Although, looking at the official website, it looks like there's going to be an advancing screening on December 28, and usually those things don't happen until right before a show is going to air. So it could very well be winter.

Dayum.. don't tease me like that, that would please me greatly.. don't mind waiting a bit more though.

Did I misread the subs or did Rin even state that she's sorry for what happened "yesterday"?

As in...how the fuck would that timeline even work out then. Even if Shirou was dragged away by Caster in the early morning, did he somehow get healed (Saber?) and trained a lot within that short timeframe?

Saber's lines implies a few days have happened. Rin's line implies it was yesterday. Unless something escapes me, it seems a script error. edit: or Rin was talking of another thing, and not Archer attack?? But if that's the case, it was really misguiding.

This will be explained actually.

There was a hint dropped at the beginning of the episode actually.

EDIT: The wording might be a script error too.

[Shirobako] - 7 & 8

It doesn't feel like the story has much palpable forward momentum now that the major crises with the production have been resolved however I am enjoying the examinations of various characters work related problems. It just doesn't feel like it has much 'drive', but I suppose that gives it more time to examine a wider variety of roles within the industry.
Shirobako's lack of a central force moving it's narrative forward is something I find to be pretty refreshing about it. It allows the characters to develop in their specific ways without being beholden to some overarching drama. Though I guess it's not entirely devoid of that with the various problems with Exodus.

I'm puzzled as to why people are still acting surprised by the fact that everything in the Fate/whatever universe is absolute shit

Well I think it had to be given the benefit of the doubt, right? I mean, "cynical nerds" have discussed for years how bad the writing for story you can't always trust that kind of information. On the other hand, Nasu-fans insisted it was fine.

In this case, however, the naysayers were completely correct.

Kokoro Connect - 9

Half the happenings of this episode are dedicated to our MC saying fuck it and coming to the conclusion that he'd rather selfishly enjoy the company of his friends and ignore any of the inherently dangerous ramifications of that decision. Oh what's that love interest #1? You're worried that I may shove your face into some obscure piece of furniture again? Well tough. Later we're made to accept that despite the intervention supposedly turning off higher brain function temporarily and forcing a person to express their base and unfiltered desires that we can just fight it off if we really don't want to do what our desires express. How convenient. Let's ignore that the explanation given for why Kung-Fu Blondie won't singlehandedly destroy half the class is because she's already experienced the "pain" of hurting others while our other main characters repeatedly inflicted emotional damage on eachother for the past 3 episodes. I'm sure that'll work out just swimmingly.

And I sincerely hope the show hasn't forgotten Iori's original goal with this as being something that would reveal who she really is. We've accomplished nothing on that front and there really hasn't been any mention of it over the last few episodes.

Mushishi S2 - 19

An interesting episode. To be honest, it was being a weak one, the episode was reminding me of any medical tv series, it really focused on the angle of mushis as illness and Ginko having to guess a treatment in time to save the patient.
Then in the second part he actually dies, and super suddenly, and we have the emotional payoff, we learn the one who drowned was the mother, and (again as an illness) it passed from mother to son in the pregnancy period. While she "passed it" to him, it's also the case that thanks to the mushi she survived, and thanks she survived she could give birth. So life and death came from the mushi. Better to live a few years, than none at all.

Cross Ange - 09

I was already thrown for a loop regarding
Hilda's
situation but to see
Sylvia try and stab her sister
just brought this show to a whole new level of fucked up.

I think around episode 1 or 2 I complained in this very same thread on how boring/plain/dumb was Shirou as MC, and someone said here that later his character would be explained, how it really he was much more deeper and better character than it seemed.

If that "deepness" and "betterness" was just him being edgy and oh-I'm too stoic-because my heart is empty and I'm made of metal because my trauma, well... I want to punch someone. Hopefully that Nasu-fan.

Celestial Method - 9

Ohhhh boy.

So now we have Shione playing the role of the bad guy because she's sure that if she fully reconciles with Nonoka, Noel will most likely disappear.

Though given what happened with Noel near the end of this episode, I suspect that Shione will probably fess up about why she was acting that way once she finds out about what happened to her.

spending more time with Ayumi can only be good. For her. (And maybe for me.)

I can't just up and ignore this unintentional highlight.

I know. I mean, it's a novel where they made King Arthur a girl for no other reason that you can bang her.

Entertaining, I get, but good?

F/sn UBW is complete crap, y'all should drop it :^ )

It's a real shame, I'm way behind on it mostly due to the impressions I've heard regarding it.

I'm confused as to how the FSN series got as big as it did

Yeah, it's one of the most popular visual novels of all time for some reason. What exactly did it do to gather such praise?

Then again, what did SAO do to gather such praise?

Well if anything, F/SN gave us Fate/Zero, so that's always a plus.

The narrative climaxes are really good in UBW and HF.

I always thought 2 cour is overkill for UBW make thing too backloaded, all the good stuff is on latter season this way.. the earlier stuff is also fun but thing seem too stretched out now.

