you into chasing me with a dash attack in the ZSS v Greninja matchup only to set up a Shadow Sneak in the opposite direction we were running together initially, release it and kick you off the stage or that one tipper Marth up smash when you were trying to kick me with ZSS' second input kick. (I wanted that one so damn much after getting stomped on so often in the other matches haha.)

That easy pivot tech though... I have to do some big time labbing now. I knew about pivots and use them pretty regularly for retreating f-tilt baits/punishes as Pit but I didn't realize how easy it was to buffer a dash into the other direction. If I get this timing down, I will dash dance eternally. :lol

It supports memory card emulation

Well damn, I might need to look into this.

Hot damn, I might have to as well.

Amazon shipped my Amiibos and ShopTo has shipped Smash.

Looking forward to finally being able to play the game with a controller that isn't complete shite, maybe I'll dislike it less.

Funny because I just got a message from Shopto saying
"We had to delay shipping your Amiibo"
Sad times but I'm going to a Smash Tournament anyway so meh. It'll come on Saturday .

Hot Pursuit is a great game. Well worth getting since it's made by the Criterion crew.
Fun Fact: However that guy is in my avatar has clocked in over 700 hours of Burnout Paradise. Even went to Guildford at one point.

How bad would it be if next week's title referenced retro_?

FGW | Retro_ gaming '98.

This is a problem because the game gets updated and changed all the time. Experience would change choice to a pre-determined reaction.

Is not what they talk about wrt choice reaction. Choice reaction simply means ascertaining anything at all happens, and then reacting accordingly. The extra processing makes choice reaction a lot slower than raw "anything at all happened" reaction. See: Blocking overheads, jumping at a person throwing fireballs. Basic hitconfirming is a choice reaction.

Anyone ever send their stick into Gummods for a PS4 padhack? What was his service like?

I'm going to leave my Qanba Q1 with my brother when I move out in a couple days and I'll buy another stick for myself. I wish I wasn't broke so I'm going to have to wait until I start getting paid at my new job in a couple weeks.

Haven't had a PS$ mod from them but they've done other stuff and have always been great.

Great, another thing for me to read up on.

You should probably look up some reviews, Codemaster racing games have all been messing around with how narartive works in them. So they are all a bit different. All I can say though is that Grid 2 is more arcadey, simpler, focuses more on making racing look flashy and cool. Grid Autosport, the newest one, is more serious and tries to act like more of a racing game.

Edit: So on further reading Choice Reaction time has a ton of research and study associated with it and a quick google search does not turn up much. Either way its more involved in the process of human cognition and decision making so it's too reductive to just say "shit gets worse with age".

Edit: I mean in this specific case. I don't dispute the statement that choice reaction time increases with age but rather the ammount of impact it might have in this situation or that it is the only determining factor for the players ability to react to a situation.

No shade, but this week's thread had more talk about Retro_ than I think I've seen him responded to ever in FGW.

Yesterday, I played a bunch of FGs in succession. That feeling when you play Persona after KoF, and mash AoA when you're trying to roll past Minazuki super...

One could say Daigo has started to already perform badly with him dropping combos much more often now. He is gonna be a very interesting case study on how someones performance is impacted as they age when it comes to Fighting games.

Daigo hasn't fallen off. He had one bad tournament, which was Evo. He's #1 in Topanga League right now and just won the Asia finals free. Sako is older than him, is married, has a kid, and was beasting in Topanga League too. He was looking stronger than Daigo for most of Topanga and his game differential was showing. Gods remain gods.

If he drops off it will be due to losing motivation, rather than physical deterioration. I can see that happening if his professional gaming career gets him another job in the industry, but it is his source of income right now so he'll be at it if he wants to continue making money.

Daigo first became Japan's best player in 1997 and it's now 2014. In Japan the only player considered as a better talent than him after all those years is Sako by some people. I think his fundamentals will let him be consistently one of the best players for more years to come despite being 33 already.

How do I unlock Custom moves in the Wii U version?

I hope you like grinding. :x

Classic Mode - Get the red wrench on the roulette wheel at the beginning of each match.
Trophy Rush - You can get at least 3 or 4 custom parts in one 2:30 run.
Master/Crazy Orders
Smash Tour

Not sure what other modes give you them. The thing is they're not guaranteed to be custom moves. The custom parts can either be equipment or a move.

I have no fucking clue what's going on with Eryu and Oni.
It looks like E.Ryu can throw air fireballs from the ground and Oni had a follow-up to his DP that causes a knockdown? Basically those characters went full anime. There's also looks to be something about air demons for Oni, as well.... oh boy.

Evil Ryu became a Megaman Battle Network boss. Cool.

I am guessing Oni can do shoryuken->stomp

Poison is now a Love Shocker? Can I hope for an alt with inline skates then?

I swear all the characters I like in Smash.. either aren't that good or are worse than their palette swap

or I'm just terribad which probably is the answer.

all this equipment shit is almost 100% useless

Who do you like besides DJ

I like a lot of the characters.. it's just when your using Ike and get ran down quick and easy by Sheik/ZSS.. shits demoralizing fam.

There's a lot of gripes I have with the game already just with how Nintendo chose to design certain things.. but then I remember that it's a party game that's not meant to be taken seriously.

I think the only reason they even made a training mode in Smash is so you can see how many Pokemon you can get on the screen

Are you bothering to use Ike's jab combo?

All the time.

Nintendo still refuses to use a modern version of online. Shit is straight childish and poverty status.

Can make a room but can't invite people.
For Glory mode doesn't show you the connection until you get to actually play in that shit.
For Fun mode is retarded
No leaderboards or anything.. or that Global smash points? or whatever the rassssssclot that is
I quit a For Glory match because it was laggy as shit right from the start.. Can't even play With Friends mode for 15 minutes

This is some circa 2002 type online shit. my gad. Welcome2Poverty.

I swear if Halo MCC wasn't trash my Wii U would be on Kijiji rn

I wonder it jet lag has a lot of effect on international players at evolution

In other words, do the slightly older players from out of the country perhaps have a.better handle on things with a 2-4 day stay in the states to reset their circadian rhythm.

In other other words, daigo is getting up there and he needs more naps for upcoming evos