15 eps seem ideal, instead they waste 2 hour for prologue stuff, oh well.. I can deal.

I would say the biggest problem with UBW right now is that the direction is mediocre at best and dogshit at worse. There's no proper build-up to sequences nor any good sort of atmosphere.

It's really apparent how big the direction gap is.

Ufotable has no fucking clue how to handle the dialogue sequences as well.

I mean look at Aldnoah Zero and compare the direction there with UBW. Aldnoah might have atrocious writing but a number of scenes were well directed.

We love to joke about it, "it's so bad it's good", etc, but at the end of the day it's one that I wait the most every week.

Mushishi, Parasyte? Good series!, but they don't have the same punch for me, as I read their mangas a few yeas before. There is no novelty for me, so there no craving to know the next bit of plot.

Your lie in April? It kinds of annoys me with the melodrama and the predictability.

Fate UBW? Nope, very good fights, but I'm not liking the characters or the writing, which is more in the category of bad and boring, and not bad and entertaining.

Bahamut is the only other good one that it's new and interesting, and even then it's going to a predictable path, following closely the genre it belongs, adventure, so fighting the big bad evil approaching (the dragon), the main characters solving their difference on their journey, etc. And every time the narration focus on the 3d dragon bores me, it isn't getting to transmit the correct feeling of danger or doom. It's just an ugly 3d dragon.

I think the lesson here is how real unpredictability can make enjoyable hot garbage.

I didn't predict Ange being a Norma in the first episode (as I started it without knowing shit about the series), I didn't predict she causing the death of the sergeant, I didn't predict she being lost in an island and finding Kira Yamato in it, nor I predicted him being in contact with the boss, and I didn't predict this being a trap by a BDSM wheelchair imouto.
Now that i'm caught up after watching 7 episodes in a row, i'm pretty excited to see more.

I never have any clue how they'll try to top themselves and they just keep going for it. It's just pure joy to watch.
Almost time to return to anime. Someone stop me.
I returned only because I needed to grind pet battles to make the menagerie. Had to have something on while I went through the boring stuff.

Himemiya! You never watched season 2 of gdgd? How you not gonna watch that after getting me to watch the show??!! I think season two is even better than the first.

I still need to finish teekyuu. Stopped after the first season for some reason.

Full Metal Panic! - 12

In which Sousuke defeats a robot ten times the size of his own by shooting it in just the right spot of its groin.

Also,
Tessa tells Chidori of her love for Sousuke. Well...that should certainly lead to interesting places for this show!

So glad everyone is opening their eyes to that goddamn awful universe that is called Fate/Zero.

Grisaia no Kajitsu 09: Well they concluded Makina's arc rather quickly, and now we finally get to the decent one and with 4 eps to spare! I'm ready Angelic Howl.

Lemme explain. If gdgd Fairies was a flowchart you would have 2 paths; The Koutarou Ishidate (series composition on gdgd s1) path and the Souta Sugahara (director, character design, planning of gdgd s1) path. Instead of doing gdgd s2 Ishidate worked on Straight Title Robot Anime, Tesagure! Bukatsumono, Minarai Diva most notably and ehhh I like his sense of humour so I went and watched those (if there were good subs, anyway). Still planned to watch s2 eventually hopefully they didn't change up too much--

Good to hear!

Not a Sega fan so SeHa Girls isn't on my radar js. It's not like I have an MMD fetish..or anything...

I'm not sure if you're serious here, but if you are...

What, what, and what.

Say what you want about Fate/Stay Night but Fate/Zero was legit amazing.

To say Fate/Zero is awful is to say that Rider is awful.

To say Fate/Zero is awful is to say that Kiritsugu and Kirei are poorly written characters.

I honestly don't see how anyone could be serious about that.

Not a Sega person, but SeHa Girls is pretty good.

Plus there are LINE stickers for it haha

Yeh, the direction just seems to put another shit-layer on top of the, I assume, bad source material. It's night and day difference to F/Z, which has also left a much better impression of its visuals, even though the budget wasn't as high (if that's actually the case?).

Who knows, maybe with great direction and a looser adaptation this could've been just fine.

yeah this is basically cg world masterpiece theatre and i like what i see thus far. the cg can be a bit iffy at times but it looks so much better than the teasers let on thanks to how well its animated and how nicely it blends in with the great background work.

Rival turned masochist?! AWWWWWW YEAAH!

I'm really liking how the main lead isn't some boring girl who's like "Oh hey, I can be somebody in this club!" and instead has this selfish attitude with a backbone to boot.

Trying to find some more anime to watch, can anyone recommend me some ones that have a unique style artwise with good animation?

While it's true that there might not be so much 'forward momentum', I don't think it's really an issue with the show. The character exploration and look at the industry itself gives the show enough drive, and it's proving to be a pretty unique view in the realm of anime. I'm sure we're going to get some more of what we had in the first few episodes before too long (especially with the continued lack of forward motion on the final episode), but for now I'm really enjoying the examinations the show is doing.

Clannad is also one of the most popular VNs of all time.

I can't think of anything more damning of the medium.
